Posted: 02 Aug 2018 05:03 PM PDT Does anyone else think cultural victory is kind of confusing and very bulky? I'd like to see it revisited and altered a bit to make it a bit more straight forward but I also believe tourism should tie into other systems like loyalty too [link] [comments]
What game got you hooked onto Civ? Posted: 02 Aug 2018 05:10 PM PDT For me it was civ 3 and I played as japan my first game, and since then, I've been hooked. [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Aug 2018 06:22 PM PDT I'd appreciate some help on joining this group. I've read their rules and my profile is public. I requested to join the group via steam but it seems my request wasn't accepted. Maybe someone who is in this group can advise me on what I'm doing wrong? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Aug 2018 06:17 PM PDT Is this league still active? Looking to join a good group. New to multiplayer but very familiar with single player and want a good challenge. [link] [comments]
Civ 6 Difficulty. Need help beating emperor! Posted: 02 Aug 2018 12:42 PM PDT Long time civ player here. I have grown up watching and playing civ. I was watching my dad and uncle play alpha Centauri, civ 2 and civ 3 as a kid. I have played pretty much every civ game, some more than others, and now have 600+ hours in civ6. I love the game and it's my favorite one so far. That being said the difficulty settings and AI on Civ 6 has really bothered me. The difficulty setting for those that don't know are: settler, chieftain, warlord, prince, king, emperor, immortal and deity. I currently play on emperor and immortal. I can win games playing on emperor and have won quite a few but as soon as I bump the difficulty to immortal and deity, the AI's "extra bonuses" become to much. The strongest civs are consistently an era above me in technology and military units have been very difficult to deal with. I guess that's why there's difficulty setting but I cant seem to break through emperor. I turn all victory conditions except for score and domination off to at least allow me to not lose to a science victory before the 1700's. Wonders are almost impossible to get. Since the launch of the game the AI maneuvers have seemed to improve but still make mistakes, I try to use this and the occasional auto save load to gain advantages where I can. But through many many games, and even the good ones, on the top 2 difficulties by the time I get to roughly 1200 AD I'm researching gunpowder and square rigging and the top AI are researching flight and replaceable parts for infantry. The score differential is to much then I just restart. Need suggestions how to get through emperor difficulty. [link] [comments]

New civilization concept: Chola Empire Posted: 02 Aug 2018 07:10 AM PDT I wanted to make an concept for a little known but very interesting empire in southern India that at the height of their power, controlled or culturally dominated much of the islands of Southeast Asia. Please note that I am not a historian, so if I misrepresented anything please correct me. :) Leader: Raja Raja Chola I Raja Raja Chola I led the Chola during their greatest period of expansion, and was the first in a dynasty that lasted for many years. He also built great temples, and propagated Chola culture throughout the world during his rule. Leader Ability: Chola Dynasty- Coastal cities gain +5 garrison strength. All naval units trained in a city with a lighthouse receive a free promotion. +1 movement speed to all embarked units in a formation. Civilization Ability: Three Crowned Kings- Receive one trader and +1 trade route capacity with shipbuilding. Trade routes get +1 gold +1 food for each trading post in a coastal city they pass through that you control, and +1 culture +1 faith for each trading post in a coastal city they pass through in another civilization. Unique Unit: Thirisadai- Unique unit that replaces the Caravel. Unlocks with Naval Tradition. Higher production cost (300 vs 240.) +5 strength when adjacent to coast. +5 strength when attacking districts while in a formation. Shares its movement with all units in a formation. Unique Infrastructure: Kovil- Unique building that replaces the Temple. Higher production cost (120 vs 105.) Provides +1 housing, +1 food, +2 culture. The Chola are a military focused naval civ that can easily dabble in culture or faith as well. Use your powerful Thirisadai to dominate the seas during the early game, and spread your culture through trade and conquest, while keeping your people thriving at home with Kovils. What do you guys think? This is my first time doing something like this. I tried to keep them balanced but still powerful, while reflecting the culture and history of the region. Are there any advantages/disadvantages when playing for Domination victory in online speed(x2)? Posted: 02 Aug 2018 11:05 AM PDT Recently I decided to quicken my playthroughs. I am not an experienced player to notice smaller things that get effected by shorter games, so I was wondering if I played domination on online speed would I be hindering my experience? (examples: Units have less time to travel; Eras fly by to fast?) P.S. I play on emperor's difficulty [link] [comments] |
