ESEA supports cheating teams in Int/Main league

Posted: 22 Dec 2016 07:45 AM PST

Posting for a friend. His team was one of those who had a chance to get a spot in the playoffs stolen by this cheating team.
It all started in November, when the roster locked (basically you cannot add new players after a certain date, and have to play with your current line up, no additions allowed).
They didn't have 5 players, because one of their players got banned for account sharing.
To avoid this roster lock, a new account was allegedly created by team "WiseGG" and joined their roster.
This way, they can now give this account to anyone they want, and the roster lock does not affect them at all.
They had their last 2 games of the season - the most important games, to decide if they are making playoffs and Main league or not.
The new account then played both games, and they won 1 game - which guaranteed them Main league and playoffs.
After a few days ESEA found out, looked into it and decided to ban the new account for account sharing.
ESEA has also decided to ban their leader for 6 months for malicious activity.
At this point you would think ESEA would give the cheating team's spot to the next team, at number 17.
Unfortunately, you can see that this team is now disbanded and does not exist anymore.
This is because ESEA did not give them their spot in playoffs and Main league.
Instead, they let "WiseGG", who they have just banned 2 players of and confirmed that they were account sharing, keep their spot on playoffs and all they did was give them a forfeit lose.
ESEA did not overturn the 1 won game that got "WiseGG" into Main League and playoffs over another legit team.
Usually, ESEA does overturn games and move the cheating team down to Open Leauge, but this did not happen in this case - I don't know why.
If this is allowed, then it just shows that you should cheat on ESEA League and you won't be punished, you will be moved up a league.
When asked about it, the head of ESEA League Admins answered this.
The only reason that this team won enough matches to earn a move-up, is because they cheated.
He is talking about overturned matches, but in reality, there were NO overturned matches due to this.
Bottom line is, you can cheat before playoffs to secure a spot in Main League, steal another team's sport, and no matches will be overtunred.
TLDR : Team "WiseGG" robbed off a spot in Main League from another legit team by cheating (account sharing, not hacking), ESEA found out about it, banned 2 users including the team leader, but didn't overturn any games and moved the cheating team up to Main League.
The team that they stole the spot from disbanded.

Older gamers

Posted: 22 Dec 2016 07:42 AM PST

Anyone else catch grief from kids when they find you are older than their fathers and playing the same level they are?
I generally play with others in their upper 30's and 40's who are MG2/MGE's and when a kid checks my profile and see that I'm 48, they basically telling me I have no life.
I always get a laugh out of a statements like that, especially on a Friday or Saturday night, because I never would have been home on those nights in my 20's...
I have no life? Uh no... I have 4 adult kids and a granddaughter, am pushing 50 and have nothing but free time in the evenings, with exception of the Master's Degree I'm finishing. I've been a PC gamer since Doom, why the hell should I stop enjoying something I've done for decades if it is still fun?
Any other older gamers catching grief?
Any kids wishing their dads would play? Just curious, as my two oldest sons played the original Counter-Strike with me before joining the Army.

How can I actually learn to play CS?

Posted: 22 Dec 2016 07:51 AM PST

I'm not talking about the beginner stuff, I'm doing that stuff. I train my aim, my spray, my smokes, and movement. I learn new flashes, and watch pro matches and streamers to learn new stuff, and use it. I watch my demos, I watch pro demos of good players, and I practice every day. My aim isn't good, but I'm getting better.
If I had to sum up what I suffer with it is what I would call "adreN syndrome." Get me out of game, and I can talk about what I did wrong, what the other team did right and wrong, and how to counter plays. I can tell people how to play outside the game, but I can't do it in game. I peek stupid shit all the time, I push stupid places, I over rotate, and I run around doing nothing on CT side, and my positioning is awful. I find myself out in the open all the time, and I don't know when to throw nades.
I know how to buy and stuff, but I don't know how to use the shitty guns, and how to play certain positions. For example, on Mirage, I play A like, every pug. I can play from under balc decently, and get a kill or two from there, but then I can't do anything if I play at triple, sandwich, stairs, CT, firebox, default, or anywhere else. I also struggle with throwing the grenades too early, and so they do no damage, or don't stop the Ts pushing.
I want to know how to actually play CS competently. I want tips on who to watch demos of, how and when to rotate, knowing when to flank or not to flank. I know how to practice aim, I know how to buy, and I know grenades. I practice this stuff daily, but it doesn't seem to help.
My settings are as follows
RES-1024x768 black bars
VIDEO SETTINGS-all low
SENS-500 DPI 1.6 sens(equivalent to 400 DPI 2 sens or 800 DPI 1 sens)
My issue is that I basically throw every round on CT side by not getting any kills even if I have a Godly position on a player. Please help me get good at CS, not just average.
EDIT-I would like to add that I don't play on a team, just ESEA pugs. Here is my ESEA. I would like to play a season of ESEA Open next season, or when I have time, but I only have two friends to play with me.
EDIT 2-If anyone knows who to watch to give good tips for this stuff on youtube, can I get a link. I know of warowl, but he only does the basic stuff that I know already.
EDIT 3-I have a 144Hz monitor, Hyper X Cloud 2 Headset, a big QCK+, and a decent mouse that I plan to upgrade soon enough.
