Europe in ruins after being brought under American rule [Earth 2014 Mod]

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 12:41 PM PST

I visit this subreddit everyday just to check if there is any patch released.

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 06:22 AM PST

And speed of this game's updating just disappoints me. I'm not a developer but as a big fan of Civ series I feel frustrated that this game simply stays on dead point during two months already. Now there is even more threads related to Civ V than VI. Because people already tried game with last patch and for many of them it didn't work: they wait for new fix.

I really like what Civ VI brought to series but this silence and inactivity from developers sometimes makes me even suppose Firaxis is in state of depression and doesn't want to support game anymore. This is fun game that needs some tweaks - you have all tools to make it even more cool! Just don't let us assume you stopped working.

First Immortal Victory

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 05:46 PM PST

Ok guys,

I know it's probably not a big deal to most but I just beat Civ 6 on Immortal difficulty and I'm feeling jacked. I usually play on prince or emperor and finally decided to step it up. I tried a couple of games and was eliminated within 50 turns. But this time I finally did it. It took 230 turns and I won a domination victory with Tomyris. Yes, I know that domination with her is one of the easier ways to win. Even so, I'm jacked and feeling like I can FINALLY tackle deity. Anyone have a similar story?

In Civ V, how are you supposed to deal with militaristic neighbours on immortal and deity difficulty?

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 01:34 PM PST

On King or Emperor, it's not too hard to get enough of a defense up in time or just bribe them to attack somebody else. A few times when I played immortal, however, I ended up next to invasive Civs (Zulu and Spain in these two examples) and got totally destroyed because they just had way too many units to fight that early on in the game (Zulus straight up killed my civilisation). How are you supposed to stop them? Prioritize getting luxury resources to bribe them with? Just neglect building construction to make units?

For clarity, I mean when you're right next to them, basically immediate neighbours. Obviously if somebody is between you, you might have a buffer.

Civ V Warmongering

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 05:15 PM PST

Hey guys I just figured out a way to minimize how hate you get for warmongering. What I liked to do was, if I wanted to crush a nation, was before invading them I would bribe them to go to war against all of his neighbours. Now I declare war on him and now we are on the side of righteousness as we, and my new allies, are removing this crazy man who declares war on all his neighbors. Just cleaning up those darn warmongers ;)

What's the worst non nuke/ non razing thing you've done to your enemy's population?

Best I can come up with is micromanaging the city to not use food sources to starve them to death.

Mod Idea: Cabinet Members

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 05:02 PM PST

Upon reaching modern era, each civ is granted a set of people to fill an 'administrative cabinet'. These people include civ-specific persons, general administrative persons, and any great person your civ has earned since the beginning of the game. This cabinet grants different bonuses based on the people you've chosen

Please ELI5 how tile distances work. I'm struggling to determine just how far the Colosseum will reach.

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 12:01 PM PST

It says that it will reach 6 tiles away. So if the next city's center is like 5 diagonal tiles then one vertical tile, how many tiles is that?

I wish someone drew a map with a wonder (or something) in the middle, and then had the hexes laid out and labeled with exactly how many tiles away those tiles were from the wonder.
(Or I wish the game had some UI function that would help you with this)

Big Problem With Peace Deals

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 09:53 AM PST

Just made peace with Germany after few hundred years of war and I want to weaken him a bit but end this thing so I can concentrate on Arabia who just declared surprise war on me.

So I make peace, and in the deal demand a few city-states he took as well as a Spanish city (Spain and I are allies) with the intention of liberating all three cities (I'm a bit over extended and don't have the amenities to support all these cities.)

Low and behold, you can't liberate cities won in peace deal? Why the hell not? I get that making AI play like a human is a very tall order, but this is just basic game play stuff that should be easy to fix in a simple patch.

TL;DR: We should be able to liberate cities won in a peace deal

Trade Routes (Civ 6)

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 08:09 AM PST

Hello everyone!

Still being fairly new to Civ 6 I was wondering what the best way to utilize trade routes is?

Internal or external trade routes? If internal, do I base them all in one city to get that city the most benefits, or should I spread them out amongst all my cities so they all get a little bonus?

Thank you!

Civ 5 - Melee vs Mounted/Armored units

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 07:17 PM PST

I've just started to play civ 5, and I was wondering which type of units are generally more powerful in most situations. Are normal melee units (infantry, rifleman, etc.) better in rough terrain and mounted/armored units better in flat terrain? Is the movement of mounted/armored units worth their inability to gain terrain bonuses?

Is there any mod that you are aware of that makes the AI less inclined to forward settle on your turf?
