Heroes of the Storm - Tracer's high mobility means she has one of the lowest health-pools in the game. Genji has just as much mobility and a self-protect. So why does he have 400 more baseline HP than tracer?

Tracer's high mobility means she has one of the lowest health-pools in the game. Genji has just as much mobility and a self-protect. So why does he have 400 more baseline HP than tracer?

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 11:04 AM PDT

This isn't something I'd really thought about till now, but surely hyper mobility characters should be balanced by having less HP than the average hero?

Tracer level 1 HP: 1255 Tracer level 20 HP: 2645

Genji level 1 HP: 1665 Genji level 20 HP: 3509

So by level 20 genji has 864 more HP than tracer.

If genji had lower HP (I'm not suggesting that 400 HP baseline should be lopped off, though some kind of reduction is worth considering) he would be more easily countered by stun & burst comps, which currently he can more often than not escape from with a decent amount of health left. A simple HP reduction would leave the highly mobile fantasy of the hero intact and maintain his high skillcap, but would bring him more in-line with other heroes balance wise.

Thoughts?

Edit: Judging by some of the comments being made towards this post I feel it would be worthwhile making my position clearer.

Yes genji's overall win-rate is on the lower side of the hero pool, but thats because he is an extremely high skill cap hero, so in order to get value out of him, you have to know what you're doing. Now on the face of things thats not such a bad idea, its understandable to design a hero that gets astronomically more value the better you are on him. So long as its counterable that is.

And this is where I take umbrage with the hero because when someone gets really good with him, his counters no longer apply. Its clear in the design of the hero that stuns were meant to counter genji, the idea being that if you lock him down, you can blow him up. But vs a good genji that isn't possible in hero league, the coordination isn't there to perform the long stun chain you need to blow him up. A break in the chain stun for even a quarter of a second is enough for genji to press his E and run off. Heck this seems to apply even more if you watch HGC games, genji dominates even harder there and is seemingly even more difficult to kill. A large part of the problem admittedly is dodge at level seven, that talent needs to be completely removed its a problem talent in the same way li-ming's ess of johan talent was. But failing that as a change I also feel considering avenues such as a HP nerf are worth exploring.

Blizzard, the frequency of Sun's Out, Gun's Out loot box rewards is unreasonable.

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 09:28 AM PDT

So out of the 30 some boxes of loot I have opened over this event on my main account, I have received maybe 10 event themed rewards, all of which have been minor rewards (mostly sprays and portraits). I have received 2 Legendaries one which was a Tomb Queen Zagara Skin, the other was a Diablo Announcer. I have received a number of epic skins, which were again skins I could have earned at any time prior to or after the event.

I feel like if you are lucky enough to roll an epic or legendary reward, and it is in a Sun's Out, Gun's Out loot box, it should be an event themed reward. The fact that it is not is irksome to say the least.

Anyone else have this issue? Up-vote and post so we can maybe get a response from Blizzard on this.

Daily request to please let us exclude ai games from statistics

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 04:35 PM PDT

I enjoy looking through my roster and statistics, I like comparing win rates and KDA etc etc....

Because I usually level my characters in beginner AI. I have an 89% win rate on Sylvannas with a 11 KDA because she was super easy to grind the rooster quest.

that's not TERRIBLY helpful to me when looking at draft picks and strengths and weaknesses etc.

pretty please

Pull Party is so good...

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 04:19 AM PDT

  • You actually play more than 2 matches

  • No one ever flames

  • Valve is going to make a standalone game of it and 2 years later blizzard will make their own

  • There is a consensus for swapping Hanamura for Pull Party

Had to be said :D

A lot of times after a game is over I would like to go back and see what talents were picked along with the games stats. Can this be included in our match history?

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 01:06 PM PDT

I'm not sure how everyone else feels, but something I frequently find myself wanting implemented is a more detailed match history. A lot of times I will see someone play phenomenal with a character and I want to try out that persons build, only to click "leave" and never be able to see it again. Or sometimes I'm just looking for some new inspiration based on personal match experience and would like this as a way to brainstorm.

Maybe to even prevent toxicity, detailed match history can only be viewed on user accounts.

Thank you Blizzard for your answer ; I love Auriel much more ♥

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 02:25 AM PDT

I wanted to write to Blizzard to tell them my story, my troubles, my father's sickness and his fight for life, how their games gave us something to hold on, to carry on, stronger with everyday. I thanked them for everything, the quality of the universe, goodies, the books I read with my parents, and above all, the community wich was so good. Thanks them for my favorite character too : Auriel, the archangel of hope, who actually gave me hope in the hardest moments...

I didn't even expected an answer from them. I thought it would be considered spam and take from their times, but I just had to do it, to thank them for all those years.

How was I surprises when I read their answer this morning, and the gift that came with it. I was chocked connecting to WoW to receive a new mount and on Heroes a bunch of loot chest... I, little player among tons, I had been eard, read and loves as an exceptionnal being.

Tears in my eyes today, I wanted to share it with you, and thank them, again. I now have objectivs and yearnings, dreams, thankis to people, men and women, working at Blizzard. Thanks to them I have a family too.

Thanks for the gifts, Blizzard, and thanks for everything.

And a special thanks to Xablyss and the French community team, for an answer that went straight to my heart ! ♥

(Also special thanks to my friend Ailone who helped me to write it in english !)

I'd love if more characters could choose their trait like Kharazim.

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 04:52 PM PDT

Kind of a wasted oportunity with kharazim to not make him choose between d3's mantras but the idea is great. I can think of lots of characters where that would be usefull. Like a warlock and as your trait you choose your summon for instance imp, voidwalker or succubus. And i think it would be a good idea to implement multi class characters that way, Varian is relatively weak till level 10 and wouldn't it be better to choose right away his trait? his trait in this case being the passive that he gets with level 10, and then the ult would still be at level 10. Or a future multiclass druid where you could choose as your trait right away which transformation you wanna have.

Or having a a mage that is kind of multiclass but not really (would always be an assassin) but a mage that has his 3 abilities that are more or less the same with each trait, the trait would change them slightly, for one the color of the spells would change so it matches and his trait could be to choose what type of magic he does. Example: Arcane: Abilities do more damage but cost more mana. Fire: Abilities do less damage right away but apply a dot. Frost: Abilities do less damage but slow.

Of course the mage idea isn't great because we have KT and Jaina who kind of cover 2 of the 3 but you get the idea.

Sgt. Hammer's worst nightmare!

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 10:38 AM PDT

I think I broke Stukov's Arm

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 01:21 PM PDT

I was playing around with some of Stukov's Lurking Arm talents, and when I got to playing with the talent that lets it linger for 1.5 seconds, when combined with the one that reduces the cooldown at level 7, if you time it right, you can get two Lurking Arm circles out. Both stayed active indefinitely, and the damage stacked in the middle. Highly situational and hard to pull off, but I doubt this is intentional.

Voice lines suck. How can we fix them?

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 09:29 AM PDT

While sprays have become an acceptable BM method in addition to B-stepping, voice lines are still pretty bad.

Since 2.0 launched I think ive used them less than 10 times and I dont even bother changing them in the loadouts anymore. Atm the volume is too low and theres too big of a delay in between usage.

Just off the top of my head, I think increasing the volume and letting us spam them (within reason) would make them more fun. If its really problematic just add a way to squelch voice lines.

In overwatch some of the ways I like being a piece of shit is when playing D.Va to spam the L O L voice line when something funny happens for example.

Math of the Storm: Patch 26.3 (Stukov PTR)

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 08:38 AM PDT

Please show takedowns of D.Va's mech on the kill-feed just like it does with Misha and any of the Lost Vikings (even the short loser one)

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 03:36 AM PDT

A QoL buff. As it stands, you have no clue if she was willingly or unwillingly de-meched and this would make it easier to track if she can jump right back in if your fighting elsewhere.

Also, the short loser Viking is Erik. The weakest chain, that one.

We've had Starcraft maps, Diablo maps, Overwatch map(s), and "original" maps. What World of Warcraft map would you like to see in the game?

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 02:14 PM PDT

Titel. Should it have origins in one of the existing PvP maps in the game? Or should it perhaps be from one of the earlier Warcraft games? I would love to hear you guys' thoughts! :)

Question: Why can't you leave the game permanently after you've had a bot on your team for 5+ minutes?

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 09:40 AM PDT

There is absolutely 0 fun whatsoever in playing 5 games in a row where a teammate on YOUR team dc's and you are forced to play the entire match out with a huge disadvantage.

First time okay I can get it, maybe power went out, 2nd time, whatever, unlucky, but then it happens 3 times more and it really starts to get to you, I don't care if you're the holy grail of inner peace itself, that shit will make you hate the game very fast.

I just wish that after being forced to go through a painstakingly horrible game for 5 minutes with a bot you can be allowed to permanently leave that match.

Thoughts?

Slothcast episode 9 - Tanking Special feat. bkbgrnrjefek

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 11:57 AM PDT

Hello friends! I'm proud to present to you the best Slothcast - a Heroes of the Storm podcast episode to date! Thinking about this episode makes me feel good in all the right places, first and foremost cause of an amazing lineup consisting of bkbgrnrjefek, more known as bkb; renowned warrior and maintank in the european proscene for many years. Then we have Morpheus, that we've been trying to get on the show since like episode 2; continous Grand Master over every season, drafter, shotcaller, Heroes Lounge elite division player and all-around german! Then to finish it up we have everyones favourite flamer, the man responsible for Agents007 "success" the past seasons, Froge.

We of course take a look at the the newest hero to hit the Nexus, Stukov, and discuss the current meta and the dominance of double support. But as everyone on the show this week (except for puny ranged dps Narsha) are warrior players and main tanks for their teams, what better than to do a huge segment on tanking and warriors in Heroes of the Storm! To say it in short: After the discussion even a Grand Master tankplayer said he learned new aspects of the role, and it's all presented in a manner everyone from Bronze to Master will benefit from. Mandatory listening!

We're also happy to announce we finally have the podcast-directory done! That means we are out on iTunes and many other podcast apps so search us up, subscribe for free and maybe give a sexy review. Maybe you even have a favourite podcast service we have overlooked? Cause as usual we appreciate all kinds of feedback, questions, suggestions or bad jokes so give a shout if you got anything on your mind!

Welcome to the best Slothcast episode yet!

Morales auto attacks make the screen flash in dark areas like night phase Garden of Terror and in the Haunted Mines.

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 08:28 AM PDT

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed it, and I don't have any recording software to prove it but I feel like that could be an issue with people that have epilepsy. Also, maybe it was just me but I played 3 games with her last night and every time I was in a dark area the lighting flashed every auto attack. Anyone else notice this?

New Pirate Skins...?

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 06:36 PM PDT

Watching the In Development video and saw some of the sprays had a few interesting takes on heroes...

Don't know if anyone else has seen this but potentially new skins to fit the Pirate theme? (Stukov, Cassia and Falstad already have them)

https://gyazo.com/175a7465e023385fb82ac80efc31af58

There's a pirate murky, a very vicious (and blind) looking Probius, a pirate ship-styled Sgt Hammer, and...

The top left appears to be an awesome shark Greymane.

Blizz, if these aren't gonna be real skins, at least give me the Greymane...

What are your ideas for late game Active talents, like Zul'jin's ensnare, or Xul's bone spear.

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 01:46 PM PDT

Just a fun post to have some fun discussion on ideas for some interesting late game (level 16 - level 20) active talents. I have to say, a lot of these talents are my favorites in the game, they feel flavorful and they add some interesting gameplay.

Also, recently there's been a lot of heroes with only 3 talents at 20 (which makes only 2 pickable), so I wanted to spark some discussion on ideas that could make level 20 talent tiers feel a bit bigger.

So, here's my idea for illidan!

Illidan - Eye Beam (replaces bolt of the storm)

Charge up to channel over 3 seconds, dealing heavy ability damage in a line in front of you. 30 second cooldown.

Just a simple big laser eye beam for Illidan, just like the DH ability in wow. Kind of similar to li-ming's laser, except this one is thicker and shorter.

Share your ideas!

[BUG] Nazeebo's Zombie Wall Disabled Entire Game

Posted: 04 Jul 2017 04:18 PM PDT

This is the first time I've encountered or heard about this bug, but it definitely ruined a perfectly good HL game for me.

Shortly after I hit level 10, I used my Zombie Wall somewhere and then it never came back off cooldown. It appeared with a crossed out icon for the rest of the game like this: http://imgur.com/a/Qe4aw. I don't remember the circumstances of the last time I cast it before it bugged out.

Nothing I did would bring it back. Finally I closed to desktop and restarted the game and it was back (but my team had somehow gone from one level up to three levels down in the time I was gone). Of course we lost and my team blamed me, which I can't say I blame them for, but what was I supposed to do?

Blizzard - please address this problem. It was absolutely miserable and I would not wish it on anyone.

[Edit]: I did have the Dead Rush talent, which could have something to do with it I suppose. Not sure, but thought it might be worth mentioning.
