Yolo rush in (diamond) ranked

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 02:31 AM PDT

If you want to increase kapkans win delta make his traps faster to deploy, currently you have to spend atleast 10-15 seconds after the round has started to place down traps, making you vunrable to rushers

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 06:11 AM PDT

Maybe give him another trap aswell, his gun is fine

Edit: Also its annoying that you get placed in the middle of the doorway when deploying the EDD's, can we deploy them from the sides too so we can use it mid round without getting 100% killed?

Teammates running through or close to the door or Window you are planting the EDD in also cancels your planting

Would be cool if we could stick them anywhere but Would probably be broken af

Place gadgets in spots where you fall during the animation by having a teammate stand behind you.

10 Commandments of Voice Comms

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 08:29 AM PDT

  1. In most cases, the simplest and best thing you can say is [operator name] + [location]. Short, sweet, and useful.

  2. Use objective callouts that can be understood from anywhere on the map, such as a room name, a cardinal direction, or common features/landmarks.

  3. Give info quickly, calmly and only once. Info loses value within seconds, and repeating yourself or yelling makes your comms harder to understand, not easier.

  4. Don't speculate about where enemies are or what they're doing. Bad info is worse than no info.

  5. Call out actions that globally impact the map or your team, such as planting a defuser, opening a hatch, breaching a reinforcement, using a Lion drone, getting interrogated by Cav, etc.

  6. Make requests instead of demands. Teammates can be busy or might disagree with you.

  7. Negative responses are not only OK, they're useful. If someone asks you a question, it's acceptable to say things like "I don't know" or "I can't do that right now."

  8. Don't backseat unless you are absolutely positive someone has missed something important. You have no privileged information (you are seeing exactly what the spectated player sees) AND you are talking over game audio.

  9. Avoid relying on yellow tags unless you are confident your teammates can see and understand them. Deciphering a tag through walls or floors can be difficult or impossible. (edit: to be clear by yellow tags I mean pings, forgot the word when writing.)

  10. Above all else, be friendly. There is nothing more disruptive than being hostile over voice. It's worse than the worst throw, the worst potato aim, the worst team comp, or the worst defensive setup. If you're berating your team, YOU are the one throwing the match.

Bot Test -- feel free to ignore

Posted: 14 Aug 2018 03:16 PM PDT

Update on the next morning: Forgot to remove the post because it got quite late yesterday, wake up to see someone gilded lol.

While we're already here, might as well explain what's going on with this post:

On /r/Rainbow6 we have a little feature that I like to call comment flairing. If you submitted a post, you're able to assign a post flair by leaving a specific comment, eg. you can comment flair: discussion on your post and a bot will apply the corresponding flair. For a full guide, check out our Subreddit Meta Guide.

Not sure what use cases find for this because flairs are now pretty well supported across all Reddit version (old design, redesign, mobile apps, etc) but it's still used every now and then so we continue to offer that option.

Due to poor AutoMod support for redesign flairs, we decided to create a custom-built bot: meet /u/R6Bot. Apart from some internal use cases, it has been handling comment flairing for the past few weeks. With that also came a stickied post for Ubi-responses, example here.

AutoMod redesign flair support was improved last week and yesterday I moved general comment flaring back to AutoMod. The Ubi-response feature will remain on my bot so we can all continue to enjoy that luxury. To test if that was all working, this thread was created.

The results: somewhat disappointing. AutoMod cannot deal with flairs that are marked mod-only (we got quite a few of those). Oh well, but regular users can still enjoy all of this without limitations.

TL;DR: /u/R6Bot >>> /u/AutoModerator

New OP 'Maverick'.

Thinking about the blow torch operator that Ubi just teased. Thinking about it logically, Bandit and Mute will not be able to counter a cutting torch. What will be his counter? I'm thinking Mira but still, a Hardbreach with not traditional counter.
