| Posted: 03 Aug 2017 09:12 AM PDT Hey guys, From the matches we've had so far in TI, we've definitely have had a broad range of picks and strats that show how great the meta is. Like seeing brood vs void mid yesterday, etc. The one pick I can't seem to wrap my head around is the Lich first pick. C9 and the chinese seem to be doing it quite often and I can't really understand it and I think the casters aren't adressing it objectively, as I haven't heard a straight up "lich is good because she does x". Is just based around the fact that it can deny experience easily and frost armor? I think its such a passive pick and I'm surprised to see such priority for it. What do you think? | Why is every lich skilling 2-1-2 instead of 1-1-3? Posted: 03 Aug 2017 11:45 AM PDT I don't understand why all position 5 liches at TI are skilling a second point in frost blast early instead of a third point in sacrifice. The third level in sacrifice allows you to sacrifice a range creep for xp or a melee creep for full mana every wave with a 32 second cooldown, while the second point in frost blast only adds 25 area damage and 50 unit damage for 25 more mana cost. The slow of frost blast doesn't increase with levels, and I see lots of these liches running out of mana when they're using chain frost. They use ulti and one frost blast and they don't have enough mana in fights to use a second frost blast. In addition, they often fall behind in levels which would be solved by a third level in sacrifice. All of lich's skills and talents are very useful, I don't understand why they don't take free experience. The obvious downside of using sacrifice more often (particularly on ranged creeps) is that the lane pushes against your team. I feel that this disadvantage is being weighed too heavily since lich is usually in side lanes rather than mid where pushing the lane is more important. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 03 Aug 2017 11:54 AM PDT I've seen Arteezy pick up the item after a level 3 Necrobook. To me, all that Agility seems wasted on a Strength hero like Lycan. The item only offers attack speed, armor, and mana to Lycan in terms of stats; the mana break seems redundant with the Necrobook and the Purge ability does not seem necessary with Lycan's insane movement speed during Shapeshift. Correct me if I'm wrong; I'm just very curious as to why this might be a good pick up on the hero. [link] [comments]  |

Maybe mods could create a thread with a comment for each team/matchup and discussion could be generated within those comments? I think it would be a great idea to be able to theorycraft and discuss drafts, strategy, plays etc from the games just played today without the memes and circlejerk that you sometimes get on /r/DotA2 . By this I mean less remarks such as "look at that amazing play!" but more along the lines of "why is wyvern and ET being played together so often by EG", without having to spam the subreddit. Of course, you could make the argument that casters should provide all this insight which they often do, but not everyone is able to watch every single game and post game results do not always show the full picture or explain dota theory; plus it is always fun to discuss strategy with other dota enthusiasts. | In what situations do you buy a Blink, Vanguard, or Tranquil first item on Axe? Posted: 02 Aug 2017 07:30 PM PDT I understand the title may be a bit confusing... sorry. When is it good to get blink first? When is it good to get Vanguard first? When is it good to get Tranquils first? By "first" I mean after the standard starting items and brown boots. I have a 62% winrate with 200 games as Axe, but I want to obviously get better at him. I usually go brown boots right into blink, but sometimes I go tranquils when the lane is difficult and I need regen. I saw Queenteka get vanguard first just now and it made me re-think my itemization on Axe. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 03 Aug 2017 07:34 AM PDT I am playing against mk players who just right click and when they get low, he hit bondless strike to kill them or just righ click since he has huge range. I tried to gank him with some heroes but he hit 3 times and then hit multiple enemy stun and get almost full hp back and while our supports are about to die. How you guys counter this MK meta? | Requesting suggestions for supports. Posted: 03 Aug 2017 03:56 AM PDT Going to put this into three parts. First off, what support heroes do you think are good and why ? My support pool is pretty limited with rubick and wisp being my most played two (like 17 games on wisp, maybe 40s on rubick) its not necessarily that I'm bad at other supports I just don't really have enough experience on them to know when to pick what. My top 5 would be (in no particular order) 1-Supporphling (morphling) cause tons of disable 2-Cm cause Mana for team 3-Rubick versatile , cool ult 4-Wisp I like the noises he/she/it makes. 5-Shadow Demon fuck Ursa man. I hate him / his ult. Second at what point in a draft do you usually pick a support ? Like I know in the pro scene they generally lead with a support and all but they also have one person picking everything with a plan in mind. Basically when playing with 4 strangers, when do you know "I'm going to support with _____" Last ,when do you know what support to pick ? My usual draft plan in ranked all pick lately is to wait until last and pick what we still need, which has been support a good amount of times. The issue comes here, my support experience is pretty limited as far as hero pool goes. Basically ask myself "Can they fuck my asshole if I pick wisp?" If no, pick wisp. If yes "do they have cool shit?" If yes. Rubick. "do they have someone I don't want to move ever?" If yes supporphling. And last, "do we have a bunch of Mana whores?" If yes cm. Posted: 03 Aug 2017 06:52 AM PDT Blink is pretty much core on this hero, Vlads is good 90% of the time, and there are games you realize you fight less/ won't be closing so soon and Midas is a good choice to keep up in farm.
