Story time.

So me and a few friends where playing last night on a server we've been frequenting. We usually have good experiences with others. We chat, trade or just leave each other to go about our business. Until last night..

Out of the 4 of us playing 2 were bambies to the game so us experienced players where showing them the basics (Apple tree scavenging, hunting, buildings to loot etc) We were in Gorka gathering some basics when a squad of 3 decided to shoot at me when I walked out of a house. Missing. Every. Shot. Bare in mind I wasnt even fully geard (I had a handgun with a mag and a Axe and a few other bits) so they didnt have to shoot.

After missing their shots and chasing me for a minute they decided to start calling out "Friendly friendly". Like I'd believe that. The quick thinking of my other experienced squad member who had placed himself in full view of me running took out one guy chasing me so his friends scattered into the trees. We aren't total noobs to the game so we had a feeling we knew they were flanking us so we out flanked them. We waited at the top of the hill we had a feeling they were coming over and little did they know the would walk right into our trap. One headshot from my headgun and it went right to a 2v1 situation in our favour. He stood no chance as my friend unloaded his AK into his back as he ran.

We werent without casualtes though as we lost a bambie in the commotion as he ran straight up to a dead body to loot while the last guy was still there. Noob Move.

So, if youre reading this Gorka guys. Thanks for the SKS, Mosin with scope, MP5 with mag and numerous other gifts. Next time. Dont shoot first and try talk to people. You never know who you'll come up against

Tanning Leather Alternatives

IMO, there needs to be alternative methods for tanning leather. Currently EVERYONE is hiding their barrels in trees and they're never to be seen again 2 days after a wipe.

Because tanning leather requires a barrel, it sucks that we can't make animal based products, such as leather backpacks because of one item that is never to be seen again soon after a reset, it would be nice if we could use something much more common / accessible to people without an established camp on a server

Karma's a bitch

OK so I just had the best experience ever. I was in a firefight although I didn't do too much. That fire fight was the most exciting amazing firefight I had ever had. All I had was nothing but military clothes and an AK-74 chambered. A guy was in the military base I was in and he had a shotgun. I tried to make friends but he just shot me twice and knocked me out. But he didn't realize I was unconscious so as he looted me he swapped out his gun for my gun. After he was done he realized I wasn't dead and started punching me right when I got up. He was hitting me in the head but the helmet he left on me saved me from getting knocked out. I ran away and he chased me. I ran into a jailhouse/camo building, closed the doors and ran upstairs. I had nothing but a leather sewing kit to sew myself up. I used it and then I threw three flash bangs downstairs. But no one was downstairs! That was when I heard this on the Agroed zombie outside. I instantly knew he was occupied so I ran out and sprinted down the mountain. As I was running away he happened to run behind the broken wall next to me and didn't realize I passed him. (Like 1m away from him) I ran down with nothing but a double barrel with two shots. I realized I had nothing left to live for so I ran up with my two shots to try and take on the guy with the full auto AK-74. But when I ran up he was nowhere to be found. I went into the tent camp and that's when I saw him. He didn't notice me so I took the first shot hit and then missed the second shot. I pulled out my axe thinking he would pass out from the blow. I looked around the corner of the wall and I saw him and another fully geared guy circling a tank. When they came out on the same side they both full-auto-ed into each other, and the guy that I had shot killed the other guy. But that other guy weakened him so he passed out. And I walked up to him with my axe. and hit them straight in the head to give the final blow. Now I have a fully loaded AK 74, A fully loaded AKM, and an Alice pack. Karma really is a bitch.

Any way to get on Zelenogorsk train carriages?

In the Zelenogorsk military trainyard, there are two containers on top of train carriages which are separated from the platform. Is there any way to get up there? I saw an ak today that I would have really liked... There are small ladder things on the side but they aren't climbable, and jumping didn't seem to work either.

Crashed v3s in 1mm thick little tree 3km/h

Baterry ruined.. np 1 hour spent found it finaly..v3s didnt start, saw gass was allmost empty, decided to refuell it to 1/2, still wont start even tho i am 100% sure everything is in it in order to start... wtf?

Looking for a youtube video of a flying bus & crash

I can't find it. I found it through the suggested videos tab on youtube, when I was binge watching various "funny hacker in Dayz" type videos. It synced up PERFECTLY with the intro to Quake 2 because they both have a pilot losing control and crashing, and I was going to download it and make something funny, and now it's gone and I'm losing my goddamn mind looking for it.

It won't be newer than late 2015 or early 2016, as that's when I found it. I think it was older than that. It starts with a player on a small rise overlooking a village, and a bus lands a minute or so in, and he gets into it with other people. It flies around, and problems happen. It crashes into a large factory after looping around. The player stands for a second away from the factory, then is dead.

There was a link to either a reddit page or the dayz forums or possibly a clan's forums, where the video recorder talked a bit about it. Despite this I can't find this discussion anywhere on google. I'm pretty sure he mentioned switching seats or trying to switch seats or something to do with the final crash.

I don't know if this is against the rules or what but if anyone can help me find this I'll give them $20 or donate it to the charity of their choice. I can't handle not being able to find this or that it could be some mandela effect or me losing my mind.

The bus is a normal bus. Nothing was stuck to it.

Playing on Ultrabook - How CPU is DayZ still?

I've had to buy an ultra book for work (on the move) and manage a whopping 30fps at pretty low settings. I'd like to plug into an external screen and play at 1080 but not entirely sure if thats going to be doable. Is DayZ still very CPU reliant? I have a 3.3ghz i5 (but the U class) and no GPU (apart from the Iris). Would an eGPU make much of a difference? Anyone with a similar set up? (And yeah, I know the real best solution would be a proper gaming desktop). Thanks.

Edit-Conclusion: buying A2 to play dayZ and if that doesn't do it I will get Standalone, if that doesn't do it... SHIT.
