Best thing to come from replaying Orr personal story.

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 12:17 PM PDT

So I'm redoing personal story and I'm in an Orr instance where you go underground. And in a "spiral" ramp way there's the coral you see everywhere in Orr. except, there's this one group of coral that's particularly close together. And if you stand at the end of the ramp and look at it from the side.

It's an undead coral mural of an undead chicken http://imgur.com/2mZRLZu

[SAND] is 2 years old today! Come join us this weekend!

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 02:05 PM PDT

Hey all! That's No Tornado, aka [SAND], is 2 years old! We've got almost 400 T6's under our belt, and a smattering of HoT meta completions, too! We've had a steady stream of support from not only our members, but from all of you in the GW2 community. I am grateful for all of the fun, help, Anakin jokes, and joy that being part of the Dry Top community has given me. To celebrate our birthday this year, we have a few events this weekend! All of you are invited to join in with us for some prizes during our events, so turn your map chat on! Our first event starts 4 hours from the time this was posted. We are based in the NA servers.

Friday July 21st: Achievement Run @ 6 pm PST - This will be our first event coming up in four hours. It's going to be a leisurely time with a few of us out there to help folks with achievements they're still missing! This will include llamas, Lost Coins, and the Jumping Puzzle. If you're late, no worries!

Saturday July 22nd: Birthday Dry Top @ 12 - 2 pm PST & 6 - 9 pm PST - This is our bread and butter, a fun several hours of organized Dry Top! We'll have an open Discord and some other shenanigans. ;) Our brothers and sisters in [DTOP] will be out there joining us!

Sunday July 23rd: Dry Top Map Completion @ 3 pm PST - Exactly as it sounds! We'll have some of us out there helping folks map out new characters and earn those pesky Hero Points. We'll wait a bit before starting for any late-comers!

Our website drytopsand.com has the details and schedule, as well as our Discord! We're excited to celebrate our 2nd Birthday with all of you. We believe in a fun and interactive approach to making Dry Top an engaging experience for everyone who walks across its dusty plains in search of that elusive Geode; thank you for being part of making that possible!

The Pilgrimage To Arah!

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 04:04 PM PDT

Hello everyone! Its that time again! The Pilgrimage to Arah! (NA) 22-23. Remember if you live on the other side of the hemisphere that means you are a day ahead of us! Last time we did this event we went for 10 hours on Saturday, and 12 hours on Sunday. I believe our new player record was Bought the game yesterday, gained 34 levels and now I'm in Orr today So thats pretty cool.

So on Saturday at 10 am PDT/ 11 am MDT 12 pm CDT/ 1 pm EDT we'll meet in Metrica Province. Remember that you should join my squad at least for the initial squad pull. Brother Drake. To join you can type into your chat /sqjoin Brother Drake. If that doesnt work PM me and we'll get you settled.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/introducing-the-megaserver-system/

The Pilgrimage to Arah is a player made community event. For new, old, F2P players, and is RP friendly. What we do is as a ZERG run across the world on a route I've made. Exploring, discovering, showing secrets, we also do events, HP's etc as we go. On the first day depending on rate of travel. We'll do Metrica, Caledon, Kessex, Queens, Gendarren, Lornars, Snowden, FrostGorge, Fireheart, Ironmarches, Blazeridge, Plains, and with luck we'll camp for the night at Black Citadel. Then Sunday, continue from Citadel to Diessa, Wayfarer, Dredghaunt, Timberline, Maelstrom, Straits, Malchors, Cursed shore. Hope to see you there! -Brother Drake

With the season 3 finale next week let`s talk about the rift current event (Gillscale Pond)

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 02:49 PM PDT

With the season 3 finale next week and expansion short time after it is likely that we will not see any new current events which are not expansion related. But a dev said that there are parts of the adventure, which have not been released yet dev comment . With the current event team being very quiet lately what do you think how they want to handle that?

I have a certain respect for those people who got World Completion before all the QoL improvements

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 02:25 PM PDT

... and I don't mean just Gliding, though that's obviously a big thing. Like the improvements to Ranger pets (they help a bunch during hearts that use Environmental Weapons) and even power creep, which makes the low-level areas much quicker to do.

I'm doing it now and I'm finding it difficult (not hard to actually do, it's easy; just hard to maintain interest over such a long task). I'm just about to hit 50% and I'm thinking of how much longer it took to get all those vistas without gliding.

[qT] Cairn 6:39 Left

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 06:35 AM PDT

Hey!

Since there was a balance patch quite soon after our last Cairn Speedkill, we knew the time could be pushed quite a bit further, and so we did just that!

POV's

Padl File:https://www.padl.tk/u/XJzIgmkFIdqE

Raidheroes File:http://dps.report/8Mat-20170720-230511_cairn

Profession PoV
Engineer Louis
Engineer Eldar
Thief Deathly
Thief Patrick
Warrior Kenzo
Revenant Main Nuky
PS Druid Bass
Druid Muju
Chrono Contam
Chrono Card

Some important notes about our tactic for those interested:

  • Since our group damage was high enough, we were able to kill Cairn within 2 spatial manipulation attacks (Green circles). The first large green spawns quite close to the boss so we were able to go to this without losing much damage, however the second set of circles we faced was ignored through timed stability from druid's Spirit of nature. This allowed us to stay on the boss at all times.

  • Our group DPS was high enough to prevent Cairn from jumping around at any point, so the boss was kept in the centre 100% of the time. Interestingly, this makes torment double tick damage on him as if he was moving which makes Condition revenant an extremely strong DPS choice for this strategy, and encounter in general. For the same reasons, our condi thieves used the torment venom instead of caltrops which resulted in slightly higher DPS.

  • As 1 of our druids was Minstrel, he was able to provide 15-18 might consistently through Warhorn 5, traited frost spirit and jungle stalker. Condition revenant also provided quite some might through Mace 3 double blasting fields which allowed us to replace one PS warrior with a full DPS revenant which was quite a huge DPS increase.

  • Both our chronomancers ran full DPS condi gear, and chained their timewarps outside of continum split to upkeep quickness for the group.

Any questions/Feedback are appreciated as always

Show us your Necros r/Guildwars2!

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 06:36 AM PDT

Hi All,

From what I can see in the history the last Necro showcase was about 8 months ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/5a8vlz/hey_guys_show_us_your_necros/) and I figured we could have a little refresher thread for any up and coming Necros that want to show off their characters.

I love the fashion wars aspect of this game and love to see everyones creativity. Come one, come all. Lets see those beautiful soul reapers.

Currently at work but I'll be posting my lovely norn later today.

4u2play removed the previous page and added one with a timer for 26.07; the initial price was 35 usd.

A few questions about Burn Guardian for WvW

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 06:18 PM PDT

Hi all, the recent WVW Tier List post inspired me to make a Burn Guardian. Apparently it's considered the top of the tier list for WvW. I'm a little confused though, because this is the MetaBattle Build for Burn Guard for WvW. It uses I couldn't find any YouTube examples that use this same build. This build uses Staff and Scepter/Torch, whereas most YouTube videos use Sword/Shield and Scepter/Torch.

Here are my questions:

what is this?

Looking for friends. Playing alone

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 05:23 PM PDT

As the title suggests i am looking for anyone to just be around, talk about the game as i learn it. I'm so far a level 20 warrior. I have SO MUCH STUFF from login bonus sitting in my bank. I have heart of thorns. to my understanding people can play across worlds besides pvp?

Magnanimous Sharpening Stones and Minstrel Chrono

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 10:21 AM PDT

Can anyone tell me why Minstrel chrono doesn't run the magnanimous sharpening stone?

Its about 4% more boon duration with full minstrel gear, which means they can run herald runes and two plat doubloons in exotic earrings to get 99% boon duration without sigil of concentration, while maintaining 2.3k toughness and adding protection uptime to their subgroup.

Like this: The build

I'm sure there is a reason, but I can't see it yet

Who else gets sick of Taimi knowing the answer to all Tyrias problems?

Posted: 20 Jul 2017 05:33 PM PDT

It's starting to feel as if all the other characters in tyria are taking a sideline to the deus ex machina that is Taimi. I get that she's cute and has witty answers to alot of problems. But it seems as if the writers want her to solve most if not all of the problems.

Very rarely do we see the norn or the humans, let alone the charr knowing whats best to do in a situation or being able to pull from their own histories on how best to solve a situation. This isn't to say that it never happens. But the amount of problems that it would seem that Taimi solves is overwhelming in comparison.

I just wish that the devs would incorporate more of the other races solving problems.

Is Cantrips Core Elementalist still viable for WvW open field Zerg fights?

Posted: 21 Jul 2017 06:17 PM PDT

I'm at one of those moments where I want to take a break from my main class and try out one of those other classes to freshen things up.

One hour from WvW reset and I'm rushing to cobble a build up for my Elementalist. Bear in mind I'm a total noob at elementalist...have less than 50 hours of active gameplay on her...

I've read the Metabattle Auramancer guide but it's not really the playstyle I prefer. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Tempest_-_Midline_Auramancer

Wanted to ask if core elementalist is still viable? I prefer to play back-line full DPS (berserker or viper) staff elementalist...possibily with cantrips?

Would this work fine? How can I fine-tune it further?

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWhMMowhVOwzBsSMQAYRBIAsAkTwEIGSZhjQUA-TlhFwANVaYS9HN6AIt/AAlg0UmBA-w

Thanks in advance!
