| My Predictions for Cards in KFT Posted: 13 Jul 2017 08:03 PM PDT Don't like having to wait for all the spicy new cards to be revealed? No worries mate! These cards are pretty likely (determined by trademarked hearthstone RNG of course) to appear in any and all upcoming expansions and are sure to facilitate poignant discussion and speculation. Enjoy! | My buddy's girlfriend made him into a Legendary that suits his play style Posted: 14 Jul 2017 06:10 AM PDT Recently my non-Redditor pal's girlfriend (an artist) gifted him a personalized Legendary. He's a rabid Hearthstone fan so it totally floored him. I think it came out great, thought this crowd might appreciate it. [link] [comments] | ||

| Hearthstone Legend Card Back Minimal Mobile Wallpaper Posted: 14 Jul 2017 07:54 AM PDT Hi there! I usually do not make wallpapers related to Hearthstone, even though it's a game I love and I play daily, but this time I wanted to give it a try so, there you go! If you do not like it, it's okay. I made it for myself and just wanted to share it with this great community. Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
| Unique Entrance Lines for Hero Death Knight Cards When You Play with Alternate Heroes Posted: 14 Jul 2017 06:51 AM PDT I would be OK with there not being unique Death Knight cards for the alternate heroes (Morgl, Liadrin, Tyrande, Magni) if, when you play your Warrior Hero Card for example, an undead Garrosh smashes through Magni's hero portrait and says "YOU ARE WEAK DWARF" or something along those lines...Something to acknowledge the Hero you've had for the first 6+ turns. edit: Grommash -> Garrosh [link] [comments] | ||

| Nine Golden Heroes, or, How I Learned to (Almost) Love Every Class Posted: 14 Jul 2017 12:01 AM PDT Picture: https://m.imgur.com/fPAanuF?r I've been playing this game since open beta, approximately three and a half years ago. I'd always loved CCGs, born and raised surrounded by Magic back in the 90s. MTG has always been, to me, the best designed game of all time, at least mechanically speaking... but the problem was it was such a pain to play. Not only was it expensive, you had to assemble the cards physically, sleeve them, drive somewhere else to play, hope other players had decks that were either competitive enough or not competitive at all, depending on your situation... And then Hearthstone came out; my favorite style of game from my favorite game company. I was in heaven, and even all these years later, it's still my favorite game to play. So why not, here's a retrospective of my experiences with all nine classes at the times I got them golden, in order of the accomplishment. HUNTER Way back in the GVG days, around the time of Undertaker Hunter, I decided I finally wanted a golden hero. My favorite classes were Rogue and Warrior, but Hunter was so overpowered (and easy to play) that I decided to dedicate the majority of my time playing primarily this class. I wasn't all that great at the game these days. Most of my memories involve pre-nerfed Leeroy, Buzzard, and UTH shenanigans. Honestly, playing the class these days, it seems a bit simple and not my preference anymore... but I'll always think fondly of the class that helped me learn so much about value, tempo, and most importantly, the ability to SMORC. Rating the golden hero art, I'd give Rexxar a 7/10. Cool smoke effect, but not quite as dynamic as some of the other heroes. WARRIOR Wow, now this one took forever. My favorite deck for probably 18 months was control warrior. The most amount of wins came in the League of Explorers through WotOG expansions, where I played nonstop Golden Monkey and C'Thun decks. Some of my fondest memories were from this time, but also some of my biggest rages. Spending literally 40 minutes only to lose to Elise RNG could get pretty tilting. Around this time, I had developed into a much better player, consistently finishing at rank 5, occasionally getting even higher. Perhaps my favorite class in the game, I overall enjoyed leveling him up. I give the Garrosh golden art a 10/10, best one in the game. ROGUE I hit Rogue while in the hospital as my son was being born. When I played WOW back as a teenager, I was a Rogue, so it was actually the first class I ever played back when HS first came out. The majority of my wins came during WotOG and Karazhan, playing primarily deathrattle decks with Unearthed Raptor and N'zoth. Once again, I was stuck in that Rank 5-3 type range, mostly from mentally psyching myself out, I think. I'd give Valeera's golden animation an 8/10. Actually very underrated on nice-looking screens, as the stealth effect adds quite a lot. Rogue is probably my favorite class, these days. WARLOCK It's surprising I hit Warlock golden so quickly compared to other classes, honestly. I've always liked it but it was never really a favorite throughout most of my Hearthstone "career," but I fell absolutely in love with Renolock in the MSG days. Played it non stop, along with some Discardlock to switch it up when I got close to the 500 goal. I'd give the golden art a 4/10, honestly very underwhelmed compared to many of the others - though, then again, I've never liked that art of Gul'dan anyway. Much cooler interpretations of him out there. Enjoyable ride to 500, for the most part. SHAMAN I participated in the dark side quite a bit during MSG, playing pirate shaman all the way to my first ever Legend appearance in December, right before they added in ranked floors. Honestly, I love Shaman gameplay for the most part, but the Midrange decks that plagued the meta in the Karazhan era, especially, were incredibly dull. Probably half my wins with the class were with silly Elemental Destruction decks... I love that card irrationally. I give Thrall's golden art a 6/10 - the blue ball is cool, but that's about all there is to it. Honestly, the entire second half of the run to 500 would have been a bit of a drag if I wasn't so focused on the hitting-legend-aspect. MAGE Most of my memories of mage come from original freeze builds way back in classic. I finally got her golden recently, in Un'Goro, and had a blast playing the various meta mage decks that came out since. This class has always been fairly pleasing to play for me when done in control variants, but I've never enjoyed the tempo styles outside of the recent Secret Mage builds. Overall a fun experience to go the full 500. I'd give golden Jaina 8/10. The rain and Kirin Tor symbol look great. DRUID This was my least favorite class in the entire game for the majority of Hearthstone's existence. I've always hated Green in MTG, so I suppose it makes sense I wouldn't like Druid. But... for some reason... I fell in love with Jade Druid. I went from probably 70ish wins up to like 350 just in MSG alone, and it changed my entire feeling around the class. I then created my own Token Druid deck which I took to Legend for the 2nd time ever, which was pretty cool. Funny to say that this was one of the fastest, most enjoyable golden grinds of them all, despite my hatred of it for so long. Golden Malfurion is, in my eyes, the most underrated of all the golden heroes. It's really simple compared to others, but the sky going from a crappy white/grey to blue makes everything look 100x better: 9/10. PRIEST Okay, now we get to the miserable parts. I hate Priest. Always have, always will. About the only fun things I've ever experienced with the class involve when I first started out playing Hearthstone through Voljin (who I just thought looked awesome) and... uh.... well Lyra is kind of fun, too. This is a class I doubt I'll play much at all anymore, unless they change quite a bit. I don't like the idea of playing with my opponent's cards, I don't like the idea of hero powering and passing on turn 8, I don't like having 7 cards in hand that are all missing their combo partner.... it's just not the class for me. Anduin is by far the most annoying hero to me, too, so it was a blessing when Tyrande came out. I give golden Anduin a 2/10, his animations are boring to me, and Tyrande just looks better in every way. I did hit legend for the 3rd time while playing Miracle Priest all the way up to rank 2 or so, though, so I guess that's something praise-worthy. PALADIN Saved the worst for last. Holy shit this class is boring. It seems no matter what expansion we're in, Paladin can't get an archetype that interests me. For one, the theme is bonkers. Why is their primary tribe Murlocs? Why is their entire gameplan revolved around just playing on curve or playing boring control matches where the only win condition is playing Tirion? I hate everything about the class. Trying to grind out the final wins for this, recently, have made me borderline hate the game, but now that it's over, I feel great. Golden Uther is a 5/10. Totally average and forgettable to me. I love this game. This sub gives it complaints all the time, but I'll always be appreciative of it. I've sunken countless hours and WAY too much money into this game, but it's honestly about as good as it's ever been these days, and I'm super excited to see what's in store going forward. Now I'm going to sit down and reflect on the fact that as soon as I got every hero golden, Blizzard is releasing an expansion devoted to replacing your heroes..... sigh. Thanks for reading :D [link] [comments] | ||

| TIL The meaning of Eater of secret's voice line Posted: 13 Jul 2017 10:04 AM PDT I started playing Hearthstone a couple months after The Old Gods was released, and today I just realized that "I know who you are" counters Mysterious Challenger's "Who am I? None of your business!" Though this has most likely been noticed already, I thought I'd share it. [link] [comments] |
