| Posted: 14 Jul 2017 05:15 PM PDT This item is so powerful for 50 sheckles. I do not see people picking this up as often as they should. People are complaining about how "This carry got so fat by farming in jungle and whenever we chase he runs" Smoke solves this by hiding you under observer wards and sentries. Correct me if I'm wrong but it breaks within 800 radius of an enemy hero wgich is half of there normal vision. So long story short buy this item and put it to good use. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 13 Jul 2017 10:53 PM PDT Just want to talk about how important these items are. On an agility core (in particular stat heavy ones like Jugg, TB, PL etc) getting wand and an aquila is vital early. With these two items, you get an extra 140 health, 84 extra mana (I think, they changed the mana per point of intelligence recently) and 13 extra damage. With a pms this goes to 19 extra damage pre 10 minutes. This is a huge difference early and can be the difference between winning or losing team fights. Not only this, but the items are extremely useful, wand can save your life, or give you the burst of mana needed to get a kill. Aquila allows you to push the enemies towers quicker, and gives you better split push potential. I see too many people get boots then rush a 4000 gold item, when building up to bigger items will be so much more productive. [link] [comments]  |

| Need help with OD and this game in particular Posted: 14 Jul 2017 11:25 AM PDT https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3312224870 First im not sure how i should have approached the laning stage. i was up against Zeus and he kinda dumpstered me. should i have bought stick and some salves to deal with the harass and be able to go more aggressive on him? perhaps midgame was the biggest problem. not sure how to balance farming and fighting. my team was getting owned by legion and i felt like i should be with them to save them but i just never could be at the right place at the right time. we would be grouped up together and nothing was happening, i get bored and decide to go farm somewhere and right when i leave legion pops in and kills someone. the io legion combo also made it kinda scary to be solo pushing a lane out. | [Theorycrafting] Medusa might be the next "spellcaster" hero after Ember Posted: 14 Jul 2017 03:05 PM PDT With the addition of an Aghanim's Scepter to Medusa's skillset, Medusa's Mystic Snake is more powerful than ever. It is a lane dominating skill that also does tons of damage into the mid and early late game. This, combined with her natural tankiness and low CD on that skill, allow her to put out massive damage output in midgame teamfights. So my proposed build would be like this (midlane): Bottle -> Boots -> Wand -> Arcane boots -> Aether Lens -> Phase boots (optional and can come earlier) -> Linkens Sphere (optional in case of Duel, Doom, etc) -> Aghs -> Shivas/Scythe This build would give her great survivability (stats/mana of Aether, Linkens, Aghs, and Shiva's/Scythe) and let her keep outputting damage via Mystic Snake (which also disables and returns mana to her). Of course, this build would require a high DPS safelane carry or even high damage non-carries such as Enigma or Jakiro. Thoughts? It seems like she could fulfill a Bristleback-type role but with better late game potential and even better tankiness. Maybe could add in a Mask of Madness to increase farm speed. Posted: 14 Jul 2017 05:28 AM PDT I am fed up of trying to learn how to play Io because its impossible it feels like, I've played mainly supports throughout most of my learning in this game, and Io just doesn't gel at all with me. I don't understand what to do with him. I know EXACTLY his strengths in that he regens people to never let them die, but almost every game I have with him feels like nobody is winning and I can't relocate people to gank or my lane partner is opposing a bristleback so they walk at us and my lack of CC stops me from interacting. I hate it. I want to learn Io, I got the Arcana for him that I waited so long for, I've watched tons of games with one, I know why he's picked and when he's picked, what he does, but I can't play him at all, not even in bots, I need even the most simple instructing because I don't want to just lose EVERY game I play as him. Sorry for the obvious frustration but its enfuriating to wait in base for 20 mins until the enemy team actually blows up the ancient when you're very clearly responsible for a game going wrong. EDIT: In my anger-typing of this post I forgot my dota-buff, feel free to poke through and be in awe of how bad I am at this stupid floating orb. [link] [comments]  |

So just wanted to get some confirmation on my build... 1-3-1 by 5 is the new build right? q-w-e-w-w Reality rift just feels so good in lane, especially with a support that can provide a slow/stun. With the help of a dazzle for his slow i owned this bb in lane yesterday. I see that some people say that BKB is core on him and i don't really get it. I mean i'll get bkb if the game calls for it but i don't think it's completely necessary for the hero unlike troll (who can mess up his bashlord status with even a slight sliow or stun) or PA (who's only vulnerability seems like magic damage until MKB, Silver Edge, or Bloodthorn is bought...all late game items). Doesn't BKB distinguish you from your phantasms? And isn't that bad? Items: I've been going: tangos-stout-mango-quell-treads-midas (only if my timing is sub 10 minutes)-armlet- THEN one of the following -halberd (if a lot of right clickers)-bkb (if necessary)-heart -echo sabre (if not a lot of right clickers)-bkb (if necessary)-heart -bkb (if really necessary....i.e. zeus, lesh, necro, lion, night stalker line up for example)- echo sabre or halberd - heart Do you think i could skip echo sabre/halberd and straight heart? Gives a little damage, a little intelligence and a little armour, all things that wind ranger benefits from. It makes her a little more survivable, with windrun and bm you'd be an annoying target.
