Civ could learn from stellaris

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 05:33 PM PDT

Something I think stellaris does right are events, particularly the end game crises and this seems to be an idea that civ hasn't explored. It could be like the further you get past the year 2050 the greater chance of triggering an event like an alien invasion, an asteroid impact, or some godzilla creature coming out of the ocean that the civs need to band together to kill.

It could even be a part of a natural disaster dlc with earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, etc and would add a lot to the game I think and wanted to see what others thought.

Hosting a Civ V Lobby in a Nutshell

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:54 PM PDT

Who else does this?

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 01:41 PM PDT

I go into laid-back mode not being bothered with what I could research and spamming next turn. I eventually end up researching stuff I am recommended and 10 turns later I realise i need infantry to attack someone and it is going to take me 27 turns to research, while I was spending 10 turns to research Big Ben and Pikemen.

Ideas for an open source Civ V

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:43 PM PDT

Hey everyone, for the last year or so I've been working on an open-source Android Civ V reimplantation, and I'm now at the point where I've got almost everything down (except water tiles...) and I'm looking to improve!

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.unciv.game

I'd be super happy to hear ideas for improvements and where to go next with this thing!

Problems with Emergencies

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 01:31 PM PDT

Does anyone else have problems with emergencies? I've gotten so that I don't participate in them at all. First, it seems like it's usually me and maybe one other Civ participating, and second, even if I get a partner they don't do much.

Making an Admiral that provides Loyalty require a completed harbor, sucks. They're almost useless.

How often does Civ 5 go on sale? (Steam)

Does it only go on sale when big sales happen?

like reduced social policy and technology costs, reduced unhappiness? Compatible with many other mods?

Does aqueduct work for Metroplex achievement?

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 02:57 PM PDT

Title is self explanatory, just wondering bc some achievements with the word "district" don't work with the aqueduct or city center and I don't know if it was patched.

Game Difficulty in Multiplayer

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:33 PM PDT

I'm about to start a new game with a friend who is very new to civ and generally slow to learn game mechanics in most games. I want to set his difficulty so that he starts with multiple settlers etc. like the AI's do when put to emperor and higher. To do this, would I set his difficulty lower or higher? It would make sense that it would be lower because that means it would be easier, but who knows.

Edit: Civ 6

Discord Mapping Game a la CIV

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 06:35 AM PDT

Hello! I want to invite you all to my Discord Mapping game that will be held tomorrow. It is a turn based game where you pick a country, have wars and do politics stuff, this is my first time making something like this, so keep that in mind because currently, the game is quite simple https://discord.gg/sPP34U
