An in-game method to notify players you are interested in participating in a raid.

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 07:55 AM PDT

I feel like this game needs a method/visual that shows you are interested in participating in a raid so that you can notify players to join you in the battle. For example, I can walk up to a Lv. 4 gym, set up some kind of beacon that other players would be able to see, and try to get others to participate. I haven't been able to take on a raid with anyone yet since I don't have any friends that still play and don't have a Facebook group to find people who are interested. Right now I'm just kind of stuck hoping someone else shows up to the gym and they never do.

Award stardust for returning defenders after 50 coin limit reached

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 07:09 AM PDT

When the daily 50 coin limit has been reached, all additional defenders that return during that day should instead give a small amount of stardust proportional to their time spent defending. Of course there would also be some daily limit on the stardust I am assuming, but this would further encourage players to be active in their local gym scene beyond just getting a few gyms for their daily 50. It would also help address the issue many have with stardust shortages especially in the new gym system while not being overpowered or very difficult to implement.

[IDEA] "You have fewer than the recommended number of players for this raid... (Refund Raid Pass?) (Battle Anyway)"

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 09:39 AM PDT

It's a simple fix for the problem of not knowing if you should use your raid pass or not. With no way to scout whether people are there or not, something needs to be done. The 'feel bad' experience when you end up being the only one at a level 4 gym and you wait there for an hour and nobody shows up... It's not good.

Raids have a recommended number of players. If the timer ticks down and reaches 0 (10?) then it could ask you this question. This would also serve as a ready check to make sure everyone is ready right before the battle.

"You have fewer than the recommended number of players for this raid..."

(Refund Raid Pass)

(Quit and Wait)

(Battle Anyway)

-side rant- Feel absolutely cheated into buying an extra raid pass because of this issue. I should never be made to feel bad about purchases in game. And don't even get me started on rural player issues where there are no pokestops having to buy pokeballs...

edit: minor text fix

[Idea] Reward stardust instead of revives for raids

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 04:30 PM PDT

I'm sure a lot of people like myself are pretty starved of dust since the new update. I spent 4 hours grinding it today and only got around 30k, though after checking my bag afterwards, I had 90+ revives.

I understand the reasoning behind rewarding revives after a raid, but with the fact that they're so common and you can now collect them at your raid location (given you haven't already completed it) I feel dust would be a better fit. If people still want revives, even adding dust to the reward pool would be a nice addition.

[PSA] Raid Passes

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 06:14 AM PDT

I haven't seen many talk about it so I figured I'd let anyone know that doesn't

  1. If you don't use a raid pass today you can save it and use it tomorrow and then collect tomorrows and raid again. Thus as long as you have a raid pass on hand when you start a new day. You can raid up to two times in that day for free. Edit: Also premium raid passes stack, dailies do not. u/zslay3r

  2. If you're in a raid with one other player and one of you dies, as long as one is still in the battle the other can come right back in with a new full party. My gf and beat a level 3 raid using this strategy.
Edit 2: u/darkwolfie117 also confirmed you can back out when solo before your 6th Pokémon dies, refresh your party and jump back into the raid without the raid Pokémon reverting back to full health. Note: there's a small window of time to do this

  3. Once you use a raid pass, you can raid battle that gym as many times as you want until you win, even if the game crashes. You can restart and join back in. Once you win you cannot interact with the gym until the raid is over. Once you win the raid battle you will get premier pokeballs. You can attempt to catch the Pokémon you battled with these balls and the berries you own. Once the premier balls run out, the Pokémon flees and you miss your chance of catching it. If you initially skip the bonus challenge you can come back at any time before the raid ends and still attempt to catch it.

  4. Anyone can join a raid battle, contributions are tallied by team and awards/premium balls(to catch raid boss) are distributed based on the contributions.

  5. You get a raid pass by spinning any GYM DISC not pokestop. If you do not receive a gym pass from one you either a. Already have one b. Not a high enough level to participate in raid battles yet.

Other FAQ about the update:

Gyms

  1. When you battle a gym you take down pokemons motivation meter as you would have taken down the gym level pre update. Pokemon motivation also decreases over time. This can be prolonged by feeding them berries when the physically close to the gym. You can also feed other members of the gym (your team) to keep them in the gym longer. You get items/stardust/candy when you do this.

  2. Once the gym is conquered you can add your pokemon in there. Pokemon are placed in the gym by the order they are added not their CP.

  3. You collect 1 coin every 10 minutes for every Pokémon that is defending a gym. You only recieve the coins when your Pokémon is defeated and removed from the gym.

  4. The max you can receive in a day is 50 coins and they do not stack over days. You only will get a max of 50 coins PER DAY no matter how many Pokémon you had in the gym and no matter how long they were there for.

I hope I'm not beating a dead horse and I apologize if I am.

Anyone else want a Double Everything Event for the Launch Anniversary?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 02:20 PM PDT

The games been out for a year. Anyone who is still playing, like me, is truly dedicated to the game. Reward us, Niantic, with a double everything event.

Double Xp Double candy Double walking distance for Eggs/Buddies Double stardust (Double coins is probably too much to ask lol)

Another thing is I really don't mind paying for raid passes. Honestly I already bought 40$ worth, but how about an unlimited raid day. Just to get the whole community hyped about raids.

Just some ideas what do you think the year event will be?

[Discussion] When my Dragonite finally comes back from the gym

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 06:32 PM PDT

Just needed to share how rewarding the game is for me now after the update

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 04:59 AM PDT

I've read on other posts that other people are feeling like me. I would usually walk my eggs, flip a stop every now and then, maybe catch one or two mons on the way to work, glance over overpowered gyms...
If I was feeling confident, I'd take down a rival gym, like once a week. Prestige and try get a mon into a gym once or twice a week... or none. So I could afford an incubator every 2-3 months. The whole gym thing made no sense to me, as I'm working more as a collector (gotta catch 'em all, you know).
The day the update came out I got my 50 coins, and another 20 the following day. It felt amazing.
Also, the variety of pokemon in gyms is just beautiful to look at, as it should be.
And to top it all, I just participated in my first raid, fighting side by side with you guys, and got myself an awesome Tyranitar.
Bless this update. Every time I'm starting to quit the game, something comes up that makes it appealing again, but this update just fixed gyms for me and took them to a whole new level. Well done.

[Story] So this is how Pokemon GO has changed my life...

Raid passes as number of stars (raid tier lever) instead of just 1 raid.

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 02:12 PM PDT

I think it would be better if the raid pass is instead a number of stars. Lets say each pass is worth 5 stars so you can join either 1 tier 5 raid or a 4 and 1 or 5 1 tier raids. Maybe someone can explain it better but that's the idea also it will be easier to come with something like this for premium passes. What do you think?

(Idea) A gift for when you hit the date you first started playing.

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 01:27 PM PDT

I think that every year when you hit the date you first started playing Pokemon Go you should get a "Birthday Gift" or something of the sort for customer loyalty. Many of us are about to hit that date soon.

Dratini/Larvitar/Mareep/Chansey should be in Level1/2 RAID

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 04:00 AM PDT

I mean we have a chance to catch him even 1 times a day I've never seen a larvitar before, not even a silhouette. And my only chansey Hatched from eggs. This will help a lot for newcomer player.

Why does a raid not tell you how many people are there before you waste your money?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 12:48 PM PDT

Found a tyranitar. Proceeded to spend a dollar to get a pass. Give the pass up. I'm the only one there. It was at a kind of popular park too. I wasted a pass due to not being able to see that no one else was there.

[Question] We've been fairly successful in our group meet-ups for raids in the greater Pittsburgh area, how are your efforts to organize trainers going in your city? What factors helped the most to bring people together?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 11:45 AM PDT

I turned on AR to see what the new gyms and raids look like but I ended up just enjoying taking pictures of Pokémon in the zoo.

[FAKE] I made this as a pretty cool looking electric type event tease for my friend. Can i get some opinions? Does it look decently made?
