TIL Power Armor suits drain Fusion Cores at different rates Posted: 02 Apr 2017 11:32 AM PDT While working on a mod of mine in the CK today, I learned that the devs designed power armor to degrade the "health" of fusion cores at a base rate and that each power armor model to innately consume fusion cores at different rates: I don't think this is mentioned in-game at all. It's kind of a cool little untold detail that, in my mind, reflects the likely progressive increases in power consumption efficiency with each model in the lore. [link] [comments] |

Settlements in the next Fallout Posted: 02 Apr 2017 12:08 PM PDT I think that the settlement system in fallout 4 was alright, it could be much better but I feel the game lost a ton of focus trying to be a open-world construction sandbox. It did not make sense to me chronologically, you are telling me it took the commonwealth 100+ years to effectively rebuild? That makes no sense! So if the next fallout will have settlements they should follow these guidelines

Where would you like the next Fallout to take place? Posted: 02 Apr 2017 02:28 PM PDT I was thinking about it, and though to myself where they could put it next. I was thinking New York City. I think we would all love this one. A true concrete jungle. Could you imagine the combat on the skyscraper bridge interlacing the towers? Or the comeback of the subways like in FO3, or all the crazy locations that exist in real life or those that never existed because of the alternative history (like how would the twin towers be done?). They already did Philadelphia in FO3 in a DLC. I wonder if it would be similar to that. I just want to snipe people from up above, and explore central park. Hah. How would they do Trump Tower? Posted: 02 Apr 2017 11:39 AM PDT I'd like to see a fallout where its world wide, like you have all the countries and continents and you can find place exclusive items, like say in France you could find a baguette or a higher frequency of wines. Also place exclusive enemies and NPCs. They trouble would be travelling to and from these areas but that could be made into a huge part of the mission in it's self. It would make a lot of sense because if there were a nuclear war it'd be likely that most places get hit because everyone and their mother has a nuclear bomb these days and once one country has let one of everyone else will retaliate which would cause a world wide nuclear war. I understand that this would take up a lot of space and could be very taxing on your system but there are many ways to lesson these things such as having parts of the world dormant until in use in a similar way to how it's done now and only downloading other places once they are needed and then compressing them until it's needed again. Personally I think it's doable and would add a lot of depth to the game and I'd especially love to see what they would do with government buildings such as the White House etc. What do you guys think? Then I thought:What if the protagonists in the fallout universe never existed? If needs be mods, ill repost it on /r/TheFalloutDiaries, ok :) WARNING , LOTS OF SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE READ AT RISK, WARNING Ok, so we shall start at square one:The first fallout.What could I change? First of all, maybe vault 13 and the master were diplomatic and talked things out.So now we have a peaceful army of super-mutant chilling out in the wasteland, not doing much.Bit off but oh well. On to Fallout 2.Here we have The Enclave, a bunch of rad free chickens on an oil rig.And we are shown the NCR, which is basically California rebuilt, but with less annoying people. What would I change.With the NCR, nothing much.But the Enclave?Ooooo boy!to change them WE ARE GOING TO FLIP THEIR BELIEFS UPSIDE DOWN,FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR STYLE.So, instead of being pure humans and pre war government, trying to take back the wasteland by any means necessary, we have a bunch of pre war government figures and soldiers promoting peace and working out peace deals with NCR. I know the brotherhood of steel come in some where, but I can't remember where.If you know, please let me know! :D Now to the newer fallouts,which i am a bit more accustomed to!:D Fallout 3.What would I change? Hmmmm.Seeing as we changed the enclave to happy people promoting peace, nothing there.The brotherhood in fallout 3 are already quite lax about the capital wasteland and its inhabitants, so nothing much there. Fallout new vegas.Ooooo boy this is gonna take long. First of all:NCR.Due to being allied with the enclave and possibly bos, the NCR is a formidable force by 2281 and is feared throughout the wasteland.Due to it(NCR) only being allied with west coast brotherhood,east coast won't know until after the battle of hoover dam.If we take the dlc's into account,(and DUST) the tunneler invasion will not happen/happen but be ended very quickly, and the sierra madre scavenged by all 3 forces together. Note: If the NCR and boomers teamed up, and Eureka! is canon,we have the usa's first post war airport.This will be very important later. Legion:After thinking the could pick a fight with the combined forces of NCR,Enclave and brotherhood and losing badly,the legion surrender to NCR control and are quickly absorbed in to the Power factions. Mr House:I dont know about House.I think that the NCR annexing the strip and freeside(by force if necessary)and the brotherhood upgrading/repairing the securitrons with the help of the enclave,house could be a bit useful. Yes Man:With what i said above, he is a bit useless and with the strip being annexed, he will probably be turned to scrap. Now to fallout 4!:/ I see it as: the brotherhood and institute combine forces and institute mass produces pre war tech, at the cost of not making synths.They both wipe out the railroad.Minutemen are found and absorbed by the brotherhood/institute mix. Now with all this combined, the factions now have: * Both Enclave bases
