Those renders that popped up on 4chan are now confirmed fake. Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:20 PM PDT For those of you unaware, this image started circulating on 4chan last night. There was a lot of talk about it one way and another, but no one was able to explicitly deconfirm the veracity of the rumored characters. However, the person who originally posted the images has started to show off suplemental images to add credibility to the "leak".... and in doing so, has actually exposed themselves as a fraud. Take a look at this one. Other than the renders looking off, there are two notable mistakes in the image. First of all, the character's name isn't Agnés Oblige; it's actually Agnès Oblige. The photoshopper got the accent mark backwards, which is a mistake that would likely not have slipped by Sakurai, the entirety of the dev team, and Square Enix all at the same time. Believe it or not though, that's not the biggest mistake in this image. See the franchise logo for the Chorus Kids? It's an RH, which would make sense because the franchise is called Rhythm Heaven, right? That's true... but only in the United States. The ffranchise is called Rhythm Paradies in Europe and Rhythm Tengoku in Japan, and has other names across various other languages too. Only someone who only knew the franchise by its US title would make the mistake of making the franchise emblem RH. Oh well. Discussion was fun while it lasted! [link] [comments]
The real reason why Temple is the best designed large stage in Smash Bros. history Posted: 30 Aug 2018 04:23 PM PDT A thought occured to me while playing on Temple with a friend the other day: the stage has a really unique upside-down triangular shape that no other large stage has. When I think about it, this is probably the main reason why everybody likes Temple - it's actually possible to kill people on the top levels of the stage through edgeguarding, as the stage's shape prevents characters from reaching the lower levels especially on the rightmost ledge and even the leftmost ledge if guarded well enough. This seems like a really obvious design choice to make edgeguarding even possible on larger stages, making them actually fun for 2-player or even 3-player unlike most large stages, but for some reason only Temple is designed in this way. Palutena's Temple's square shape is designed in a way that prevents players from edgeguarding or even KOing at all if their opponent is below 200% in most areas; those smashed off the top levels can simply fall onto a lower-level platform. Gaur Plains has a really weird inverted triangle shape where a gap is left in the middle; smashing somebody offscreen is basically impossible on the stage because both the left and the right are covered in easily reachable platforms, leaving you to hope for a spike or wait for somebody to somehow be stuck in freefall in the gap. Even well-liked big stages such as Hyrule Castle have design flaws in this field; I find it very difficult to KO a fighter from the central platforms due to the large amount of stage on either side, and it's too easy for a fighter to run away from another fighter in a 1v1. It's pretty clear how Temple fixes this problems; running away from your opponent is usually punished, as you can only really run left or right on the top level, and your path usually takes you to the cramped lower level where running away is made more difficult. Some larger stages unfortunately feel like they were designed without thinking of the mechanics of Smash. Obviously there's 75m which is literally just a Donkey Kong level lazily slapped into Smash bros, but there's also Jungle Hijinx which is just a segment of DKCR's first level copied into smash without any considerations into level design (the two-plane thing is antithetical to the ideas of smash bros, literally separating the fighters away from eachother). Even stages that no doubt underwent a lot of fine-tuning, such as New Pork City, are laid out in a way that makes it difficult to KO - there's only one level (maybe two if you count the lower portion on the left) with a cave of life in the middle, and most of the centre of the stage is completely empty. It's especially difficult to KO another player off the platforms on the right because they can float down to any of the platforms below it. I feel like the chimeras were added to this stage simply to increase the chances of somebody getting KOd. I guess what I'm trying to say is I wish there was more than one really well-designed large stage in Smash Bros. On most large stages it's pretty much impossible to have fun 1v1, and on newer ones even 4 player matches feel sparse; stages on the larger side feel like the weakest part of Smash Bros to be honest. Are there any large stages that prove me wrong, or has anyone had an enjoyable fight on a larger stage that isn't Temple? It'd be great to hear about your experiences with the large stages in Smash. The official Site no longer has new on items, stages, fighters. Posted: 30 Aug 2018 05:10 PM PDT Not found by me, came across it by this gamefaqs post https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/234547-super-smash-bros-ultimate/76952261 https://www.smashbros.com/en_US/index.html Also there is something about videos redirecting to the fighter page or something like that. Perhaps this is a sign of something happening soon EDIT: Assist trophy and Pokeball layout changed. Instead of being on a scroll bar to the side, the Assist Trophies and Pokeball are at the bottom. Thanks [link] [comments]

Jesus Christ, I just realized Brawl came out 10 years ago. Posted: 30 Aug 2018 06:40 PM PDT I mean, i knew that brawl came out 10 years ago, but I just thought about that memory of popping that game into my wii for the first time and battling my brother. The fact that it was 10 years ago makes me feel old as fuck [link] [comments]

Will Smash Ultimate get a 50-Fact Extravaganza like it's predecessor did? Posted: 30 Aug 2018 01:34 PM PDT Like, with a game this big, it's gonna have big mysteries. I personally think that Smash Ultimate DESERVES a Fact Direct like Wii U did. What do you think they'd announce in the Direct if it happens? [link] [comments]
This is mental to think about (at least for me) Posted: 30 Aug 2018 08:17 PM PDT When Smash 64 released, the NES was 14 years old When Ultimate releases, the Wii will be 13 years old Let that sink in for a moment [link] [comments]

Who will be the random new character? Posted: 30 Aug 2018 10:14 AM PDT I see a lot of character speculation posts that go over the same popular choices for Smash. Thing if for both Brawl and Smash4 there were new characters that no one was really talking about that were only revealed on the game's release with no pregame fanfare. This was R.O.B for Brawl and Duck Hunt for Smash 4. So who could you see being a weird outside the box day of addition? [link] [comments]
With all of those custom moves from Sm4sh... Posted: 30 Aug 2018 11:52 AM PDT You'd think some of these echos in Sma5h would have the custom version specials. I fully expected Dark Samus to have differences like a slow moving charge shot projectile ... Missed opportunities... But, I'm still hyped. [link] [comments]

Drawing a Newcomer Every 10 Days: Chibi-Robo Posted: 30 Aug 2018 05:14 PM PDT
I'm a day late, but I'm going to draw one of my most wanted newcomers every 10 days until Ultimate comes out, starting with Chibi-Robo! I just wanted to practice drawing again, and I'm so hype for Smash that this seemed like the best way to do it. Thanks for checking it out despite the over-saturation of art posts!
