I got an Etsy request for a custom perler Sage window of Saria, here's the result! Posted: 11 Jun 2017 05:51 AM PDT It was quite a challenge, because every pixel would increase the size by 0.5cm. And it had to be shipped internationally and not be a huge window. [link] [comments] |

How would you guys feel if Nintendo ditched the Green Tunic? Posted: 11 Jun 2017 03:17 AM PDT Like, not even as a bonus or easter egg like in BotW, they just drop it all together. Personally I would miss it, but it wouldn't affect the game too much for me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jun 2017 09:55 PM PDT And man, I loved it. A much different Zelda experience, but it seemed very modern. Being able to jump and climb gave the world a level of interaction I've never seen. I liked the RPG elements, and the challenging combat made me strive to get stronger. The story could have used some improvement, and the 4 dungeons were rather shorter than I'd like, but overall an incredibly enjoyable experience. One of the greatest games I've ever played, and definitely one of the most important games in this series. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jun 2017 01:37 PM PDT It's a shame that BoTW doesn't outline the completed side quests in alphabetical order. Because of this, it's a pain to find which side quests still need to be completed. Here's an excel file that you can use to calculate your missing side quests. All you have to do is replace my data in column G with your own completed quests list, and the formula will do the rest. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Dy7YMPvpCFMDhvREtLNkdfOGs/view Here's a pic of what the spreadsheet looks like in case you want to see what it looks like without downloading the Excel file: Edit: When you are inputting the names of your completed quests, please refer to column C (hidden) for spelling/punctuation, not column B. Column B is from IGN, and there are a few typos from the IGN writer. Column C was written according to the way that the quests are spelled/punctuated in the game's quest log. If you're in doubt, just spell the quest exactly as it appears in the game's quest log. [link] [comments] |

Just finished BOTW. Such a great game! Posted: 11 Jun 2017 12:07 AM PDT What a great game! I got it Day 1 but took my time because I didn't want it to end. It's definitely in my top 3 Zelda games. One experience that surprised me was finding the original entrance to the Great Plateau after defeating Ganon. Seeing it how an average Hyrulean would have seen it on a pilgrimage, instead of the initial view we get from the Shrine of Resurrection, completely changed my perspective of the plateau and made it feel like it was really part of Hyrule with it real history rather than just the tutorial area. I'm still a member of the Prince Sidon fan club: Hetsu, Mipha, and Kass eat your heart out. Zelda was a challenge and a wonderful surprise this time around. I couldn't stand her while gathering the memories. I screamed when she said the Sheikah Slate and the Shrines were meant for the hero but she would find a way around it. Knowing the world was at stake, she decided her ego was more important! Even after seeing people say her diary makes her more sympathetic I was like "meh" when I read it. I wasn't as irritated with her as before but I still didn't like her. It wasn't until the final memory it all came together for me. I've seen people ask if she had the complete Triforce in the end and I think she did. I think her transformation from self-centered princess to selfless savior was the entire point of the game. She was destined to have the Triforce of Wisdom, she gained the Triforce of Courage when Link dies/was dying either through happenstance or because she had the courage to face a guardian to save him, and she took the Triforce of Power from Ganon when she exited his body (my interpretation). This is finally a game about the Legend of Zelda - the Princess that directly saved Hyrule. Speaking of the legendary princess. I smiled at the nod to the Zelda II princess in King Rhoam's journal but it made me task does this game did take place after Zelda II, or at least after the actual legendary Zelda. For those that don't know, Zelda II tasked Link with saving an ancient Princess Zelda. Long story short, she was in a cursed slumber and her brother decreed that every female born to the royal family be named Zelda in rememberance. The king says she was named Zelda per tradition. The way it's said seems more like an edict. I'm still looking at you Tetra, you eventually become "Zelda". Other thoughts. I loved the Gerudos but I've always loved them. Easily my favorite race. I was disappointed with the Sheikahs and Kakariko Village. I was hoping for more mystical and magical elements and instead we got a normal village full of normal people. It wasn't until the last memory that the Sheikah seemed kinda special but not really. I thought the Koroks were adorable. Their hide-and-seek game was too cute. "What could this random pile of leaves in the middle of the tundra be?" and "I know! I'll hide under this rock on top of this big mountain. Hetsu will never find me. Teehee!!" was the epitome of what every 3 year old thinks when they decide to hide under a blanket in the middle of a floor. I'm no where close to 900 but it's still cute. Oh yeah, King Rhoam was jerk but you can't really blame him. The Yiga were right. Team Yiga. The Rito are completely forgettable, except Kass of course. The Gorons too. The only real questions I have are what happens next. Vah Ruta stopped working. Why? I haven't seen any theories about Faron jungles. C'mon people there are ruins with symbols and trees there. I expected more from you!! [link] [comments] |
New web-based interactive checklist for BotW Posted: 10 Jun 2017 09:12 PM PDT While there are a lot of useful resources now for items in Breath of the Wild, I don't think I've seen an interactive checklist for keeping track of progress in BotW. So, I've started making one. Right now, it can track is quests and armor, weapons, and shields. Eventual plans include shrines, armor upgrades, probably koroks, and possibly locations. The site is here: https://iversc.github.io/breath-of-the-wild-cheat-sheet/ I've based it on the same checklist done for Dark Souls 3 by ZKjellberg: [link] [comments] |

Final boss fight is more interesting when... (BOTW) Posted: 10 Jun 2017 10:54 PM PDT A lot of people had been complaining about how easy and disappointing the calamity Ganon fight was. However, I've recently finished a new save made for fighting all the Ganons in "rush mode" the castle. I discovered that the blight Ganons all have different attack patterns when fighting in the sanctum compare to their fights in the divine beasts. For example, Thunder Ganon in the second phase can charge up his sword and shield with lightning. On contact with him, I'll get shocked and drop my weapon and shield. The same strategy I used to beat him in the divine beast doesn't work here at the sanctum. It took me a lot of tries before realizing only a well timed perfect dodge can get to him. Calamity Ganon is also more challenging when you don't have divine beasts to help. I find his melee and range attack patterns more threatening than he was before, and alternating different elements more cleverly. He even goes into the red invincible mode at 50% hp instead of 10%. He also can use the thunder ganon's metal pillar lightning aoe, which I never saw him use that before. Overall, I think the full power Ganon fights, including the blights altogether, are on par with the Final boss fights in other Zelda games, in difficulty and creativity. [link] [comments] |
Finished my first playthrough. Posted: 10 Jun 2017 08:07 PM PDT General shit post, I know how many of these must exist. Buuuut. Holy fuck was this a great deviation from other Zelda games. It wasn't perfect, no game is, but I never expected a game to rival oot as my favorite in the series as much as this one. To the point where the only thing stopping me from declaring it my favorite is the test of time, something oot has proven to beat time and time again. It was so different, but still Zelda.
