If anyone asks how I spend the last 6 months, I can now finally show off my new certificate!

This chart represents so much adhesive from the vegetable starch I turned the entire commonwealths hard toiled crops into that I'm certain I lost at least 13,000 because I remember at least twice I couldn't find a very significant amount in any of my containers anywhere.. The third time I actually noticed saw it disappear as I took it from the container.

After some investigating, it turns out that you can't transfer more than 65535 of an item between containers. If you transfer 65536, they all disappear, 65537 and you're left with 1 etc etc. I really wanted a final figure exactly how many people I made starve in my pursuit of power.

I also turned enough steel into caltroops and beartraps to build the city several times over.

I have no idea how many syringes of jetpack I finished with, but I had stashes of 500 everywhere.. every settlement except covenant (i didn't realise you could settle there until i started survival) and every provisioner, I even made robots with chem/meat/alchol packs and criss-crossed them any and every which way I could so that I would see them almost everywhere in central boston..

But yeah, I could wander into the glowing sea naked and fistfight squads of radscorpions by this point.. jumping into survival mode (from very hard) at level one was welll far more nervewracking

I'd like to know who decided to give Dogmeat the ability to open doors.

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 01:13 PM PDT

And ask them what they were thinking. He does it all the time. When exploring a building, closed doors are a good way for me to track where I haven't been yet. But good old Dogmeat just has to open them. And at least twice I've closed a door, turned around to walk away only to hear him open it again. It's one of his favorite things along with blowing my cover, throwing himself on top of a dead body I'm about to loot, knocking over stuff that I've stopped to look at and his incessant whining, barking and howling when I fail to pick up some piece of junk he found. I love Dogmeat but he can be a pain in the ass.

There are no human NPCs in Fallout 76 because all of the outsiders are Ghouls.

How does Little Lamplight survive as a town?

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 03:45 PM PDT

If the town is full of children and only children, how is there a sustained population? Do kids get sent from Big Town?

Character Backstories

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 10:05 AM PDT

Do you come up with in-depth back stories for your characters and base your builds/decisions on that or just decide on a build and play to that build's strengths? If you come up with backstories, feel free to post one in the comments.

Recommended damage overhaul for Survival in FO4?

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 12:23 PM PDT

Hey there vault dwellers! So I recently started a survival playthrough for Fallout 4, and I wanted to overhaul the damage to make combat intense, decisions in combat to matter, and shots to be lethal.

I started off every playthrough for the past year or so with Immersive Gameplay. Basics for damage are torso does 100% damage (however much that may be for the weapon), instant headshot kill (for enemies that make sense, so not deathclaws, Yao Guai, Behemoths, etc.), And 25% less damage for limbs but 25% extra chance to cripple.

The locational damage was the best part. So with all the glitches and little things that put me off with IG, I wanted to make my own overhaul like IG with mods I could find.

To replicate the amazing gunfights I had with IG, I went with Better Locational Damage, Ballistic Realism Overhaul, and Live Dismemberment, and survival options (2.5x damage output and input)

But the game feels.... Inconsistent. Some shots will one-shot a raider at a certain distance, but the same shot will only do a quarter damage with very little difference in the raider. Other stretches of the game I one-shot any human, and three shot a Super Mutant with a .308 combat rifle.

How can I get solidified consistency? Is there a damage overhaul mod that unifies this aspects that I'm looking for?

TL;DR: Looking for a gunplay/damage overhaul mod that makes combat realistic and tense while unifying gameplay and making it Immersive.

Completist on first play through?

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 04:02 PM PDT

Is it better to play through main story quest first and then do all the side quests on subsequent play throughs, or just go full bore the first time? This is specifically for Fallout 3, but I think it could apply to others too. I played New Vegas long ago and am finally getting around to trying Fallout 3. When I played New Vegas, I mostly sped through to the end on the first try and then explored more when playing again. That helped me making some decisions since I had a better idea of the consequences. Does FO3 have that same benefit? It seems simpler in some ways, so I was just curious what people thought.

Fight The Fallout Merc Co (Fallout 76)

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 01:07 AM PDT

So a few friends and I have gotten together recently to think up a cool idea on how we could role play in the new title in the franchise. We eventually decided on making a mercenary company that does a little more than just hunting bounties and protecting caravans. ~ The Fight The Fallout Merc co (or F.T.F Merc co) is a company where mercenaries can be hired to protect settlements, clear out hostile NPC's for settlers, body guarding, acquire nuclear launch codes and other such jobs for varying prices based on danger or complexity. ~ This company also takes pleasure in helping lower levelled players complete missions and learn the game mechanics. We would also like to help these newcomers to the wasteland acquire higher tiered gear without just handing it to them so they can reap the awards of exp so they can level up. ~ This idea is still a work in progress, and won't be a set in stone plan until at least a month before launch. We would like this company to have a ranking system similar to that of the Brotherhood of Steel. Two to three weeks after launch we would like to start recruiting players to our group, including traders and crafters. ~ Thank you for taking the time to read this short post, and any feedback you'd like to give us. We are open to opinions, ideas and concerns about this type of group being in the game. I will also try to reply to comments to the best of my ability.

Note: We plan on doing this on PS4 consoles

Playing Fallout New Vegas, playing normally and doing quests. After a while doing a mission (for example G.I. Blues) I forget the meaning of what I was doing and I start asking questions to myself: What is the meaning of this? Why that? etc.

Ammo and Weapon Types in Fallout 76

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 04:45 AM PDT

Remember Fallout New Vegas and the incredible amount of weapon and ammunition types? Eg: 9mm, 45-70govt, 10mm, 5.56mm, .50BMG, .45auto, 12.7mm, 20ga, 12ga, 5mm to name a few. Then there were all of the variants for each, hollow point, armour piercing, over pressured, nitro, buckshot, slug, flechette, beanbag, pulse round, etc. Remember how each of these could be crafted at a reloading bench, using recycled parts, and easily cycled through mid combat?

I feel that Fallout 4 fixed a lot of NV's gunplay and weapon modification issues, but severely got the diversity wrong.

There hasn't been much info released on the weapons and ammo featured in Fallout 76, but I'm really hoping they go back to a more complex system of gunplay where you get to choose which ammo type you use.

If anyone has any information on this/feels the same way I'd be happy to know that I'm not the only one who appreciates the more complex mechanics

[FO4] [Massive Spoilers] Just finished Survival, I love this game

Posted: 14 Aug 2018 09:27 PM PDT

At level 56 I just blew up the prydwen and killed the railroad and settled things with Father. I have always played a BOS/minutemen character who hated the Institute(in fact in many other characters I have not been able to resist falling into a BOS soldier fighting the "bad guys"), and for this most recent play-through I wanted to play on Survival with no mods.

This has been some of the most immersive, and downright fun, I have ever had with a game. Before, I had basically sunk days into multiple play-throughs on Very Hard mode, but this was so different in a good way. No fast travel is a big pain in the butt, but I feel like I experienced the game world in a way I never had. It felt like my character was a real part of the world, and I loved it!

I planned on doing the minutemen ending, but I recently bought the DLCs and decided to side with the Institute for 50/50 achievements and curiosity. I had my heart to heart with Father at the end and just went back to Very Hard so I can quickly get the rest of the achievements before modding out. I know this game has many flaws..my biggest gripes being with the lack of 'grey' choices in certain scenarios(many involving factions), many seeming black vs. white. Still I love this game, my favorite things being the sense of a detailed world that the player character can goof around in.

Anyone who wants to tell me about their first survival experience, other gripes about the game, or just the reasons they love it, are very much welcome!
