New EternalEnvy Slark build - anyone else tried it?

Posted: 14 Jul 2017 12:11 PM PDT

As a filthy slark spammer who hovers around 4.8-5k I'm legitimately confused at this build I've been seeing EE do lately, the first few times I thought it was just a troll build but he keeps doing it and it seems to work?

Treads -> Pipe -> Solar crest -> Echo -> Heart

Basically just focuses on making him as tanky as possible, staying alive in fights and using your passive to slowly but surely build up agi stacks. I get how it works obviously but it seems so counter intuitive compared to how he is normally built. Has anyone else experimented with this or seen anyone else pull it off?

I'm half tempted to give it a shot but I'm 90% positive you'll get report spammed into low priority if you do this build and lose with it lol.

When do you build Mask of Madness on Sniper?

Posted: 14 Jul 2017 07:10 AM PDT

As title. I see that in high MMR games MoM are picked up quite often. However I don't know when you should get it.

Any comments are appreciated. Cheers

EDIT: In general, how do you decide whether to get Dragon Lance / Shadow Blade/ MoM as first item as Sniper?

Something this sub should see (MMR Ranking Data xpost from DOTA2)

Posted: 14 Jul 2017 12:19 PM PDT

Ranked MMR Spread: http://i.imgur.com/ryJGScN.png

Ranked MMR Percentile: http://i.imgur.com/cgNYRRX.png

MMR average has inflated by about 20% since 2013. 3k was top 90% in 2013, now it's top 70%.

More or less, if you aren't increasing your MMR by 5%/year, you are stagnating or getting worse -- statistically. I think it brings to light a fairly reasonable target for when you really 'crack down' and focus on increasing your skill. 5% beats 'inflation', anything over that is true improvement.

I love data / programming, so the way he pulled the data is really well crafted. Definitely the most accurate pull of DOTA 2 MMR you could ask for.

Replay HUD - overwolf

Posted: 14 Jul 2017 04:42 AM PDT

Just sharing something useful I've started doing. Replay hud, built into overwolf, has a replay last 5/20/60 seconds option. This comes in handy for when you've just died and have time to wait, whilst also being able to critique the play and see what went wrong.

This app causes me significant fps drop but I highly recommend it for casual use.

mjollnir stack with malestrom post 7.0

Posted: 14 Jul 2017 02:51 PM PDT

stacking just malestrom used to be effective dmg/gold, but now thats changed as the item doesnt stack with itself. does it stack with the upgraded version though? it should be two separate icds resulting in an additive chance for a proc, right?

Coming back to Dota after 7.xx, please help!

Posted: 14 Jul 2017 10:10 AM PDT

Looking for some good guides / summary on what changed since the major patch. I was primarily playing jungle and off lane roles prior to 7.xx.

The whole game seems to be over my head right now, I played a few unranked pubs and was quite confused at times.

Support Invoker

Posted: 13 Jul 2017 06:06 PM PDT

Recently in a game I was playing support I decided to yolo support invoker and it worked really well. I was laning with a WK and we could instantly kill anyone with cold snap -> wraith blast + meteor. He could easily free farm with alacrity. Between ice walls, cold snap, emp, and tornado I felt like I could do everything a standard support could do and more. Not to mention sunstrikes and disarm from def blast. We easily won the game and it got me thinking, why is this not standard? Invo had the +30% xpm talent and he's super strong in lane with a partner. It feels like he's a super powered rubick tbh. Thoughts?
