Official r/smashbros Monthly Voted Tier List (July 2017): Results! Posted: 04 Aug 2017 06:56 PM PDT I'm back again, and about time too! And this time, I'm in the mood! (to post results!) (okay that didn't work as well as it did in my head) Welcome to my Redditstaurant! Here's our menu: S Tiers are best, most viable characters in the game. "The Meta," if you will. They are always able to place high at tournaments, and their strengths tend to outweigh their weaknesses considerably. A (A+/A/A-) Tiers are characters who don't define the meta, but are definitely viable and able to compete. They may possess a few noticeable flaws or lack very big strengths, but they are able to be worked around. Use of these characters will never hold the player back. B (B+/B/B-) Tiers are characters who are able to do very well in tournament, but are held back from consistently placing high. This can be because of several flaws, very large flaws, bad match-ups, or other reasons. However, they are definitely still threats. C (C+/C/C-) Tiers are characters who are really only good for situational or limited use. They have potential, but this potential is limited by their struggle against popular characters in the meta. They can be very useful in certain match-ups. D Tiers are characters who are not tournament viable in any sense. They are littered with too many weaknesses to even have occasional use as a pocket. A player would be severely limited by these characters. In terms of Miis, they are ranked with both their default and custom movesets. Default Miis are marked with a "1111," while freed custom moveset Miis are not marked. Both default and custom moveset Miis are average (guest) size and do not have any custom equipment. Here's our special, "The Tier List!" Would you like some Mii with that dish? Here's last month's special, in case you were curious. Interesting things to note: Of the fairly established Top 12 we've had for several months, Fox is the only one who rose in placing, going from 9th to 6th. He also rose into A+ Tier. Of that same group of 12, Mario is the only one who droppped a few placings, going from 7th (at the end of A+) to 9th (near the middle of A). Mewtwo dips into A- Tier, the first time any of our Top 12 has since this February. After shooting up towards the top of A- two months ago, Lucina starts to cool off, falling three places to the bottom of A- Tier. B Tier sees an all-time low in size, shrinking to only 2 characters. Olimar and Game and Watch tie for the largest fall, with both falling 4 places (and Olimar in particular falling down a tier). Samus, on the other hand, sees the largest rise, moving up four spots towards the top of B-. The Pits are no longer united. Hopefully they're still on good terms! (then again, I think the Hero of Time and an intergalactic bounty hunter could stop that fight fairly handily) Jr. Tier makes a reappearance. Zelda, who was consistently a tier above him just two months ago, has dipped under Ganondorf. It's time for this month's "Funsie" Question! This time around, the questions asked dealt with amiibo, to celebrate the release of the final 3 (well, techincally 6) Smash amiibo! Now, of course, not everybody is super interested in amiibo, so the first question asked was "how many amiibo, if any, do you own?" According to the results, only a fourth of the voters did not own any amiibo. Around a third of the voters did own one or two amiibo, and a little over a third owned several. 5 voters even owned all 62 Smash amiibo! When those who did own amiibo were asked if they bought non-Smash amiibo, the count was pretty even. However, slightly more respondents were not interested in other amiibo series and have only bought Smash amiibo. When the respondents were asked what they thought the "best" Smash amiibo was (the best-looking, the coolest, or whatever you define "best" as), three amiibo in particular were mentioned more than the others; Advent Children Cloud (11 votes), Ganondorf (10 votes), and Mr. Game & Watch. /u/DiamondJoyride machine broke has been a bit busy as of late. A lot of people have and will notice the site's not functioning as it should and it's believed to be one of multiple possible issues; number one being a possible DDOS attack. Anther has been dealing with issues for weeks and honestly, given the circumstances, it is believed to be this. Anther is looking into both a new server and of course, stronger ddos protection but this may take an uncomfortable amount of time so please bear with us. Who knows until the end but in the mean time, the Smashladder discord is up and running for those looking for matches. Takera is going to SCR Saga! Posted: 04 Aug 2017 10:40 AM PDT For those who don't know who takera is, he is a Japanese Ryu player. He took 7th at Umebura Japan Major as well as 5th at Umebura 27 this year. He has taken sets off of big name players as well this year such as Edge, KEN, MKLeo, Rain, Rizeasu, T, Tsu, and Umeki.
