Well spent free novelty item

I am glad gw 2 will never be a P2W game.

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 11:35 AM PDT

After KAKAO puts the final nail for BDO in the west with p2w all over the place, i just wanted to thank Anet and Gw2 devs for making and keep updating one of the BEST MMORPG today in the market without a single p2w element.

Thx Anet and gw 2 devs!

[NA] Heart of Thorns Full Map Completion Train

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 02:18 PM PDT

Hello /r/guildwars2!

Monthly PSA for those unaware: On Saturday September 1 at 11:30 AM CDT (UTC-5), I will be leading a map completion train through all of Heart of Thorns. No waypoints, mounts, or masteries needed aside from the ones listed below. We will be covering the ENTIRETY of base Heart of Thorns, including hero points, mastery points, strongboxes, waypoints, points of interest, vistas, jumping puzzles, meta events, and hidden achievements. Yes, you read that right. EVERYTHING >:D

Please make sure you have:

  • Shipwreck Peak Waypoint, [&BN4HAAA=]

  • Basic gliding (will get you 95% of map completion)

  • The ability to read

  • A pleasant attitude! <3

Itinerary for the Day (in CDT time)

  • 11:00 - 11:30 AM . Preparation and introduction to the train.

  • 11:30 - 1:30 PM . Verdant Brink map completion + night bosses.

  • 1:30 - 2:00 PM . Break time, preparation for Auric Basin.

  • 2:00 - 4:00 PM . Auric Basin map completion.

  • 4:00 - 4:30 PM . Break time, preparation for Tangled Depths.

  • 4:30 - 6:30 PM . Tangled Depths map completion.

  • 6:30 - 8:00 PM . Dragon's Stand meta, hero points, special loot areas.

This is a full day event, so you are welcome to hop in and out. I will be trying to keep the map as full as possible with overflow squads, but I can't guarantee you a spot in the case everything fills. This event will also be live-streamed at https://www.twitch.tv/eminyaa. Swing by, say hi even if you're on the train! I'll be answering most questions there.

I will be playing on my Chrono 'Emi Nyaa'. Squad will be up at 11 exact. The first 10 minutes will be reserved for whisper invites only. Once it hits XX:10, the squad will be up in LFG → Open World → Verdant Brink. This is on a strict first-come-first serve basis, so please don't spam my chat if the squads are full! If you can't make it to this train, I run these on the first Saturday of every month :)

Feel free to add me on Emikadon.8542. If you have any questions, you're welcome to whisper or mail me in game. Once the train starts, it'll be hard to respond to individual people, so please be understanding if I don't reply.

Thank you, and I hope to see you there!

PSA: Chair novelty has fall damage preventing functionality similar to mounts.

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 05:11 AM PDT

Tested for science at Soulkeeper's Airship Waypoint in Bloodstone Fen.

Equipped chair novelty at the same time as dodge jumping off the airship. Your "seated" 10 HP bar breaks and you "dismount" the chair, surviving the fall.

While not exactly useful information when you can glide or drop on a mount, if you want to drop from the sky in style this is how to go about it.

It is also a faster way of falling as you accelerate faster due to the dodge.

MetaBattle Open World updated for 28 August balance patch

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 04:16 AM PDT

MetaBattle Open World

Hey all, it's the MetaBattle open world curator again with an update for our open world section. The builds should be updated for the changes in yesterday's balance patch. We're still updating the backend, so you might see some errors when the text guides mention new skills and traits, but they will be straightened out over time.

General Changes

  • Some new builds have been added since the last reddit update, including Condi Engi, Condi Holosmith, Auramancer Tempest, Condi Tempest, and Power Firebrand. Some other contributors also helped: Screaming added Condi Minion Scourge and Condi Renegade, while Justforvisit added Condi Chrono. If you guys see this, thanks for the help!
  • A new section has been added for Open World Farming builds. This currently includes Flamethrower Scrapper and Greatsword Mirage. I don't farm much and am just adding builds based on hearsay -- if anyone else has good builds for this, let me know.
  • Links to the wiki, event timer, world boss schedule, and [FARM]'s farming guide have been added.
  • "Ways to Earn Gold" and "Level 80 Survival Guide" still under construction, coming Soon ™

Class Specific Notes

Elementalist

  • Optimal gear for Fresh Air builds has changed.
  • Elementalists are the big winners of open world this patch. Staff and sword got meaningful damage buffs, while the Elements of Rage change actually benefits open world Weavers because it makes it easier to cap crit chance by yourself.
  • Fresh Air builds all benefited from the ferocity buff in the Air traitline. The Optimal Builds now have to run more Assassin's pieces to cap crit chance, but the overall damage should be higher than before the patch.
  • Even the aura change benefited open world Eles, thanks to more CC from Shocking Aura, and the option for vastly improved condition cleanse with Smothering Auras.
  • Eles also have insane mobility!!! from Magnetic Leap in dagger earth. Seriously, try it.

Engineer

  • No build changes.
  • Condition builds got a minor nerf.
  • Power Explosives builds got a nice buff to Orbital Command.
  • Gyros are still crap and not worth bringing for damage. Sorry, Scrapper mains.

Guardian

  • No build changes.
  • Guardians got slightly better ranged damage with the Staff rework and True Shot damage bonus. However, none of our builds currently recommend these weapons, so nothing has changed.

Mesmer

  • No build changes.
  • Scepter got buffed and is now quite a strong ranged condi weapon. It remains highly situational because it's mostly single target and doesn't deal good burst damage; generally you'll want greatsword or staff instead.
  • Mirages got an extremely minor nerf (less than 0.1% dps).

Necromancer

  • No build changes.
  • Necro damage got a small buff across the board.
  • Reapers are now ridiculous in open world because of the quickness in shroud. Have fun tearing through trash mobs.

Ranger

  • Optimal sigils for condi builds have changed.
  • Power Soulbeast had its burst damage nerfed but probably not enough to be noticeable.
  • Condi Soulbeast got some nice damage buffs. As the recommended build already used dagger and Flame Trap this is a straight dps increase.

Revenant

  • Herald traits have changed.
  • While Herald got a significant mechanical shakeup this patch, the playstyle remains more or less the same. Shiro is now recommended over Jalis because the F2 lifesteal is fantastic for soloing. Overall, open world Herald players should notice a slight damage increase.

Thief

  • No build changes.
  • No relevant changes, unless you like Dagger Storm or Scorpion Wire.

Warrior

  • No build changes.
  • The new signet actives create more interesting gameplay for signet-focused Warrior builds, but otherwise don't affect Warrior's playstyle.
  • Rifle now deals surprisingly decent damage and in certain situations (e.g. kiting Heart of Thorns hero challenges) you will appreciate the buff. It's still too clunky for general PvE though.

Afterword

As always, MetaBattle is a community wiki. If you have good ideas or suggestions, feel free to submit new builds or edit existing builds. More info can be found at MetaBattle:Tutorial.

Anyone figured out where to get the Mini Springer Ramona?

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 03:22 PM PDT

Seems to be a different springer mini then the new BLC ones, it's also in the api already so assume it's obtainable somewhere in game.

Guild Finder?

Anyone else surprised there's no actual in-game Guild Finder yet, especially because you can belong to more than one? Would you like to see one added?

Power Reaper (Axe WH, GS) 29,633 (benchmark?)

*Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAgEX4uBHJs

A 30k benchmark by subli was released altering the rotation a bit more. Slowly getting somewhere.

As people have started releasing reaper related dps "benchmarks" for pve I'd figure I hop in. Please don't get stuck following a single Grave digger rotation, the skill, especially when chained with itself is quiet terrible dpswise. Go out and experiment!

Found a weird performance fix for my older CPU (Sandy Bridge)

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 10:56 AM PDT

https://i.imgur.com/10mIGIc.png

Specs of my CPU: i7 2600K

I disable that. Sudden increase in FPS (previously 45- FPS. With many times below 37 FPS)

My overclock also was broken where my CPU clock speed was below the overclock I set it at. And my internal GPU driver was also broken, where I couldn't use Virtual Machines.

This was my AFTER vs BEFORE with Cinebench on 4.6GHz (the lower number was 4.6GHz after the bug)

4.5 GHz was faster than my previous 4.6 GHz at that time

This is my current performance on 4.5GHz vs my previous 4.6GHz AFTER disabling that Core Isolation mode

THIS spot had 36 FPS

Now it has FIFTYFOUR FPS after disabling Core Isolation

Both the OVERCLOCK and INTERNAL DRIVER are fixed now

This is where the setting is located: https://i.imgur.com/U5IAZTh.png

EDIT: I just remembered again what this feature does. Use it at your own risk. It's meant to stop ransomware.

I don't know if having a super tiny Springer backpack is adorable or wish it was a little bit bigger when compared to the mini size
