Edit: The bonus was towards the developer rather than the lead design. Cheers to u/Aredon86

Nothing is more annoying than the delay between pressing "unlock door" on a terminal, and it actually opening

An interesting way to potentially fix Fallout 4, as well as an overview of what makes it good and bad.

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 11:32 AM PST

Skip to 2:17:20 for the fix, but the whole video is really worth watching/listening to.

What would you do in the Fallout Universe?

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 07:20 AM PST

If you lived in fallout america at roughly the time of the games, where would you live and what would you do? I would probably own an inn/trading post between Megaton and Arefu, with a small garden and brahmin pen in the back. The traders could stop here and rest/refuel before continuing thier travels.

West Coast v. East Coast

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 03:15 AM PST

It seems to me that civilization did a much better job of rebuilding after the Great War on the West Coast than it did on the East Coast. At the very least the NCR seems to have its shit together far better than the Enclave. And Boston is apparently up for grabs. I'm not super familiar with the lore from the first two games. Anyone care to she added some light on this?

Fallout New Vegas's factions and their surprising similarity to the second Sino-Japanese war

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 02:05 PM PST

As I've been taking an interest in the second Sino-Japanese war (1937-1945) I can't help but notice how surprisingly alike the warring nations are to the factions in F:NV.

First of all, there's the NCR, which is quite similar to Nationalist China. Both are republics (or so they claim to be)that are riddled with corruption and rampant inflation. Both their armies depend on sheer numbers, with the majority consisting of poorly armed conscripts with varying degrees of training. Their grip on the territory they control is quite loose as well, with many inhabitants having a disdain towards the regime.

Caesar's legion here is Japan. An extraordinarily cruel, militarist regime led by an emperor, to which his soldiers have a fanatical devotion. the Legion/Japan mostly prefers melee weapons, and has a culture based around martial prowess, and death before flight. The legionaries/IJA keep their occupied areas calm through a mixture of cruelty and rewards to collaborators. Soldiers are inexperienced with taking initiative, because they value strict adherence to orders.

The BoS here is Communist China. A small group of guerillas living underground, and who have poor relations with the Legion/Japan and NCR/Nationalist China. Though they prefer to help the latter, they have fought them before the war with the Legion/Japan started.

This would make House a warlord, of which there were many in China. Nominally loyal to NCR/China, he has no problem with ignoring them in favour of their own goals.

It kind of makes sense, but if you start to look at the plot it becomes pretty nonsensical.

[Question] Has Anyone Tried Shooting Proctor Ingram out of her power armor?

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 01:58 PM PST

I was curious if anyone had tried to shoot out the power armor core and forcing Proctor Ingram out of her armor. Since she has no legs, I wasn't sure it there was any restrictions or if she'd crawl at you.

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 09:54 AM PST

FALLOUT 4 So i accidently sided with the railroad by saying "I'll work for you then" and i can't go back anymore. Any commands or tips how to still get the minutemen ending?

EDIT: I don't have any save games left on what has just happened. most of them are from 2 weeks earlier for some fucked up reason.

Considering buying Fallout 4, how does gunplay feel compared to New Vegas?

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 10:23 AM PST

I liked NV a lot but the gun handling felt slow and not smooth to an extent, what other games does 4 feel similar to in terms of the first person controls?

With TTW do I have to convert every single Fallout 3 mod I want to add or can certain ones be simply added with FOMM?

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 06:50 AM PST

Is there a specific reason that why PS4 mods are limited, other than Sony not allowing Bethesda?

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 02:17 PM PST

Are there technical limitations, and would it ever be possible to get all mods for PS4?

Settlement with the highest build limit?

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 02:30 PM PST

I thought it would be the drive-in, but it is lower than Sanctuary for me.

Anyone know what settlement would have the highest build limit so I can make a Gunner Grinder?

I really want to try Tale of Two Wastelands, but it seems like such a hassle for an alpha.

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 03:21 AM PST

I tried installing it it just said something went wrong with FOMM TTW was not installed, even though I followed the guide to the letter, but that isn't the only issue. Apparently it is recommended to do a clean save or start, and I would have to delete all my mods, and since its still in Alpha there will probably be a lot of problems with crashes bugs etc. I really want to play it though, considering Fallout 3 crashes constantly on my pc even though I tried all the fixes. Maybe I'll be more inclined to try in it when it gets out of alpha, but that will probably take a few more years. Is it really worth it even in alpha?

Fo4 mod question (PS4)

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 07:42 AM PST

Does anyone happen to know if there is a mod with all the building materials, but where they actually snap? I have a mod which I'm using and it has all the extra materials like institute walls doors etc but they won't snap to place. Just wondered if there's a mod similar that works. Thanks

What makes Fallout special to you?

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 06:58 PM PST

To me it's the same thing that made me fall in love with The Last of Us: the Nostalgia. Those Old World Blues, if I may. I'll be alone, listening to all those old songs, weather it be from GNR, Radio New Vegas, or Diamond City Radio, and go off exploring what's left of the world. The old ruined buildings, the skeletons that showed what was, the streets filled with rubble and old world items. It's all just amazing to me
