Suggestion: When killing the Core, show the Banners of the winning Team around it.

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 04:51 AM PDT

So banners are nice but I found myself not looking at them often since you move away from camps, forts etc. pretty quick.

I think it would be a nice addition that if you win a match, that all banners of the winning team get displayed around the core.

*edit: wow this kinda blew up!

Thanks guys for the kind words! Just had this small idea on the fly.

Ofc there would be plenty of ways to place the banners near/around the core when it goes down. Placing them near the player too see which banner belongs to who could get tricky since not all team members might be standing next to the core as it goes down. Solution would be to display playername underneath it.. maybe.

As some suggested, adding banners to the MVP-screen would also be a good idea, thought of that too just few minutes later after i posted this.

In general i think the MVP screen should get some love, let the MVP dance or taunt or say something cool. espacially now that we have all this voicelines and stuff.

I hope blizz will work on something, because the purpose of banners (and the mvp screen) is quite underwhelming at the moment. they put so much work into them and we have plenty of them, but they are not really highlighted during a regular match.

HGC Patch is too far behind

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 09:36 AM PDT

Today, HGC is still playing on the latest Probius patch. The patch was released on March, 28.

Instead on catching up by playing on the highly anticipated Heroes 2.0 patch Blizzard somehow decided it would be better to play on an one month old balancing patch.

  • Heroes 2.0 was (almost?) one month on the PTR.
  • Dignitas and Fnatic already played show matches on that patch.
  • This is an online tournament. There is no jet lag. Everybody can start to train on the patch the same time.

But let's assume a one month PTR period is to little time to adapt to Heroes 2.0. Next week they are still not playing on the Heroes 2.0 patch but on the Cassia patch.

It was discussed during the latest TownHallHeroes. People not only watch HGC to see nice plays but also to improve their own Heroe league play.

I personally feel disconnected and slowly lose my interest because of this ridiculous patch policy.

As a burnt-out League player who just came over for 2.0, you guys are great.

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 03:29 PM PDT

I came over to check out 2.0 since I haven't played since launch just to get the free stuff and the Genji skin.

This game has a lot going for it and is a really nice change of pace, plus the community feels a bit warmer and definitely less e-sports focused.

P.S. Murky is precious, amazing, and I didn't know I needed infinite, tiny Murloc vengeance in my life.

Suggestion: Add Kevin "Cloaken" Johnson, voice of the spotlight trailers, as an announcer pack

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 06:26 PM PDT

At this point his voice is synonymous with HOTS for me. Its a natural fit.

Illidan doesnt have "You are not prepared!" as a voice line.

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 09:04 AM PDT

As a fan of Illidan, i would love to yell this at my enemies at the start of the match.

Blizzard, please give us the Raven Lord announcer

Talent? Hah. That seems generous.

Might I suggest dodging?

Heroes of the Storm Hotfix Notes - April 28, 2017

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 10:03 AM PDT

HotS is now a #5 game in Korea and a #2 MOBA in 3.5 EU countries, Quebec and Utah

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 09:54 AM PDT

HotS has jumped from the 20th position to the 12th and now to the 5th position in Korean PC Bangs. 3.64% Koreans play HotS now (link; an archive)!

Now, that's a dodgy source, but it gets winds of change right, at least. As per Google Trends, HotS vs Smite looks like this. The 2.0 spike is massive.

If you want to see a clearer picture for the #2 spot, look at this. HotS is more popular than both Dota 2 and Smite in France, Poland and Hungary. It also prevails in Lower Germany and in the Ruhr.

And in Sweden (somewhat of a birthplace for DotA), the recent 2.0 explosion is comparable to the biggest Dota 2 events.

If we look at NA, Quebec plays HotS the most (maybe, because they're all so friendly?). And in the US, it's Utah (and the spike is absolutely massive).

I often hear talk that Smite is a #3 MOBA, and it disappoints me. Maybe, that's true for the Baltic & Balkan countries and for NA, but not for EU.

They made "Xul" show up when you search for "Zul" on hero select

Noticed this today. Must be for people who thought Zul is how you spell his name.

Blizzard, can we please get a 'Hero Gallery' or wardrobe

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 01:09 AM PDT

With all the new collection features of 2.0, adjusting loadouts for each individual hero is quite clunky at the moment, as you have to be in Quick Match or AI, then individually click Loadout for each hero (bearing in mind we have 65+ heroes).

It would great if there was a separate 'Hero Gallery' or wardrobe-like area where you can adjust the skins on your heroes and see how they fit with certain mounts, as well as setting the loadout for particular heroes all in one place. This will then be the default loadout when you pick that hero in any game mode. This would also work quite well with seeing skins you don't own yet with mounts you currently have or mounts you don't own yet with skins you currently have (etc, etc). Thus allowing you to click and buy from there.

TL,DR: Requesting a 'Hero Gallery' as adjusting the loadout individually for each hero is quite clunky at the moment.

EDIT: reached HOT, I didn't think everyone felt the same!

EDIT2: I also feel a default button, i.e. 'Set as Default' for an announcer, mount, banner or spray will be handy as well.

There's something very wrong with Gazlowe in 2.0

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 02:33 AM PDT

His turret placement became much more difficult and is nearly impossible while moving.

It just seems like their initial hitbox became much bigger and you can't place it around yourself.

I'm playing with smart cast enabled and it's truly hard to place turrets, even while standing still. Needless to say that I'm placing them in legitimate places that are not other units or impassable terrain.

Anyone else has encountered this behaviour?

Summary:

  1. You can't place objects (Gazlowe's turrets, Hanamura Turrets, Tychus Laser Drill and etc.) around heroe's "placebox".
  2. Hero's "placebox" changes drastically in size and shape depending on position and rotation.
  3. Movement changes the "placebox" constantly making it extremely difficult to place objects.
  4. This seems to happen mostly when using quickcast, but can be because there's no visual indicator to "unplaceable" terrain.
  5. Azmodan's laser is being canceled if you issue a move command before the damage is done.
  6. Hard to Alt+tab on a loading screen.

What is Blizz doing about the A**** who are just afk every quickmatch for their overwatch skin?

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 03:25 PM PDT

I mean dont get me wrong... I play Heroes at the moment also only for the skins in overwatch... but i dont stand afk with a nova next to a lane so i wont get afk flagged... i think people like this really dont deserve to get a skin for overwatch which is allready EASY too get

Anyone else hoping for a D.va announcer pack?

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 06:27 AM PDT

I missed my chance for a D.va announcer in StarCraft so hopefully they bring it to Heroes. Overwatch has 0 announcers right now so I think hers would be a good start.

One of the most informative HOTS YouTube channels is not getting nearly as much attention as it deserves (+ Compilation of all the other important ones as a reminder)

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 03:37 AM PDT

In the last couple of years I have learned a lot from: - khaldor - KendricSwissh - MFPallytime - Grubby - Chu8 - McIntyre - nubkeks - Tetcher - Kaeyoh - Tempo Storm Heroes - Dreadnaught - Josheb - Fan - Srey - JHow - Bakery - Trikslyr - Kyle Fergusson - Amove.tv - heroesforecast - etc.

but if there is a content creator that I find incredibly underappreciated, it has to be CavalierGuest.

The guy is most informative and knowledgable IMO.

The only problem I sometimes have with his content is the length of some vids, but even then I grab myself something drink and try to listen to the guy.

I highly recommend the community in general and the tryhards and recent newcomers in particular to give him the love and attention he deserves.

Thanks to him for the hard work, to Blizzard for this great game and to you guys for the fun in the Nexus. GL HF

PD: Blizz, please buff Abathur and give us deathwing and fenix :)

If you are an OW player came just for oni genji and officer dva please stop throwing matches

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 11:24 AM PDT

In the last days i have met tons of people at early levels, toxic and loud. Also many tend to go in afk, feed, troll and write silly things in the chat making people nervous. I play this game for fun, i also play overwatch but in both places i try to be respectful and you should do the same! Be rude and unfriendly with people just because you want those skins isn't an excuse.

Voice lines too quiet

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 07:02 AM PDT

HotS is suffering the same problem as Overwatch. Voice lines are too quiet! When you unpack a hard earned loot chest and use a cool new voice line, it should be heard! Maybe ability sounds, which affect actual gameplay, should go over VLs, but please increase their volume, you can barely hear them with music off and out of combat, with no other noises around. Thanks Edit: "tilt" to "it," darn typos

I wasn't expecting much from this game.

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 07:06 PM PDT

I started playing because of the Overwatch content you get with this nexus challenge. And I was expecting a slough of dull matches that I just barely power through for some skins.

But man, at I glad I was wrong. This game is amazing. I have no idea what I'm doing but the lack of items makes me feel so much better about my choices! The movement, while new (I've only played smite), became second nature after the 5-6 AI matches I've done. The abilities feel impactful and I feel like I'm actually contributing. This game is just amazing.

Good job blizzard.

Also, Tyrael is amazing.

You hooked me

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 09:44 AM PDT

Hey you fools, you got me. I'm a big overwatch fan and got hooked because or the lucio cross over. I'm devouring all of the extra blizzard content that I haven't gotten as I've only really played OW and hots. I just love how much knowledge there is to learn about this game. Overwatch is great but the leveling and traits and stuff are so interesting.

Thanks!

Can we get a randomized Announcer option?

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 08:23 PM PDT

I like the idea of it, I've only got Brightwing, Diablo and Malfurion so far, but it would be nice to have one chosen at random, or maybe have favorites that it randomizes between.
