| Posted: 04 Jul 2018 06:56 PM PDT This gives every single player easy access to a visible Articuno raid, while also compensating for cities/towns/villages that might only have a handful (or less) of gyms. It would also prevent Regice and all other raid eggs from diluting the potential of Articuno spawns. We only have 3 hours Niantic, use some logic and common sense about this. Edit: Niantic has confirmed level 5 eggs will be DILUTED between both Regice and Articuno during the 3 hour window. For those who have given up, or are about to give up trying to get an ex raid pass, don't. I work a full time job, made time outside of work to go to the park and raided maybe 5×. Two of those times were legendary raids. | Posted: 04 Jul 2018 06:23 PM PDT To provide some backstory, I typically take my local gym out at night to collect my coins before the morning. My local gym has a pretty regular schedule where I own it at night/early morning and then my mystic overlords take back over during the day collecting their fill before I reset them and process begins again. Because of this, its rare for me to run into anyone who is not about to immediately boot me from the gym which is why I usually go later at night to do my stealth take over. Fast forward to the action, I go to my local gym as usual (This time in my car) and start taking on the 6man maxed Blissey, Snorlax, Vaporean, Tyranitar, etc you get the idea its not a walk in the park. This is the same dance that we do everyday, almost always the same 6 people with similar combinations of pokemon making me earn my spot in the gym. After battling two rounds and getting them nice and low, I go in for the knock outs and realize many of them received Golden Razz Berries boosting them back up to full. For anyone that has been through this before you know that whoever is watching could make your life a living hell if they choose to. I take a deep breath, heal up my pokemon and go back in hoping to win this war of attrition. At this point, the only thing I can think of is all of the horror stories I have read on this sub about people showing up pissed when someone is taking their gym. Luckily I am in my car which normally is not the case so I keep minding my own business hoping they eventually go away or run out of berries before I run out of potions. I jump back into to see what I am up against and notice soon after that a 2 shows up at the top of my screen. Since I normally raid solo, I thought it was a bug until I realized another person was doing damage and actually helping me!! Attacking together, we made quick work of the gym before any more berries showed up. We each put our pokemon in and drove away without saying a word (mostly because I was still in shock and to shy to make contact). This was hands down the best part of my day and it was an event created by an absolute stranger that I have never met before. Thank you random person, I hope we cross paths again and I can do the favor of helping you the next time the gym needs to be taken over! If anyone has a similar positive story, please share it I hope I am not the only one who has had a stranger make their day while playing this game! Also, thank you Niantic for making such an awesome game where these experience are possible after all of the new updates since launch. As a side note, Niantic, please make it possible to add someone as your friend if you share a gym together!!! I tried to find this stranger via my local discord groups, but did not have any luck most likely because they are new or just starting to play again. | Drastic decrease of gifts from stops? Posted: 04 Jul 2018 04:56 PM PDT Ok so for the last two days I've noticed I haven't gotten nearly as many gifts from stops as I used to. Today I went to the local park and normally after 20-30 mins I'd have 10 gifts to give. But this time after 35 mins I had 7. Spent an extra hour there and had maybe 12 more. Today on my way home froma water ballon fight with my bf and Sister In Law, We decided to grab some pokestops on the way home. Well, we pulled into a few stops and noticed a car at all off them. Cool beans, another player. Well, we pull into a park next to a cop car. We pull out and he follows us and we get pulled over. He lets us know that our tags are expired and we tell him were waiting for them to come in the mail. He also asks what were doing and we show him, talk about pokemon for a minute, and then he says hes gonna download it, and were good to go. Such a sweetheart, shout out to thay guy! We hit our last gym and stop and lo and behold, the car from earlier. We roll down the window and chat and find out that we live on the same street and trade names. And then we come home. | Another idea instead of level 41 Posted: 04 Jul 2018 01:22 PM PDT There's a lot of rumors going around about a level 41 or 42 coming. I feel that's a meaningless grind and instead should have other rewards for exp gained. Like, what if, every 150 million/250 million points , one were to get to encounter a random legendary with a small chance of pulling a shiny? Something similar could work too. That would keep people a lot more interested, than the monotonous grind from level 40 to 42, or whatever. Thoughts? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 04 Jul 2018 12:51 PM PDT Not sure if this is common knowledge yet, but my boyfriend and I just realized that a friendship egg's origin location is the pokestop or gym that the friend's gift came from. One of our friends is from another state, and when we hatch a friendship egg from him, I can trade the resulting pokemon with someone local for the appropriately large amount of trade distance. Example: I am in Oregon and get a gift from my friend in Arizona, and it comes with a friendship egg. I hatch the egg and get a Alolan sandshrew - the sandshrew says it's from Arizona. I trade it here in Portland with a local friend, and we get about 1,500 kilometers of trade distance for the trade, because the pokemon originated that far from where I currently am. In other words, at the end of the day, I get lots of trade distance with no travelling required from anyone, which gets me that much closer to that sweet, sweet trade distance medal. Although it's incubator-dependent, and you have closely coordinate your egg hatching and gift opening, this discovery has definitely bumped up the relevance of friendship eggs for me, since I already got decent IVs for all the Alolan pokemon that are currently available. Posted: 04 Jul 2018 06:44 AM PDT When I played this game last year when it came out, the only way I could catch Pokemon in my house was by using an incense (I live in the countryside). I decided to reinstall it today and about 5 Pokemon appeared (may be due to the quest), but I also noticed the map is way more detailed, some more roads around my house (walking paths ect) show up. Also in the Nearby tab there were a lot of Pokemon. Have they improved/increased the Pokemon spawning since last year? If so Im so glad they did.
