2K says microtransactions are “an unfortunate reality” of gaming now

Posted: 04 Sep 2018 01:09 PM PDT

When asked about this, Rob Jones responded by saying that "VC is an unfortunate reality of modern gaming."

"Every game, at some point, in some way has currency and they're trying to get additional revenue from each player that plays the game. You know, the question has to be when does it feel like it's a straight money grab versus when does it feel like it's value added, right?

We know nowadays that most people don't have the patience to work their way to the top. They just wanna be there right away. So, you know, we look at it as, oh it's an opportunity for us to allow you to skip the grind, but then if the grind is too long, like some people felt last year, they're gonna sit there and they're gonna go 'well, you knew the grind was too long to begin with."

Despite my minor frustrations at the way I had finally reached the epilogue, upon watching the credits roll and various screens appeared bringing up memories of earlier game moments I felt a fondness for each of the characters. Over the course of 428: Shibuya Scramble I had grown to know these characters and see them through tough situations. I was genuinely concerned when some were put in danger, and often found myself chuckling at whatever ludicrous situation or funny ending I happened upon. 428: Shibuya Scramble left an empty feeling in my stomach once I had finished, as I realized my time with these characters had come to a close and no new significant time would be spent with them. It's a familiar feeling, one that punctuates the end of stories that I was always sad to have to finally put down.

PlayStation LifeStyle - Noe Ponce 10.0 / 10.0

I have never played a game quite like 428: Shibuya Scramble. It's hands-down the best visual novel I've ever experienced. Anything you could want in a visual it offers. Deep character development, a rich, meaningful story, humor, action, romance, you name it! Hell, it even teaches you things! Did you know that in Japanese law a kidnapping is different than an abduction? The more you know, am I right? I can see why it's one of only 25 games to have ever earned a perfect 40/40 from Famitsu Weekly, Japan's largest circulating video game magazine. The bottom line is, that as far as visual novels go, 428: Shibuya Scramble is one of the best. Download the demo on the PlayStation Store today and try it out for yourself.

RPG Site - Josh Torres 10 / 10

Inventive, thrilling and brilliantly executed, 428: Shibuya Scramble is a masterpiece of the visual novel genre.

What do you think of the Battlefied V Beta?

Posted: 05 Sep 2018 06:13 AM PDT

I played the beta yesterday and left with pretty mixed feelings. As a BF veteran i played every game to a more or lesser extent. The BF5 Beta just felt very odd. You have less ammo now and the time to kill seems to be shorter now. Which are welcome changes. But the gameplay, design and setting just feels very "off" and not like a WW2 setting.

All in all, BF5 feels like a Battlefield that brings nothing really new to the table and makes a lot of things worse than the previous games.

What do you guys think?
