A completely ridiculous Brawl idea: 1 lane, 5v5 Stitches, hooks can pull friendly and enemy buildings, including the core, but the cores are invulnerable, the objective is to bring the enemy core to the altar in your base. It's like a tug of war capture the flag.

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 04:41 PM PDT

Just let that sink in.

The cores can still attack, so that would have to be kept in.

Yes, it's completely ridiculous, but it might just be fun.

Blizzard, please implement a "grace period" for changing talents

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 02:33 PM PDT

Now very rarely I will misclick when selecting a talent, maybe in the heat of battle or I'm distracted, whatever, but considering how important talents can be in this game, this can be really bad.

Now, I know when it happens it's my mistake, but there is nothing I can do to fix it, which makes it feel worse.

What I'd like is the option to change talent pick for a short period of time after picking (be it 10 seconds, that would be enough most of the time, maybe 20, not too much though obviously so it can't be abused), in case you've made a mistake.

Again, I know it's a stupid mistake to make, but on some heroes this can really screw up your game/build...

[Edit] As suggested in the comments, if you're worried about abuse, make the talents lock once you use the associated skill, problem solved.

[Edit 2] I also like Senshado's solution: let us pre-pick talents while being able to change the pre-pick before you reach the talent tier. That way misclicks won't screw up your build anymore.

Hots vs Dots -- why does an expected heal trump a dot death?

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 09:05 AM PDT

Several times I have died after taking my well/malf hot during a DOT effect that has resulted in my death. Yesterday, it resulted in a loss. I was tracer -- I could've recalled (30s cd) a guldan dot that was going to kill me, my friend on khara could've palmed (longer cd) me or healed me, but instead triaged me as my status health indicated I was going to live after well. Except, I didn't. The dot tick was stronger than the hot tick, and, as a result, I died.

If I'm going to die before the hot tick, don't indicate to literally every one in the game that I'm not going to die.

Taking a break from games but I wanted to share some clips over the years of my favorite hero before I go (and obligatory thanks/TLV rework request to Blizzard!)

Thank you, /r/heroesofthestorm

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 07:55 PM PDT

I made this account just to post this. I honestly should have made a reddit account a long time ago especially because I'm here pretty often.

Anyway, I just want to thank this sub. I'm a young adult in his early 20's and I've been battling depression for more than a year. Several factors have fucked me up the past year. My girlfriend of 8 years cheated on me, I grew up with an emotionally abusive mother who never supported me on anything (sports, the major I chose in college, you name it) I have fucked up ankles because they've suffered from a couple of grade 3 sprains so I can't even play sports anymore...

With that being said, I just want to say thank you to this sub. I know I haven't really interacted with any of you and none of you can really be here for me, but surfing through all the posts to see all the funny quips, memes, insightful analysis and everything in between has made the days more bearable. Thank you for being a great sub that never sleeps and for making me understand the game better.

I think it is time to add swap hero into HL.

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 03:26 AM PDT

I feel personally, that third ban is an good thing to make hero league better, but there is one more thing to do... Many may not understand quoting Vol'Jin but... I think it is time to add hero swap after picks. Like it is in non standard games.

Customize poses for picks and MVP screen

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 07:21 PM PDT

Just like in overwatch when the victory poses appear at the end of every match . In heroes we could have them for MVP poses at the end of every game . And for picking phase in ranked and unranked

https://www.google.es/search?q=overwatch+victory+ooses&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=es-es&client=safari#imgrc=4VmeLy3YMRdiuM:

I personally think it wouldn't be a nice addition for customization options , what do you think ?

Which hero release will be your happiest?

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 01:55 PM PDT

I personally got all of my favorite Blizzard characters during the early stages of the game (Medivh and Artanis) so I'm not really looking forward like crazy for any Hero release currently. However, I'm always very happy to hear of the latest characters in the game because they are always fun and they look amazing.

So to keep this short, which Blizzard character is going to be the one that will make you the happiest once it is revealed to be the next?

There are hundreds upon hundreds of characters that Blizzard has made and I wanted to hear why you guys want a specific one.

I like playing E.T.C, so I am honestly looking forward to Baine Bloodhoof or Cairne Bloodhoof.

Whitemane Tips and Tricks

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 07:40 AM PDT

Interactions:

  • Clemency works with Shared Punishment. You can heal an ally and damage another enemy to have bigger numbers in skirmishes, or to channel from a safer position
  • Clemency applies Zeal
  • Radiance doesn't apply Zeal! The tooltip for Self-Righteous mentions it, but Radiance's tooltip doesn't.
  • Using Fanatical Power during Divine Reckoning looks as if it increases its damage, but it doesn't. You should always have Fanatical Power activated before ulting, and it will apply for the full duration of the ult even if used at the last second. Same goes for Purge the Wicked with Fanatical Power!
  • Because of Zeal, Whitemane's damage ult is actually a major healing ult.
  • Fanatical Power can be activated while channeling Inquisition/Clemency, and it does apply properly to the ongoing channel
  • The stack of Desperation that Intercession gives you can be used as the third stack to activate Radiance, and can give you mana through High Inquisition.
  • The root from Harsh Discipline can be applied with the first hit of Searing Lash, making it very reliable and consistent. Even if you don't W in time for the first one, the second hit will often root, too.
  • Hitting the second Searing Lash hit on a rooted target doesn't refresh the root's duration.
  • The second Hero hit with Inquisition through Shared Punishment can also be rooted with Harsh Discipline, and is also affected by Subjugation
  • Martyrdom doesn't apply to any of the Q-related talents
  • Righteous Flame and Lashing Out are additive, not multiplicative. 175% damage instead of 187%

Gameplay:

  • Sally can be quite bursty.. level 20 numbers
  • Like, really bursty. And 100% of that damage turns to healing for a multi-person ancestral if you make sure to keep your Zeal up!
  • Often your best chance at survival while retreating is actually turning around and dealing damage to heal from.
  • Weave in autoattacks for more healing. Whitemane's attack speed is surprisingly high at 1.33/s
  • The -25 armor from Fanatical Power can be mended with the +40 armor from Scarlet Aegis.
  • Building Clemency + High Inquisition can provide very high out-of-combat healing
  • You can regain more mana than you spent if you use High Inquisition on 1 stack of Desperation

In HL and UD can we get the option to pass first pick?

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 08:40 AM PDT

I play a lot of draft, but always prefer not first picking. The option to pass it and someone else can pick it up and you get their place would be awesome!

New Player QM Queue Is Awful

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 06:14 AM PDT

I recently made a healer only alt account to get to practice healing without being matched with my regular MMR which is just horrible match after horrible match (I'd guess I'm a better solo lane / tank than healer). The healing heroes are shockingly expensive on this new FTP account, but that's not the real pain point. The real pain point is 5-10 minute QM queues on a weekend morning. Blizzard, the new player queues are a nice idea, but they take way too long. I don't know how you can get new players with these queues. People will try this game, assume it's dead, and then go back to LOL...

Lore/Nostalgia Skin Suggestions

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 05:00 PM PDT

Here are a few skin ideas meant to reflect certain characters as they appeared at different points in their stories (like Daelaam Artanis and Warchief Sylvanas) or as they appeared in older games (like Betrayer Illidan and Classic Zul'jin).

Death Knight Arthas [WC3]

Like the default Arthas, but without his helmet and with the Crown Prince voice-over. This skin was available in the Alpha, then removed because some felt taking his helmet off was too minor a change to warrant a separate skin... but we now have skins that make even smaller changes, and this was how Arthas looked throughout most of Warcraft III.

https://i.imgur.com/zRr5b6p.jpg

Hooded Death Knight Arthas [WC3]

A variant of Death Knight Arthas with a non-tattered cloak and his hood worn up, reflecting the way he looked shortly before he slew his father.

https://i.imgur.com/MIluHnG.jpg

Scourge Death Knight Arthas [WC3]

A variant of Death Knight Arthas based on his in-game model, wearing blue and purple with yellow markings on his cloak.

https://i.imgur.com/nqBg2cz.png

Three Hammers Muradin [WoW]

A helmetless variant of Ymirjar Lord Muradin with a circlet, a ponytail, and a braided beard.

https://i.imgur.com/ZvN1P6u.jpg

Broken Shore Varian [WoW]

Like the default Varian, but without his cloak or pauldrons. Some level of battle damage might also be appropriate.

https://i.imgur.com/Pj4C5uo.jpg

Brood War Kerrigan [SC1]

A green-skinned Kerrigan who still wears a damaged black ghost suit.

https://i.imgur.com/y6dHBwb.png

Classic Fenix [SC1]

The bright teal and gold look of Fenix's original in-game unit. This could work as a tint, but would be better as a skin that made him look more like a Brood War dragoon (in which case a blue and gold variant would be cool too).

https://i.imgur.com/wpq2KwM.png

Solarite Fenix [SC2]

The white dragoon used by the Purifier Fenix (Talandar) in StarCraft 2's co-op mode. This would work best with themed abilities (for orange energy effects). It could even have a Talandar portrait and voice-over (which could be shared with a Talandar hero, if he were added to the game in his Praetor Armor suit).

Which other heroes have established looks (in other games) that might make for good skins?

Adjusting ratio of legendary heroes to epic/rare

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 06:04 PM PDT

I would like to point out the current breakdown of heroes by cost in this game:

Legendary (10k): 36

Epic (7k): 35

Rare: 8

Many of the "legendary" heroes have been out for over a year and should have the their costs decreased just to expand access to them. Also, with the increased number of bans, I think making heroes more accessible cost-wise will help expand players' roles/pick availability.

Legendary heroes that have been out for at least 1+ years: zuljin, ragnaros, varian, samuro, zarya, alarak, auriel, medivh, chromie, tracer, dehaka, xul, cho'gall, lt morales, TLV, abathur

Blizzard Mutant Ninja Heroes (Skin Suggestion)

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 03:44 PM PDT

I would love for Blizzard to add Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle inspired skins to the Nexus. Here are some ideas for who gets what skin:

Leonardo: Varian / Genji / Samuro

Donatello: Chen / Yrel

Michelangelo: Illidan / Johanna

Rafael: Artanis / Alarak / Malthael / Kharazim

Splinter: Deckard

Shredder: Alarak / Artanis

I may have missed some obvious heroes so let me know.

Anyone else getting too many Hero League games held hostage by trolls?

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 12:11 AM PDT

I'm not sure if it's because I'm playing more Hero League this season, but the amount of games I've had trolls that would hold the game hostage have been so high these past couple of days. Things like purposely go AFK, flame someone for a non meta hero resulting in the upset person to auto lock another off meta pick, feed on purpose, or refuse to cooperate and type in chat instead of focusing. Probably had about 5-6 of these games in my 15 or so. I see too many players absolutely lose their shit if one play goes wrong or one player picks a hero they don't agree with which spirals the morale of the team. I've had better games recently by disabling chat to focus on my own play, it's just unfortunate to see this!

Anyone having a similar experience?

Positivity wins games

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 02:41 PM PDT

I just played a game, and someone ended up trying to make a fake joke murky pick, only to accidentally actually pick him instead of heals. (he was going for stukov)

But instead of deciding to immediately say, "welp, gg.." I decided to tell everyone that it was OKAY, and that we could still easily win.

I knew our team had really great pick potential, cause of kerrigan and garrosh, so I told them "if we get a pick, it doesn't matter if we don't have a healer." which ended up being VERY true. We won, lvl 20 to lvl 16 with most kills on our side. We had an anub who wanted to sulk since the beginning, and continued to be a pessimistic person during the game. I combated everything he said, making sure that everyone on the team knew that it was easily winnable... and it really was.

Sure I'm only in silver 3, but that was a really cool game cause we still won, and it was all cause of being positive. I'm absolutely positive if I had joined anub in being pessimistic, we would've definitely lost. It's just SO EASY to being swayed by a pessimistic person into believing it really is a lost game, when turn arounds are a staple of HOTS.

I can definitely be Salty, but I notice that I win more games when I'm being positive.

Butcher is absolutely horrible from a design/balance standpoint and needs a rework

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 06:36 AM PDT

He's basically a win-more hero. If his team is doing well and he gets lots of meat, there's almost no chance for the enemy to come back, because he'll just one-shots half of them later on, but if his team fails to get kills and he fails to get meat, then he's basically useless all game.

How is this good game design? It's snowballing as a hero design.

Support main finally got GM after stopping being Toxic

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 09:39 AM PDT

https://prnt.sc/kensx5 finally got GM again after i stopped being toxic and wanted to share. I am Noodle, or in this case UnholyNoodle and have been master or GM on 7 different accounts each season (all named something with Noodle). I have been so negative that i had 2 accounts silenced up to 12 months. i have several accounts so i could play ranked on a new one whenever the other got silenced, and you might not seen me on the leaderboard because i would get close to GM on an account just to get silenced and then move on to another account. Now i made my goal and got GM after 2 seasons without getting it. the winrate highlighted is for Deckard my most played and main hero atm. Feel free to ask me anything about support or in game stuff in general.
