Tuesday No Stupid Questions Thread - September 04, 2018 Posted: 04 Sep 2018 08:11 AM PDT Welcome newcomers to the fog! Here you can ask any sort of questions about Dead by Daylight, from gameplay mechanics to the current meta and strats for certain killers / survivors / maps / what have you. Some rules and guidelines specific to this thread; Top-level comments must contain a question about Dead by Daylight, the fanbase surrounding the game or the subreddit itself. No complaint questions. ('why don't the devs fix this shit?') No concept / suggestion questions. ('hey wouldn't it be cool if x was in the game?') No tech support questions. ('i'm getting x bug/error, how to fix this?') /r/deadbydaylight is not a direct line to BHVR. Uncivil behavior and encouraging cheating will be more stringently moderated in this thread. The Spirit is a weak killer and Rancor is an insulting bandaid. Posted: 04 Sep 2018 03:57 AM PDT Leaving things up to chance is not a good gameplay mechanic. I think we can all agree that if the spirit was able to see the survivor, or even just a Wraith like shimmer when in spirit form she'd be broken op. But this alternative of "lets just gimp her in every way imaginable" is so much god damned overkill its not even funny. Lets just go over the list, in exchange for a long cooldown, longer lasting pig dash with Freddy invis you are: Unable to see survivors at all, they are just as invisible as you are. Unable to see blood. Are restricted to 110% movespeed when not using your power. Cannot rely on audio because of the obnoxious woosh noise. Must sit still for ~2 seconds to charge the power, losing distance and sight of the survivor .3 seconds into the charge. - You are unable to see any and all Auras while using your power. No BBQ, no Nurses Calling, no Bitter Murmur, and no Object of Obsession. All of that, honestly, in my opinion, is massively overkill. You could maybe put up some weak argument about being able to see blood being op, but how are you going to justify not being allowed to see any Auras while using your power. Imagine if Nurse/Billy couldn't see any Auras while using their powers. Two of the strongest perks would be made useless. As they are on the spirit. And the devs think they can just sneak in Rancor, a shitty version of Bitter Murmur that has the added benefit of allowing you to insta down and mori the obsession once all the gens are powered. Haunted Ground is nice but the fact that one Totem gets popped means both get removed is just wasted potential. Wait out the exposed and then you can cleanse any other totem with no worries. They were doing better than me at the start, getting some generators and I'd hooked one or two but that's it. I ended up turning it around and there was only one left with one generator to go. After running around trying to find the hatch and him (found the hatch) the lone wolfs buddies started messaging me saying he was hiding until I quit. Told them I got time and kept on looking. Guess who I found 10-15 minutes later, hit, chased around and hooked for the 4k. Felt good finding him. Then they kept messaging me for the next like 20 minutes trying to get me to join their party and 1v1 their friend who was the last guy.
