$100 Bounty: Video Proof of the Ness Super YoYo Glitch

Hey everyone, I was discussing over on /r/SSBM on whether or not the SYYG is something still worth looking into. To new players, the rumored glitch is a YoYo Glitch that "permanently" leaves the jacket on Ness. With nothing but a smashboards post about it, there is no actual video evidence of this glitch ever existing.

Rumor has it that some people have seen it in action, but nobody has been able to recreate it.

That being said, I am willing to offer $100 to the first person who is able to find and recreate the SuperYoYo glitch on video. If the initial proof is found in 20XX or 20XXTE, then it must also be able to work in regular Melee (of any version) in order to be deemed a real Melee glitch.

Once validated by the community I will gladly contact the person who wins, and post proof of the payment. If nothing can be found by 2018, then I believe it is best to conclude that there is no Super YoYo Glitch that can be reasonably found and the bounty will be called off.

While highly unlikely that anything will be found, I still believe something like this can motivate players to look into it, and maybe even solve one of Melee's strangest phenomenons. Thank you for your time.

Let's help Smash grow together!

A wonderful day to you, Smash players, TOs, fans, and community, it's me again, Tim, but I go by Minitimmy3. I got the okay from the Mods, so I'd like to talk to you all for a bit, if you'll hear me out. You may not know me, not that you should, but I'm that guy/idiot that donated $12,000 to Summit. It all started kind of harmless, with a little push from HFam, I put some donations towards Summit. However, as time progressed, and as word was spread, people started to get more into Summit. This sparked something in me, an urge that I've had for the 9 years I've been following Smash. That urge, is to help the community grow. This is a wonderful community, one unrivaled by any, because we have to work together to make things happen, and that's amazing. We, together, have produced the largest pot winning in the history of Smash, that's insane! You all have yourselves to thank for that, whether you donated, told a friend, or anything, you all made that possible. Now, getting back to helping the community grow, I've been on a bit of a quest, to support the top players of Smash, by stopping by their streams, donating, subbing, and so on. As great as this experience is, I want to do so much more. I want to create new opportunities for new players, as well as old ones. I want to see the pots bigger, events crazier, and more packed. I want players and streamers of the game to feel that it's fine if they want to make a living off this thing that they love, because they know that they'll be alright if they do. As I donated more and more to Summit, more and more people became influenced, and joined in. This can be our spark as a community, this can be our chance, to build off what many people like Nova, GimR, everyone, has given us. I'll sure as heck help, but I can't do this alone, no one can, so I need your help, current and future players need your help. Go and support your favorite Smasher, whether by donation, our telling a friend, don't be afraid! If everyone pitched in, we can start something amazing in this community. Of course, there are some that can't or don't have the opportunity to do so, and that's where people like me come in, those that are fortunate enough to support the game. I'll support on behalf of those that can't donate or things like that to the community, but there's still so much that you CAN do. Guys, I just want to give back to the community, the game, the players, that have given so much to my life, and I'm sure there are tons of you that feel the same! I want this game, players, community, to rise up, and go down as a legend, that's all. Should Cloud be banned in doubles?

Cloud seems to have killed/is killing character diversity in Smash 4 doubles. It seems more and more that doubles revolve around Cloud, but I'd like to hear other's thoughts on this. Should he be removed for the sake of team diversity?

Move Tier List #1: Jab (Results)

Greetings, fellow Smash redditors! The results are now in!

Jab Tier List Complete

To explain the process of how I completed the list, here's what I did. One of the creators of the Smashboards move tier list (u/ARGHETH) helped create a template for me to edit and do the math. BTW, if you're here, thank you so much for the template!

In order to do the math, I took the amount of votes to a specific letter and multiplied it by the corresponding number.

S: 6

A: 5

B: 4

C: 3

D: 2

E: 1

F: 0

After that, I added those numbers to get a sum, and then I divided that sum by the number of total responses (130) to get a mean. To get a more approximate total, I rounded every single mean to the nearest whole number, and the character will appear in the tier that corresponds to what the mean rounds to.

Here's a link to the spreadsheet.

Now for some notes:

  • Characters are explicitly ordered within their tiers because of this whole system regarding the respective means.

  • Several character pairs are exactly tied. There are three to be exact: Mewtwo/Corrin, Charizard/Lucas, and Cloud/Bayonetta.

  • No E or F tiers! :)

Now for some of my thoughts:

  • Strange to see Mario and Ness so far apart considering their jabs are functionally very similar.

  • Samus is strikingly low.
