League of Legends - Patch 7.9 Bug Megathread

Patch 7.9 Bug Megathread

Posted: 03 May 2017 01:21 AM PDT

Greetings Summoners!

With every new patch Riot introduces to balance out champions and items there are some unforeseen issues that creep up and cause disruption during gameplay. We have noticed that these issues which eventually get fixed clutter up the subreddit immediately following the patch.

We want to avoid this by having a single Megathread which will be posted after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

Note only bugs caused by the 7.9 Patch should be reported below.

Pre-requisites to be noted before reporting a bug

  1. A bug must be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.

  2. Steps to recreate the bugs can be submitted if possible. This helps rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

  3. The bug must have been caused by the latest patch.

Format when reporting a Bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Server: The server you encountered the bug (NA, EUW, EUNE, TR, RU, BR, LAS, LAN etc)

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug etc

Description: Describe what was the bug that occoured.

Video / Screenshot: Insert screenshot (F12 in game) or Video of the bug occouring.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above.

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

Example Bug:

Server: EUW

Type of Bug: In Game Bug etc

Description: Zeds R(Death mark) Does not apply secondary damage

Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 2/10 (happened 2 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch a game after selecting Zed as your champion.

  2. Attempt to use death mark.

  3. Observe the result.

Expected result: The damage should apply after a short delay, amplified by damage dealth during the effect.

Observed result: The damage will not apply properly.

• System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

If you don't know how to format comments on reddit Click here

- **Server:** - **Type of Bug:** - **Description:** - **Video / Screenshot:** - **Steps to reproduce:** - **Expected result:** - **Observed result:** - **Reproduction rate:** - **System specs:**

Copy paste the above code and fill in your details.

From this megathread the list of bugs will not be summarised and put up in the main body of the thread, however note that many rioters are going through every single comment so don't worry if you post the 1500th or 3000th comment, every reply will be read over the next few days.

With the new stats rolling out, I'd love to be able to see how many times my keystone activated

Posted: 03 May 2017 03:24 AM PDT

It would be so beneficial to see, for example, whether you're consistently proccing Thunderlord's or Stormraider's more in your games. It would also be good toplane, if you see that you hardly procced grasp in a certain match out, you might take colossus the next time you're in that matchup etc.

Would to hear your thoughts (and flame)!

Post 7.9 Patch has made LoL unplayable for Mac players (evidence provided in text)

Posted: 03 May 2017 10:08 AM PDT

Hi everyone,
After updating to patch 7.9 I have found that the in game screen only shows 1/4 of the screen.
Example: http://pasteboard.co/1Tbm5Od6w.png
I have done some digging and found that I am not the only one affected by this bug:
https://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/bug-reports-eu/sB00muGI-again-bug-on-mac
https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/68z30q/patch_79_bug_megathread/dh2t76u/

This bug has been submitted to the official LoL boards and to the Reddit megathread but there does not seem to be a response from Riot about this issue at all and so far I have been unable to find a way to fix the bug.
It happens 100% of the time and I have tried all match types including the practice tool.
My main issue here is not just the bug but the fact that there seems to be no response from Riot relating to a completely game breaking bug that makes the game unplayable for a number of players.
I am hoping this post will get some visibility to bring it to Riots attention and prompt a quick response to the issue.

EDIT: Rioter u/koalifier has responded to the thread (thank you very much). A fix is being worked on by Riot. Thanks to everyone for your support in visibility for this issue.

Tiamat doesn't count as something that procs Thunderlords

Posted: 03 May 2017 03:26 AM PDT

Tried it out in practice tool, it doesn't count as something that procs it. Proof.

EDIT 1: Is it because it isn't considered a "spell" or "AA"?

EDIT 2: Links.

EDIT 3: TDL Findings:

[Active] Tiamat: No

[Passive] Revolver: Yes, it's a separate instance from the AA

[Active] Gunblade: Yes

[Active] Protobelt: Yes

[Active] GLP: Yes

[Active] Cutlass: Yes

[Active] BotRK: Yes

[Passive] Ludens: Yes

[Passive] Liandry: No, it's a DoT like Teemo's E passive

[Passive] Sheen (and other related items): No, it's an empowered auto

[Active] Redemption: No, fixed in 7.9 to not be treated as a spell

EDIT 4: Clarified if active or passive

Pulsefire Ezreal (2017 Update) Skin Spotlight - Pre-Release

Posted: 02 May 2017 05:20 PM PDT

Death Recap hasn't been reworked at all. It's the same as it was back in season 1.

Posted: 03 May 2017 05:52 AM PDT

Just about everything about this game has changed in a significant way, from champions, to Summoner's Rift, and lore. We get visual updates to champions, skins, and the Rift. Just about everything has been touched since season 1, except for death recap. All it ever got really were bugfixes and some text changes.

Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
Season 5
Season 6
Season 7

Honestly it does the job most of the time. But it doesn't show everything.

We only see 3 sources that did damage
Many times there are more than 3 sources of damage we take in a fight. I could take damage from 4 different champions, but if I get last hit by a few minions or monster camp a little bit after getting away it takes up another slot in the death recap. Now I see that 30 damage was the killer, and 2 other champions. Not 3 or 4, just 2 and some insignificant amount from minions.

The time it pulls data from doesn't always show how you went from 100-0
Going 100-0 can take from .5 seconds, to upwards of 20 seconds (if you're a big tank). It won't always show you what happened in 20 seconds though. Just the past 10~ seconds. If you get chunked and then die like 10 seconds later, its only going to show you what killed you after you got chunked. It feels really inconsistent to see what killed you over 10 seconds and then next death see what killed you over 5, when the situations could have been completely different.

It's ugly
It has the same border since season 1. Seriously? Would like to see tips at the bottom toggle-able, like the help tips you get when you're new to the game (I think there's toggle-able help tips?).

I'm not saying death recap is completely useless or anything, but its kinda disappointing to see that it hasn't gotten any serious rework when the rest of the game has over the years. It does give a general picture of what did kill you, but in some cases it is kinda confusing to look at and see how you lost half of your life and not all of it.

Adding some voiceover to Pulsefire Ward such as "Do you require a map?" would make it feel equally Legendary/Ultimate

Posted: 03 May 2017 08:12 AM PDT

Welp, since my original thread was removed because of it's short length, try number 2.

Pulsefire being the first Ultimate skin, and due to the theme just lending itself to the idea well, I think it would be sweet if this Wheatley-lookalike ward would have some added personality.

It could borrow lines from Pulsefire Ezreal's AI, which would also line up with the purpose of the ward itself, granting vision on said map. It could even banter with the champion who placed it, with special interactions for the Pulsefire skins.

Since skins are always evolving, this could be a nice touch.

Ideas/thoughts from the closed thread:

[–]Aerhyce: Make it a condescending af GlaDOS voice, and it will be perfect.

[–]Kestrel21: They can basically use the chick's voice from PSF Ez's, when she asks him if he needs a map and cut out the part where she says his name.

[–]TheOvrDaHedd: This would remind people to watch map even when they ward, because sometimes people cry for getting camped even though they have a trinket in their bush and it happends way too often

Update on 1440p/4k UI scaling?

Posted: 03 May 2017 07:49 AM PDT

I know there are many previous topics, but more people these days are using 1440p and 4k displays. While HP bars and minimap icons are very hard to see on 1440p, they became incredibly tiny on a 4k screen. Can any riot employee give an update on the status of any QoL improvements for higher res screens?

Have you heard of tragedy of Huni's Lucian top? Faker: Is it possible to learn this power?

Posted: 03 May 2017 06:03 AM PDT

Faker has been spamming Lucian mid on his account. Could we see a Lucian mid pick at MSI? Now that Huni is on SKT, Faker may have been influenced by his opinion toward solo lane Lucian. Earlier, Peanut also talked about surprise picks for MSI. Hopefully we see Faker's Lucian mid blasting teams at MSI. SKT begins MSI against G2 Esports on Wednesday, May 10th.
