Tom French is the new multiplayer director Posted: 29 Apr 2017 12:54 PM PDT You read that right. Tom French- lead designer of Halo 5's Forge mode- is now the new multiplayer design director. I recently checked up on his Twitter account to see if he's stated anything new about Forge, but while looking I saw that his bio contained "Design Director at 343 Industries." I was confused if this was referring to Forge director, so I asked him. He responded by letting me know he was now the multiplayer director. What does this mean? Tom French has done amazing things for Forge in Halo 5, and he's been really open about the process on Twitter. I'm sure he'd be great for this role too. The multiplayer director is responsible for designing the gameplay- sprint, ground pound, player speed, weapon pads, etc. I'd also just like to remind everyone to be polite to him. Already people are sending him messages on Twitter and telling him what to do. There's a difference between letting him know what you want and being forceful with your request. Considering Tom has always been very open on Twitter, I would hate to have the community scare him off by flooding his notifications with "Remove Sprint!" [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 29 Apr 2017 05:11 PM PDT I haven't played Halo 5 since about release, and I'm trying to figure out why they changed the breakout game type. Back when the game first came out, my friends and I play a bunch of this game mode, and it was awesome. Highly tactical, usually slower paced, and great if you like team communication. Now it just feels like a bum rush for the flag with no skill involved at all. Shotguns as starting weapons? Shields? I don't get it. Can someone explain why it was changed and, if you like it, why? Ancestor is an amazing BTB map Posted: 29 Apr 2017 06:45 PM PDT I see a lot of negativity about some BTB maps, and rightly so in some cases (cough antifreeze) but Ancestor is really fucking good. It feels like Assault on the Control Room, plays really well, and incorporates some of the new weapons very well, like the Sentinel Beam. [link] [comments] | ||
