Vault 111 and Vault 112 are totally sister vaults

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 12:37 PM PDT

As we know some vaults in the games have "Sister Vaults", in which they have a counterpart that is very similar to them such as

Vaults 68 and 69

now you might of read that title and though "But Vault 111 is a cryogenics vault, and 112 is a simulation vault how can they be sister vaults?", well the awnser to that is, they both freeze you in time, 111 is litteral, and 112 is figurative

[Mod][Fo4] Fallout 3 Combat Armor by Castell

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 10:24 AM PDT

A lot of you guys complained about the bulky redesign of the combat armor by Bethesda. Castell, one of the people working on the Wasteland Overhaul mod for Fallout 4 has a solution for it, well, maybe even two, not only will y'all get Fallout 3's combat armor but also the classic one from Fallout 1 and 2.

Hopefully soon on the nexus :>

Some more info about the Wasteland Overhaul project:

Wasteland Overhaul aims to reintroduce a great deal of classic weapons, foods, drinks, enemies and much, much more which the team felt was missing from Fallout 4. Many of the items are small, yet significant to keeping the overall charm and feel of the Fallout game series.

Most of the content will be faithful recreations of classic items made from scratch, but also some things which are brand new to the series, based on the lore and setting of the game.

Also if you guys are interested, yes, we're looking for new people to join the project. More info on our discord :>

IRL Nipton is for sale. Could someone crowdfund it?

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 11:54 AM PDT

It would be pretty awesome if we (as a community) bought it, built some stuff and set up a council to govern it, that would be so cool.

I'm a sicko. I actually reached the mod limit (PC). 254

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 04:13 AM PDT

I was loading up some mods (Via the bethesda mod menu) after several months away from fallout 4 on PC and the game immediately crashed as it tried to reload them, and then wouldn't start up either, crashing immediately at the bethesda logo. I thought this is it, I finally broke it. I finally am going to lose the 2,000 hours I've put into this thing. I loaded up F04Edit to see what it said, and it gave me my answer. It told me something like, the selected mods (260) exceeds the limit (254). I didn't even know the PC had a limit! I also play on PS4 and I know the 100 mod limit there, and it makes sense because of memory limitations etc. But I was kind of surprised this happened on PC. I'm assuming I can raise this limit as well with some simple ini edits or something?

What's the worst plot hole in any Fallout game?

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 03:47 AM PDT

For me the biggest and worst plot hole would have to be the fact that Vault 13 has a different layout in Fallout 2 compared to Fallout 1.

I mean really is anyone going to change that? Seeing this change made me turn the game off and never play it again. Clearly a massive plot hole ruins the story.

[FO4] Power Armor Design too Clunky

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 03:46 PM PDT

Is there a lore reason for this?

I understand that Bethesda deliberately redesigned the power armor to fit the aesthetic of "indestructible human tank", but IMO it just looks plain bad. It's too chunky and spherical to really be feasible in a supposed "real life" close quarters operation. Plus the running animation makes the wearer look like a lumbering goof, and don't get me started on how Paladin Danse's head looks like a tiny little peanut sitting between the ginormous shoulder guards.

Loved the game, and the power armor really doesn't detract from the experience beyond a mild annoyance; but simply put I much preferred the slimmer, more tactical aesthetic used in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Into Vanilla Fallout 3 for 10 hours. Loving it. Which mods are a must have?

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 03:03 PM PDT

Dad talked to Doctor Li face to face at Rivet City lab. Instead of following him again on main quest, I went to Megaton and received a flat of my own. That's how far I'm into the game yet.

Loving the game as it is, I have no complaints for vanilla version as of now. Wondering if there are some essential mods that would make my experience in this game more enjoyable.

I'm wondering which mods can be considered as must-haves if I want to enjoy this game more?

P.S. I'm running the game on W10 and I have Games For Windows installed. I'm not having any annoying crashes that people usually talk about, just this: I won't be able to return to the game if I switch to another task and leave it to idle on my taskbar. Also I receive "this application might not work correctly - Fallout 3 is not compatible with this Windows version" on the new W10 rightside notification bar. Is there a way to solve both? I don't want to lose my savefiles.

Handmade Rifle Sound Glitch

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 03:03 PM PDT

So I've been having this problem for awhile, but the majority of the time that i fire a handmade rifle on full automatic there's a glitch where the sound of it is dampened and plays continually even after I cease fire, including after fast travel and entering/exiting buildings.

I play on PS4 with mods, so I thought it might be a mod issue, but then I removed them and played the base game(with DLC of course) and the problem persisted. I swapped out automatic receivers and the problem persisted, swapped barrels, magazines, and still. Very rarely will the sound work as it's supposed to and end once I stop firing.

Does anyone else have this issue? If so I'd appreciate any help with fixing it. Thanks!

Is it possible to complete Veronica's questline after destroying the BoS? [FO:NV Spoilers]

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 02:33 PM PDT

After I destroyed the BoS base, my reputation with them is "soft-hearted devil" meaning I could still gain Veronica as a companion. I triggered a quest chain but she said she wanted to go back to the BoS bunker, but when we went there, she didn't say anything or interact to the situation any differently. Is there a way to continue the quest even though everyone in the BoS is dead?

Fallout with One Hand

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 09:31 PM PDT

Hey, everyone. I just recently had a stroke and cannot currently use my right hand. I'm a big Fallout fan and have played a lot of New Vegas and 4. I feel like those games will be impossible to play until I get further into my rehab, but in the meantime would still like to play Fallout. I was wondering if the older games were possible to play one-handed since they were not first person shooters. Any help would be appreciated.

A thought for your penny

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 12:57 PM PDT

A complaint. imagine a whiny voice now I really don't like how everything in the fallout series is spoon fed to you, the character. All the grandest and greatest opportunities just have a way of magically flying into your lap. Oh, wanna be GENERAL of the minutemen (caveat, you have to do everything [I hate that, too, but that's another conversation entirely])? Or, try this, find the BOS; Hey kid, wanna fast track to being Paladin in the Brotherhood of Steel- CAN DO! And then you'll wander over to some middle-of-nowhere place in the game and BAM you are Ãœbermensch incarnate.

I'm just saying, I was hoping for a little more character dynamics. Choices have consequences- that whole spiel. I guess I'm just tired of video game characters being so god damned OP.

Going to be buying Fallout 3 and New Vegas, what should I expect?

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 08:17 PM PDT

Hi. I fell in love with this series after picking up Fallout 4 and I've decided to pick up the previous games in the series at the recommendation of several friends who are long-time Fallout fans. I was wondering if any of the series veterans on this sub could help me sort of get a feel for what to expect when compared to Fallout 4 (mainly mechanically, I don't want story spoilers please. :) ) I hear lots of people say Fallout 3 and NV were a LOT more in-depth than Fallout 4 was, and I've sort of been afraid to look up specifics of this claim because I really don't want the story spoiled. If any of you could help I'd appreciate it. Thanks :)
