Something I Think Would Go a Long Way in Fixing Deplomacy Posted: 25 Dec 2016 06:52 AM PST Public praise. We've had public denouncements since Civ 5, but its counterpart is missing: Public praise. Instead of being universally hated for taking ONE while going for a domination victory. Now I'm not saying warmonger penalties shouldn't exist, but if I take China's capital, in the year 10-fucking-90, instead of every world leader being a damn human rights activisht, shouldn't at least China's enemies Praise me? and shouldn't at least a couple of Civs be neutral and not really care? as a side note I discovered that there's no way to call your declared friend to arms. when someone declares war on me, isn't it just common sense that at can at least ask my declared friends to go to war and help defend me? also, what happened to gifting units to city states? I miss my proxy wars. [link] [comments]

100th Anniversary Achievement Seed Posted: 24 Dec 2016 03:23 PM PST Hey everyone! I was playing a game of civ earlier, when I spawned on an island with Yosemite and Crater Lake on it, in very close proximity. It helped me a lot to get the achievement, so I figured I'd share the seed with you guys. Game Seed: 1109071126 Map Seed: 1109071127 Game settings: Duel size map, on continents, with 4 players. Be sure to turn off the DLC's. Era doesn't affect anything but I'd recommend going later so you have free settlers to make cities next to the parks and be close to unlocking naturalists Here's a picture of the map: http://i.imgur.com/ZqsmYJk.jpg Yosemite is on the bottom of the screen, and Crater Lake is at the top in the desert. 100 hours in... I want the AI to be more challenging and less "cheap" Posted: 25 Dec 2016 09:26 AM PST Hey all. I have now beaten the game a handful of times (Emperor being my highest difficulty thus far), and feel like I now can formulate a qualified opinion on the game. Overall, I think Civ 6 is incredible; the district system is awesome, the multiple ways to win feel "tighter" than they did in 5 (RIP Diplomatic victory), and overall, pacing feels better. ...however, what doesn't feel better is the underlying "challenge" of the game at higher difficulties. I recently played my 2nd Emperor-level difficulty game, and admittedly, it was a tight race for awhile. However, given that the AI is effectively overpowered at the start of the game, rather than playing to be competitive, I spent 400 turns trying to simply catch up. In 400 turns, I abruptly lost the game, despite having 11 8+ pop cities, the largest military in the game, and an active war machine of an empire. I had conquered 7 more additional cities too. The start of having 2 settlers, 2 workers, AND stat bonuses? It didn't feel right. It just felt bad. Despite, often times, having 2-3 more cities than my opponents, I watched their cities grow faster, develop quicker, and churn out more missionaries/apostles than should even be possible. I watched the AI progress 2 full eras ahead of me; I was using Crossbowmen when they had planes. Despite continuously being behind, too, the AI continued to use spies to screw me over, when I was in an era where spies had JUST come online, they already had advanced spy networks within my land. Are there any mods that correct this? I want the AI to be more challenging, not cheaply rewarded for no reason. It feels outright terrible to be dominating, only to look up and realize that you're behind everyone else in the game, despite their total lack of expansion, development, and conquest, solely due to bonus stat ticks and a free second city to start the game. King is too easy, but Emperor is too cheap, so the only alternative is PvP games. Does anyone have some recommended mods? [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Dec 2016 11:39 AM PST Seriously, it just cuts to the text and to the point with no delay! It goes from 15-20 seconds to 2. You're welcome. [link] [comments]

Can someone summarize what has changed since release? Posted: 25 Dec 2016 06:47 AM PST I downloaded the game again, but I haven't played since before the first patch I think, so I'd like to ask for a summary of what has changed. I'm just interested in new features and other noticable changes, not bugfixes (unless it was a very noticeable bug) and small balance changes. [link] [comments]
