Well we just wanted to wait for Ultimate Infestation of Reddit before celebrating, of course! We definitely weren't late or anything... To celebrate our 500k ranked wins, /r/hearthstone wants to show off our shiny new golden hero portraits. This is going to be a great celebration, YUGE, the best celebration, and I would know. We're going to have so many hero portaits... because they're coming from you! That's right, undead servants of the Lich King, it's time for another contest. Until now. Within the last few months, I've perceived a shift in the general attitude of the development team towards the fan-base in terms of generosity and fairness. Just to recap:
Though we all have our criticisms of Hearthstone cough arena commons cough, these changes seem to indicate a general positive trend in the game, and that trend is one I want to continue. I want Blizzard to keep valuing our time, I want them to keep making the game fair, and I'm seeing them actively do that now. I think it's important to let Team 5 and Blizzard know this, just as it's important for them to keep communicating with us. Keep up the good work everyone! [link] [comments]  | ||
| No, you probably don't deserve the free 2000 dust. Posted: 04 Aug 2017 05:48 AM PDT There are a ton of comments from people saying they deserve the 2000 dust and they're f2p. The dust is compensation for people who missed out on cards they would have gotten as a result of their pity timer. Meaning they went over some threshold that Blizzard decided would have guaranteed them a valuable card had there not been the bug. If you are f2p and you opened 3 free packs from tavern brawls during the time this took place, you very probably are not owed anything. Unless you were tracking pack openings and know for sure you missed out on your pity legendary, you aren't entitled to anything. Please stop whining. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 04 Aug 2017 03:34 AM PDT Some of the missing interactions are understandable, as the voice actors would need to be called in again for all languages, and most charge for at least 3 hours or something regardless of how much you need. But this voice line has already been recorded in all hearthstone languages for heroes of the storm already, which he yells out when using one of his heroic abilities. There are a lot of voice lines in HotS which could easily be implemented as interaction voice lines on hearthstone. Edit: u/Kaireku pointed out that he also says it in the tutorial! | It is already August, when do we get a confirmed release date? Posted: 04 Aug 2017 02:51 AM PDT I find it interesting there are not more threads about this topic. There is no other game i have experienced where a release date is announced a week before launch. The only hint we have so far is Toast's unconfirmed "leak", which might or might no be true. This not only seems highly unprofessional, it also causes problems for tournament organizers, content creators etc. Yet it somehow feels like the whole community takes this as granted, for every Hearthstone expansion was handled this way. Though just the fact that it has been done like this since naxxramas should not be a reason to justify it. This is without a doubt one of the most impactful expansion this game will get, since The Lich King is Warcraft's most beloved villian, maybe even character, and will draw a lot more retired hearthstone players back to the game than usual expansion thanks to the lore factor Knights of the Frozen Throne has. The fact that there will be approximately one week between release announcement and the actual game launch means people who are not browsing this subreddit and other information sources for the game on a daily basis will be more likely to miss the release. I can see where Blizzard is coming from regarding this decision. First of all it makes the final announcement even more hype and also gives the current expansion, in this case Un'goro, a little longer to not be written off completly, which will always happen sooner or later though i think it is a valid point. The fact is, Blizzard has all the pity timer data readily available and know for a fact who was affected. Those that were effected received compensation, those that didn't...well didn't. Why? Because they didn't lose out on anything! Feeling entitled to something you don't deserve is childish, and I hope we as a community can just grow up already.
