An explanation on the Manatee team situation

Posted: 06 May 2017 03:33 PM PDT

Hi there

I'm Christiaan, owner of Manatee and Team Manatee and this is our response on https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/69h1ts/manatee_not_paying_their_players_salary/. I've waited until this moment because I needed some time off to think about the situation and think how it could go this wrong, where now I want to make sure that everybody who has read the rumours will be able to know our story as well.

Team Manatee had a short period where it started at the end of march. We, Quix, Robiin, Dumas, BENDJI and Dipparn and me agreed on working together, we signed temporary contracts (period of two months), went through official things and began our journey.

At the end of March Quix (Max) started to ask me for additional money, see printscreen: http://imgur.com/a/HkOTA , as he had to pay his rent and couldn't afford it. We shouldn't have paid him and it was not fair upon the other players but still we paid him just because we wanted this to work. Payment of Quix: http://imgur.com/a/C5gpI

We also immediately scheduled Copenhagen Games as the players really wanted to go there; PC RENTALS, Transport, Hotels, Cph tickets, etc. it was all fixed for the players and they didn't have to worry about anything. See printscreens for payment evidence:: Payment Guest Tickets staff Copenhagen Games: http://imgur.com/a/eQF6L

Payment LAN tickets players Copenhagen Games: http://imgur.com/a/HZv6k

Payment Travel cost Max Lindkvist (Quix) and Robin Sjogren (Robiin) (3x Malmo - CPH & back): http://imgur.com/a/R6BiP

Payment flight tickets: http://imgur.com/a/P9xA8

Payment rental PC's Copenhagen Games: http://imgur.com/a/T4dSA

Because the players also wanted Nebroy (Amar) as a coach and he decided last minute that he wanted to join us for cph as well, we didn't even hesitate to rebook our hotels and give him a ticket.

The fact that we made all these extra costs on such short notice, which the players and coach can confirm, hopefully indicate that we never had or have had bad intentions.

They went to a bootcamp before Copenhagen Games where Robiin and another player had a fight. They finished Copenhagen Games and after that Robiin left the team. I didn't hear from him anymore until a few days ago when he asked for his money, where he had only fulfilled a quarter of his contract (two weeks of two months). We've been told to not pay him out as he did keep prizemoney for himself.

We paid Quix (Max) on the 25th of april as he needed to pay his rent, others would get their payment the 4th of May as we had issues regarding incoming payments. Payment evidence Quix (Max): http://imgur.com/a/Yuipg

The 4th of may we paid Amar, Payment evidence: http://imgur.com/a/cgjFn . From there on I tried to pay Dipparn, but my PayPal went 'We can't send your payment right now, if you keep running into this issue, please contact us'. I've told Amar about this and sadly the players weren't thinking in solutions.

The situation went so fast and we didn't have a response ready so I panicked and closed all the social accounts as everyone went full rage mode. This was definitely a mistake which I am very sorry for, but I can't turn it back now. I know I shouldn't have closed them, but as I said I panicked.

Dipparn, Dumas & BENDJI already had been contacted regarding their bank information and got paid. These three guys really deserve a decent team as they have the potential and the right mindset. Robiin got, however I still have my doubts, the full salary.

Other than that we want to clarify other rumours regarding persons as @adumon and @lnnt who claim not to be paid for their services at this team.

Adumon joined us for Copenhagen Games to make a video. As confirmed we paid his flight and hotel in exchange for a 'behind the scene' video. We didn't even care that he was also recording 17 other teams and was not just there for us.

Lnnt applied and wanted to do some design work. He asked for €120 and would do anything. We had three tasks done, paid him at the end the €120,- but told him that we couldn't continue as we weren't happy with the results. Payment evidence Lnnt: http://imgur.com/a/V3yYt

The socials of Manatee will stay down for at least the rest of the month May. Our team worked hard 7 days a week, 16 hours a day to get to this point, the only thing we really wanted is to have a positive influence into esports and help the scene grow but now it's time to recover.

For all current orders of the manatee clothing brand nothing will change, we will produce them with the same quality and ship them in time as promised. For all urgent orders from current customers, feel free to contact us.

Thanks for reading

AFK lobbies with "nearby can join" should be closed after 5 mins with no activity.

Posted: 06 May 2017 07:20 AM PDT

It is nearly impossible to find a nearby lobby that isn't afk. Although it is a great feature implemented by Valve, it could be further improved if lobbies where closed down if there is no action from the lobby leader during 5 minutes. Countless times I just trying to play with some people that speak english but have to waste 20 minutes just to find a lobby where they are not afk :( valve pls fix/improve

I really love CSGO, but everytime I launch a MM game, I take a huge gamble if the next 50 mins are going to be fun, or a nightmare.

Posted: 05 May 2017 07:10 PM PDT

Does anyone else feel the same? Between the leavers, the ones who don't communicate, the trolls, I feel the game isn't even started and there's a huge risk the next 50 minutes are going to be horrible.
