Diamond in a nutshell

Why is everyone so angry all the time?

Posted: 03 May 2017 06:30 AM PDT

1 game before work

what's the worst that can happen

round 1 nepal we win, by the skin of our teeth, but it was good

round 2 we get stomped by a pharah

junkrat gets pissed soldier didn't kill her

i sit here with gold elims on zarya and 100% charge from all the fucking hog hooks I've saved people from and mourn my existence as junkrat goes widow and proceeds to spend the next 2 rounds running at the enemy team waving and getting killed while berating our soldier for being bad

it's 8 in the morning why are you already so fucking tilted

I say report him for throwing and he laughs saying 'I'm throwing? Our soldier is throwing."

Look, soldier is trying and failing, sure, but you're throwing for no goddamn reason. There's a difference. He can get better, we can set him up to succeed. You're just a dick. One round. They won one round, you're just mad that the pharah countered the fuck out of your junkrat so you start shitting on the soldier and stop playing??

Why

I don't understand.

[EDIT] I've never really paid much mind to posts like this before, but now I realize how cathartic it is and how nice it is to have others share their experiences and perceptions. It's nice to not be alone in your suffering lol. So, thanks for your words, especially from those sharing their experience of GETTING angry and how you reflect on that. Takes courage to admit those things. Anonymous internet courage, but still a lot of courage.

Blizzard's up to something... 1.45GB on the PTR.

Posted: 03 May 2017 02:48 PM PDT

The PTR just started an update that's 1.45GB big. Maybe this is the "leaks" that have been spreading?

EDIT: Version number is now 1.11.0.0.36376

Overwatch PTR Now Available - MAY 3, 2017

Unlisted changes PTR UPDATE

Posted: 03 May 2017 03:45 PM PDT

I will try to list all unlisted changes of the patch note and keep it updated.

1) Mercy rez are in the kill feed now (http://imgur.com/a/H2j16). the Mercy resurrections show up for the enemy team as well (in red).

2) Roadhog hook put correctly the target regarding her position and not always on the ground

3) Hero preview in hero gallery have a blurry background now

4) Kill feed now shows assists on kills

5) New quotes.

Apparently Genji scream "YESSS" after a kill. On McCree I've heard a quote from Clint Eastwood "Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one.", didn't heard it at all until now so it's new I guess. Officer D.Va has (at least) three new lines upon getting an elimination: - That was your last warning - You're going to get a parking ticket - You have the right to remain... oh

6) They fixed Torb's golden gun! His Chief Engineer Lindholm used the ironclad golden gun.

7) Chat ingame scroll auto and smoother

8) Genji's skin "Carbon Fiber" -> Golden Sword is now properly colored

9) Ana's settings -> Added a "Recoil recovery AIM compensation" -> ON / OFF

10) McCree's settings -> Added a "Recoil recovery AIM compensation" -> ON / OFF. If you don't understand this setting, I did a video.

ON : When dragging your mouse down a little bit after a shot, your pointer will stay at the same point where it starts. OFF : When dragging your mouse down a little bit after a shot, your pointer will drag down like you did with your mouse.

11) Widowmaker's settings -> Added a "Recoil recovery AIM compensation" -> ON / OFF

12) Apparently changes on Orisa are more than 15% damage reduction. More like 16.7% damage reduction. Only quoting people "She was at 12 damage per bullet now it's 10. So it's (10x100)/12 = 83.3 so 16.7% damage reduction"

13) Support assists seem to give up to 70 flame (on fire) now from the usual 50.

14) Hanzo's Dragon arrow no longer goes through walls. It now spawns the dragons on the first wall it hits. This doesn't include players it still goes through them. Crappy drawing but explicit

15) McCree's Deadeye is faster on PTR.

16) Junkrat's Ult is bugged for now when casted in front of a wall, box etc...

If you're coming to Heroes of the Storm for your skins, don't be a dick and throw games

Posted: 02 May 2017 11:30 PM PDT

Over on r/heroesofthestorm, I'm seeing a plethora of threads showing up complaining about Overwatch players deliberately feeding, botting or using any other negative tactics they can to throw games to end them as quickly as possible in order to get the new Overwatch skins, simply because the Nexus Challenge 2.0 quests do not require them to win. People like this.

This is completely unacceptable.

I and everyone else in the Heroes community who encounters this will be reporting these players in the hope they get their skins taken away from them once Blizzard catches up, whether they are on my team or the opposing team. However, it'd be nice if the Overwatch community would join us in rejecting this behaviour, which is completely outside the spirit of this event.

By all means come and try the game, but don't start screwing up the experience for people who are genuinely giving it a chance just because you're not interested yourself. I can't imagine the uproar from the Overwatch community if we came over and did the same thing.

EDIT: Added some minor clarification.

There has been another leak on 4chan about the three upcoming heroes - Doomfist, Bria and Ivon. In addition, confirmation of a May 24th event has been given.

Posted: 03 May 2017 02:45 AM PDT

A 4chan user going by the tripcode QAAustinAutist claims to be a worker at Blizzard and has given info about the heroes for the next 3 releases - Doomfist for Q2 ("days away, not months" for a PTR release according to the post) Bria for Q3 (who is just beginning testing) and Ivon for Q4 (who is still in the concept stage). There was also a bit more given about them and the "confirmation" of a May 24th event. Allegedly there is talk of a Singleplayer game mode but I wouldn't keep my hopes up for this any time soon, if at all.

Please remember that none of this is confirmed and could be fake, but I saw this and reckoned the community might find it interesting. (Sorry for the mobile links)

EDIT: Please remember that none of this is confirmed and could be fake.

Example this with this fix

What do you guys think?

edit: I'd also like to add this gif that was mentioned in the comments as part of a fix (This isn't actually in the game)

edit 2: lots of discussion for having the option to disable it altogether
