All jokes aside, I want you to actually imagine having an arrow in your knee Posted: 01 Sep 2018 11:24 PM PDT Imagine that you're out adventuring and a sneak archer sends an arrow flying across a field. One moment you're chasing a bunny and picking mountain flowers, the next you hear a sharp whistle as the arrow flies through the air and straight into your knee. The archer flees and you are left with a painful wound that won't immediately kill you. It tears your ACL, it tears your MCL, it fractures your knee cap and remains stuck. You can't pull it out and the pain is crippling sending you into shock. As you begin to fade in and out of consciousness your adrenaline and endorphins start pumping. There is a pool of blood below you and your leg is completely incapacitated as it continues oozing from the wound. You muster up every bit of strength you have and hop, crawl, and pull yourself to the nearest town. After hours of agonizing pain and accepting the fate of sovngarde you reach the town. The guards call for a healer and you are carried away to the nearest temple. Here you remain for what seems an eternity as the healers work to remove the arrow and cleanse the wound. After quite some time you stand up, ready to rebuild the muscle in your leg which hasn't been used in months. You limp and stagger out of the temple and are greeted by a town guard. You express your troubles and ask for work. He recommends you to the jarl and with this reference you get your first job and a fresh new start at life as a town guard. Having not much knowledge of how to do the job you question the townsfolk about sweet rolls and remind them of your pastime adventuring and how it did not fair well with that tragic accident on that fateful day. Think about how terrifying you must be to the people of Skyrim. Posted: 01 Sep 2018 09:23 PM PDT You are a being capable of literally anything, you'll do anything, kill anyone, destroy everything to get your way. You act spontaneously and unpredictably, one day you'll murder a town mercilessly because somebody looked at you funny and the next you'll help somebody find an heirloom just to be nice. You never sleep, eat, or show your face and you just claim that you've slain Alduin and that you've saved Tamriel from infinite threats. Nobody has any reason to believe you but do they dare doubt you? Do they dare get on the bad side of this faceless unstoppable force? Even things that are mere legends and things feared throughout the province simply disappear overnight falling to the Dragonborn. You practically aren't even human, you just hunt down legends and powers until only one legend remains, you. Woe to those who dare face the legend hunter. [link] [comments]

Is it worth buying Skyrim again. Posted: 02 Sep 2018 02:22 AM PDT I got Skyrim on the switch and played for about 130 hours. But there are no mods on the switch except the heathfire, dragonborn and dawngaurd dlc. I am thinking of buying it on steam to play it with mods. Is it worth buying Skyrim 2 times? (I don't have a PS4 or Xbone, only a switch and a gaming PC.) Edit: Thanks to everyone who replied and told me to buy it again. My final decision: I am definitely going to buy it on steam again. Every single character I make, I can’t help but kill every thalmor I see. Posted: 01 Sep 2018 07:36 PM PDT I hate those guys. I feel like they're the only unilaterally evil faction in the game. I can't think of any others [link] [comments]

How I accidentally became a Mage [College of Winterhold spoilers] Posted: 02 Sep 2018 06:46 AM PDT When I first played Skyrim, it was my first Elder Scrolls game and I was unfamiliar with much of the mechanics of the games in the series. So when I heard about the College of Winterhold, I thought that going there was the only way to learn how to cast spells. And so, after fighting the Dragon at the watch tower, I decided that I should learn magic before going any futher in the Main Quest. After a traumatic experience at Alftand, I managed to get to Winterhold. After a quick lesson with wards, I went over to Saarthal and so began the College quest. During the quest I wore mage robes and used destruction spells, as I felt that it wouldn't be right to complete the College quest decked out in armor and bashing enemies with a shield (I did use a one-handed sword though). Consequently, I was putting much of my skill points into magic and the destruction school. After the quest ended, I was so used to casting destruction spells that I didn't want to go back to wearing armor and carrying around a shield. So I threw on the Arch-Mage's robes and headed to High Hrothgar to meet with the Graybeards. Since then, I've always had a spell in my left hand. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 08:50 PM PDT At first I hated there, it made me somehow dizzy. But as I replayed the Dragonborn DLC several times, Apocrypha became oddly cozy for me. Now I love wandering there. I feel like I'm in a quiet library with fantastic atmosphere and astonishing collection of books. Maybe I'm getting seduced by Mora, lol [link] [comments] |
