Hello members of the /r/hearthstone community,

This is part of a series of weekly threads aimed at both new and old players from the community. It is designed so that everybody may ask any and all questions regarding the game's mechanics, decks, strategies and more.

Please keep it clean and try to add more than just a one or two word response. As the goal of this post is to increase the community's knowledge, the thought process matters as much as the answer! There is also a Theorycrafting Thursday weekly post, for those who wish to discuss some of the more intricate aspects of the game.

*Last week Sweden had a bye, and didn't face anybody. there is conflicting evidence on whether they are 3-2 or 2-2, but as far as I am aware concerning tiebreakers if Sweden win against Hong Kong then they qualifyplsdontblamemeiftheyareout

Doomsayer vs Resurrect Priest: The most tragic game of hearthstone I've ever played

Game Mode: Wild

Opponent's Deck: Resurrect Priest

My Deck: Doomsayer + 29 other cards

Early on in the game, my opponent summons a 5/5 Y'Shaarj with Shadow Essence, and I kill it, adding Y'Shaarj to his resurrect pool. Later on in the game, he builds a board of an obsidian statue and a Ragnaros. I play my doomsayer as a hail mary to buy myself some time as I figure out how the hell to deal with these big threats. I cross my fingers, but I'm #neverlucky, so he immediately Entombs my doomsayer on his turn. And then, something incredible happens. He plays his Eternal Servitude, and chooses to discover Y'Shaarj to resurrect, instead of one of the other minions that died this game. "Oops," I emote. He pauses. He ends his turn, and Y'Shaarj pulls the doomsayer from his deck. "Wow!" I pass, and it clears his board. The next turn, he plays his Lich King, alongside a 2 mana Resurrect. .........it resurrects the doomsayer. "Wow!" A couple turns later, he sees an opportunity to reclaim the board. He summons 3 minions with his spellstone: obsidian statue, Y'Shaarj, and you guessed it, doomsayer. "Wow!" At the end of his turn, Y'Shaarj pulls out his other obsidian statue from his deck. "Wow!" I pass and his board is cleared for the third time. For some strange reason, he continues to play out the game. A few turns later, he plays an upgraded spellstone. It summons Ragnaros, Lick King, an obsidian statue, and the doomsayer.

To my opponent if you ever read this, may RNGesus bless your next thousand games with perfect mulligans and opponent disconnects. You deserve it.
