After over 300 hours, I can easily say that the ESO community is the most rude I have ever played with.

It never fails - just sitting there trying to organize my bank when...

BAM!!

Someone comes flying into the bank and just lets the door slam behind them. EVERY SINGLE TIME! They never stop to make sure it doesn't bang. They never apologize. They even do the same damn thing when they leave!

This community sickens me.

Spent 3 hours at the Frostedge Camp in Bleakrock, leveling & fighting tons of baddies with about 12 others. That was a blast!

[News] Vvardenfell Flora and Fauna

Something about this quest really touched me. Certain character's lines are so deep and well written, I couldn't help but feel for them and their loss. Just another reason why I love this game so much

[Poll] It's been a while since Crown Crates have been introduced, and everyone seemed to hate the idea. So: How many have you bought since then?

is this part of the gameplay I have two handed weapons with upwards of 1000 damage and it just feels like I'm hitting enemies with a rolled up newspaper over and over

PSA: Console players, pick up your writs, but don't do them!

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 08:02 AM PST

Console gets the homestead patch tomorrow (YAY!) so I thought I would give you a heads up.

Go pick up all your crafting writs today, just get the quests from the board.. now, STOP. Do not actually do your writs!

Tomorrow, complete these writs and hand them in. You will now have a chance of getting a master writ, PLUS then you will be able to pick up writs again right away!

Source: I did it for PC, and received master writs from both "yesterdays" writs, and "todays".

This works because the rewards container you receive is a new ID, that's why saving writ containers is useless. This way though, you're not actually getting the old ID container since you're not completing the writ.

[Console] How long to expect Homestead maintenance & download to be?

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 01:18 AM PST

I got off of work about an hour ago and got about 30 minutes of farming in before the server went down for Homestead on PS4. I'm just wondering how long of a nap I should take before starting the download, and how long to nap after that too haha.

Another vMA rant

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 02:02 PM PST

PCMR, NA, eso account name is the same as redit. Send me your hate mail.

Heads up. This just shy of a novel. I'm also on mobile for all the grammar nazis out there. I swear, a lot. I'm on a plane where the wifi doesn't work so I have some of the references wrong. Get triggered.

Some background:

When I started playing eso I rolled the greatest character ever. A Breton mag dk. Now thinking I was playing skyrim online I rolled around in heavy armor (that set that increases your physical and spell resistance by about 12k linearly with decrease in health), sword and board, and a flame destro. I never used whips, chains, force pulse, burning embers, talons, or any decent dk/dps abilities. My ultimate was always corrosive armor. Never dropped a standard.

I was the guy with 10k+ resistance over the hard cap pulling 3k dps single target by spamming pulsar. I out tanked the tank. No one in my dungeon groups died. I would just spam igneous shield and pulsar.

I thought I was the shit since I was damn near unkillable in Cyrodiil. I had no idea what I was doing. Also, this is my first mmo, and I painfully discovered the holy trinity. I made it all the way to v16 this way.

Then came the DB. At this point I had figured out I was not good at dps. So I swapped over to an alt I had rolled a while ago for crafting. My nord Templar healer. I had a thing for overly tanky builds.

This dude was a beast. I ran some trash sets and a cp140 purple seducer set I crafted in, that's right, heavy armor. My BoL tooltip was like 5-7k. Gerd derm beast mode.

At this point I spent a lot of time in Cyrodiil, since I'd already played every non-dlc quest on the dk. Outside of crag anyways, since I was solo or bust. Other people were dumb. They should L2P and get gud. I can't out heal stupid.

Now fast forward a bit, I've now rolled 7 characters to CP 160, all grinding out OO in wrothgar. I had raw mats out the ass. I've watched every Deltia and Alcast video. I've run out of shit I want to do, I haven't spent any time acquiring the sets needed for end game, figuring out dps, rotations, and balancing regen solo. But I've got a full arcane willpower, gold Julianos, 1pc Kena, and some gold Torouge Pact swords.

I've got an altmer mag sorc. I've got the basic bitch build. I'm a badass. I'm going to crush vMA and stroll around Flawless Conquerer melting face in Cyrodiil.

The good part:

Normal modes for noobs. I jumped right into vet mode. Mag sorc ftw.

I died about 100 times in the first arena. Brute forcing my way to stage 4. This mag sorc sucks. These builds a bullshit. F*** you Deltia.

I'm now obsessed. I HAVE to crush the arena. Time for another character. Nord tanklar was up to bat.

Never beat the first round. Couldn't out dps the heals from the endless adds. I tried every strategy. Focus the adds. Ignore the adds, dps the boss. F*** that rolling ball of death, it can't kill me. I'll just stand here and jab-jab-jab.

Tanklar was a bust. Time for the vamp altmer healer I rolled wearing 5 pc light armor master golded, 5 pc transmutation, 2 pc blood spawn, sword and board and resto. Hits just shy of hard caps when all buffs are up. 3k regen. I can block cast BoL forever.

Somehow I made it to the round with the giant spider green circle good tons of fire damage bad round. Couldn't beat it. This builds a bust. F*** vMA.

I rage quit. For about 4 months. Came back and ignored vMA. I avoided wrothgar all together. I stopped doing top tier writs just to avoid going there. The shame was strong.

I geared up again on the mag sorc. I spent all my time playing this guy. I maxed all my skill lines short of undaunted. I was now pulling 15k single target with infinite sustain. I'm a beast. Time to make vMA my bitch.

I got rekt on stage 5. I swapped the swords for a destro resto. I stacked 30k of wards. I was unkillable. I hit like a wet noodle.

Rage quit round 2. Right before OT dropped.

Fast forward 6 months, my liver is healing. I go to the gym regularly. I eat healthy again. My boss thinks I'm more productive. Life is great eso free.

There it is again, google likes to advertise shit I spent a lot of time looking at. A flawless Conquerer video. Triggered.

I take a week off work, I log back into my mag sorc. This is it. It's my time. Stormproof here I come.

Running the same 5pc julianos, with the queens elegance set now that it's overland and 1pc kena. Overload build. That 500 overload max nerf can't stop me. I run bare bones triple slotting bound aegis and the Mage light thing. Shooting star front bar overload back bar.

Mini boss spawns? Overload. Resources running low? Overload. Need a ward? Overload. Steak? Overload. Executes are for noobs. Just nuke em. Out of overload? Force pulse medium weave spam.

Maybe I should've figured it out at stage 5, where I first got stuck. From stage 5 to 9 I probably died at least once per round, more often about ten times on anything with a swarm of adds. But I figured why change anything. This is working out just fine. It's the lag. My bars didn't swap fast enough. I got stuck in overload. I got stuck charging a heavy attack that didn't cancel and a ward didn't pop. I just frantically ate all my purple food cause the stupid quick slot wasn't on pots. That god damn crit surge didn't count even though I smashed the god damn keyboard.

Nope. Instead I figure I'll just brute force my way through this. Shit. Bar swap. Hardened ward. Shit. Shit. F-U sub 40 fps.

Seriously though I managed to brute force my way up to stage 9. Which I maybe died twice on the early rounds. Then the finale. HUNDREDS OF DEATHS.

Half the time I would die before getting through the first stage. Rest of the time I get face melted by a crematorium guard after casually collection all the white ghosts.

I wish I recorded this. The video would explain it so much better. So much rage. So many deaths. My poor dog is confused as f*** when I play vma. He now sits there and whines while I frantically wail away the keyboard and mouse. I'm pretty sure I broke a keyboard there. The mouse is about to go. My sanity is gone. My liver is killing me.

But then there the title. Stormproof. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm raging after getting wrecked in vma I head to Cyrodiil and try to nuke as many people proudly wearing their Maelstom Arena Conquerer title as possible before some Flawless Conquerer spanks my ass and puts me in my place.

Now we're up to date. I gearing up again. Probably 5 pc bsw + 5 pc spinner. My single target self buffed dps is min 20k, average around 25, some bosses with different resistances I'll pull 30k+ easy.

I've soloed about half of the dungeons without mechanics requiring two or more. All normal. I've tried a few on vet and die more than I would like to. But I'm improving.

I'm traveling for work, and taking a much needed break. But when I get back. vMA will be mine.

tl;dr vma is a pain and I like complaining. If vMA wasn't as hard as it is I wouldn't have improved to where I am now. Thank you ZoS for the challenge. I will wreck it someday. Sorry/not sorry about the profanity. Thanks for reading. I've enjoyed some of the various vMA rants I've read here and figured I'd share.

[Discussion] ESO Housing: Would you be interested in a weekly showcase/discussion of a specific house?

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 08:50 AM PST

I was just thinking it might be interesting to have a sticky thread that covers a new house every week. Players could post videos/pictures of what they've done with that specific house, as well as discuss the pros/cons of choosing that one.

It would also be interesting to get an idea of which houses are the most popular and which have been ignored.

Edit: Mods seem to be interested, so it may come to pass.

Why do enemy health bars sometimes show a cracked texture over them?

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 12:15 AM PST

For example: This.

I was fighting this enemy and downed him once but the quest item glitched or something and I had to fight him two more times. The third time, some other player joined in and I noticed the health bar got this cracked texture over it. I've seen this happen before but not sure why it happens. Any ideas?

Can someone ELI5 the Guild politics?

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 10:26 PM PST

I'm still fairly new to ESO, so forgive my ignorance. A while ago another player took me to see Rawl'Ka and briefly attempted to explain what it was everyone was doing there. He said that there's a fair amount of politics going on with the different guilds there, and that some players hardly ever even leave Rawl'Ka much less do any questing. He said some of them are CPA's and accountants that just play because they like numbers and the economic aspect. He also said that some of the guilds even spy on other guilds? This is way over my head, but it's super intriguing. Can anyone give me an ELI5 on this?
