TIL you can swim straight from the coast to Castle Volkihar without a loading screen

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 09:31 PM PDT

It never occurred to me before. I always assumed there was an invisible barrier. Serana told me to get into the boat, I said fuck that, then swam. Then swam some more, fully expecting a wall. Nope.

The problem with Delphine and Esbern

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 12:43 PM PDT

Is that they act like they're doing you a favor. When you first meet Delphine and tell her to get to the point, she snaps at you saying she'll say what she wants, how she wants. Then, of course, as we all know, they give you the ultimatum of killing Parthurnax or never being welcome in Skyhaven Temple again. As if the Blades are a resource I need. I don't need them. They need me. They cannot kill dragons without a dragonborn to absorb their souls, and killing dragons is why the Blades exist. And the Blades were basically dead when they found me. Without the DB, they wouldn't exist at all. I'm holding all the cards, and they think they are somehow

3D Printed Daedric Dagger

It bothers me that almost every faction is falling apart.

Posted: 06 Jul 2017 04:15 AM PDT

I get that it's the end times, but the Dark Brotherhood, Theive's Guild, and the Blades are just a few people with the College being the only thing left of the Mages' Guild. The only ones not falling apart are the ones with opposing counterparts, Stormcloaks and Imperials, and the Dawnguard and the Volkihar vampires. Oh, I seemed to have forgotten the Companians, but wait, they were affected by a curse and have turned from the closest thing to a fighter's guild into a bunch of sad werewolves. I think Oblivion does factions quite well as I wasn't treated like the second coming of Jesus Christ after a single quest and there was more to the guild than me and the guy giving me assignments.

Played this for 5+ years and I've NEVER been to the Temple of Talos in Windhelm

Emperor's Robes. Cuffed Boots. Mythic Dawn Gloves. Gold Diamond Ring. Gold Diamond Necklace. Gold and Emerald Circlet. At 2750 septims, the most expensive outfit in the game. And Taarie will still give you shit about your clothes.

Tested the housecarl's loyalty to the Dragonborn

Posted: 06 Jul 2017 12:56 AM PDT

I recently got my first housecarl from Falkreath. Since a housecarl's basic duty is to guard the Thane, I figured they would be on my side, even if i defied my allies. When both my steward and housecarl were inside the house, I pickpocketed my steward to provoke the housecarl. Turns out their loyalty lies with the Empire instead of the Thane, and I was attacked and quickly killed by both of them. I guess it's cool though cause now I know who to sacrifice to Boethiah

Is a random dragon encounter actually a duel, or at least more than a random attack?

Posted: 06 Jul 2017 12:10 AM PDT

In the loading screens, it's stated that a "battle" between two dragons is a deadly verbal debate. After the main story, it's stated that you have the stronges Thu'um of all the dragons. In Dawnguard, Durnheviir called you a dragon, even though you aren't one. If some dragons see you as a fellow dragon, are they just challenging you to a duel for power? After all, they are naturally dominant and power hungry creatures. So instead of it going like " Oh hai dovahkin, imma just try to murder ya, alrighty boozle?" it might go like "Ayyy, let's see who's stronger, kay? Kay."

The Civil War in context...

Posted: 06 Jul 2017 07:00 AM PDT

This question is directed at British and American users of this page; what side do you take in the civil war?

I'm British and side with the Empire, as do the majority of my British friends, however the majority of my American friends side with the Stomcloaks. I'm curious to see whether this is born out in a poll of British and American Skyrim players or my experience is mere coincidence.

Should you wish to take part in this survey please like/upvote the relevant comment below, thank you. 🙂

Top 10 skyrim quests?

Posted: 06 Jul 2017 08:05 AM PDT

Okay, this is my first ever post, so it's pretty basic. What are your top ten favourite quests on skyrim? (and why if you can be bothered putting it) Here are my top ten. Bearing in mind this is my opinion.

  1. A night to remember
  2. A lovely letter (the one where you fuck with sven's or faendals love life.)
  3. Battle for whiterun (the first taste of a civil war battle in skyrim)
  4. Ill met by moonlight
  5. No one escapes cindha mine
  6. Blood on the ice
  7. The dark brotherhood quests
  8. Stones of barenziah (only fun because it takes you all over skyrim, there is also a mod which adds markers where they are, making it easier)
  9. Laid to rest
  10. The way of the voice. (when you really start becoming the dragon born.

Everyone comment your favourite quests! Let's see which ones appear the most!

Anyone else notice that the guards have the magical ability to sense all your daedric artifacts, while noone else takes note?

Sneaking % on Armor & Jewels

Posted: 06 Jul 2017 05:54 AM PDT

Hi all. I was wondering how much +xx% Sneaking enchantment should i put as bonus on my armor to be efficient. I use light armors and (sometimes) the muffle enchantment.

  • I have +37% sneaking boots, +37% sneaking on and +25% on ring. That means i have permanent enchantment of +99%. If i get it to 100% am i totally silent? Does it make muffle obsolete?
  • Sneaking% means that i get noise reduction for my armor AND footsteps? So if i go to 100% i don't need muffle?

Are there any Oblivion mechanics you miss in Skyrim?

Posted: 06 Jul 2017 06:10 AM PDT

Personally I miss the arena and even the durability system. I just get nostalgic for it I guess.
