HGC China ended today, but most likely they have playoffs next week to decide the third team to qualify and the seeding.

The HotS team really needs to make an Optimization patch, it should be the highest priority right now, it's long overdue.

My PC is pretty high end, but even I get constant fps drops and stuttering during matches, and I know I'm not alone with these issues, it also seems that these problems keep getting worse and worse with every new patch they do.

As much as it sucks to put new content on the back burner for a bit, the HotS team should (IMO) really focus their effort on the client for now and optimize the hell out of it.

Your thoughts on the matter? Agree/Disagree?

Hello,

I am a long time Chen player since alpha. I've made many posts/comments on Chen. Currently I feel like the current changes are warranted:

  1. Let Chen move during trait. I'm not going to say the amount, I'll let the team decide that. 25 percent, 50 percent, 200 percent. Just let him move a bit during drink

  2. Give Chen Stagger: https://i.imgur.com/xvCpsGJ.png | The numbers don't matter, give him this mechanic. His trait already acts as a purifying brew to mitigate this damage. Currently just jumping in with Chen is death. He doesn't have options like Muradin avatar, Blaze trait/selfheal/bunker. Stitches E, ETC armor/knockback. He jumps in, dies.

  3. Slightly improve his animation/cast points

  4. If these changes go through, reduce his health.

  5. Buff his level 20. SEF 20 needs nerfed, keg 20 is okay but could be more interesting, SSS needs to be reworked or buffed, and he needs another option (Crane kick, fists of fury, gift of the ox).

Inconsistencies of the Storm 1 - Life Binder vs Ancestral Healing

tl;dr- time-stop and off-the-map effects put Life Binder on a 10s cooldown, even if it already contributed some healing, as long as the last tick didn't proc. This is inconsistent, and can either be abused, or screw over Alexstrasza.

Life Binder was recently majorly buffed to provide a large amount of quick healing to Alexstrasza and the recipient during the 2s delay, but from playing with it I noticed it's very frequently interrupted.

Unlike Ancestral Healing, Life Binder is canceled by time-stop and by 'special stasis' (=off-the-map effects). When it's canceled before delivering the last tick, it goes on a 10s cooldown, even if the ~7 initial ticks of healing did work.

Skills like Fenix E, Samuro Q & D, Genji's X-Strike, Tracer's Recall, entering Blaze's Bunker, all remove Life Binder, but not Ancestral Healing (already checked all of them).

This can be abused by Alexstrasza to provide very high sustain to herself and an ally such as Samuro, because Life Binder is a level 0 values 600 heal on Alex + 1 ally, while Ancestral Healing is 1180 on 1 ally. That means that a lane with Alex + lets say Samuro, can share two halfs of an Ancestral every 10 seconds, and this effect can be recreated on any other hero using a Bunker mid-skirmish. Abusing this can be very beneficial for a Q-build Alexstrasza as it would easily keep her above 75% health, though it does mean she might not have her ult in a crucial moment.

Ice Block (or other forms of regular stasis) don't remove Life-Binder, but Time Stop does. Doesn't matter if it's Alex or her recipient or both that get time stopped, Life Binder gets canceled, which means that Time Traps or Void Prisons can really screw over this save-mechanic. This contrasts Cho's Surging Fist and any of Yrel's channels which aren't canceled by time-stops.

Another little tid-bit is that Life Binder's level 20 upgrade, Ritual of Life, causes it to repeat itself twice more after the initial cast, making Alex and the target near-immortal for 6 seconds. If it's canceled by Time-Stops or special-stasis before the first 'life-equalizing', it goes on a 10s cooldown. If it's canceled after the first 'equalizing', it goes on a full cooldown.

Sidenote - Fenix E removes Kel'thuzad's chains, which is inconsistent. It does grant temporary invulnerability but it doesn't cleanse harmful effects. It doesn't remove Temporal Loop, though it can bypass it if timed correctly. It doesn't remove DoTs. So Kel'thuzad's chains shouldn't be removed either.

HORSEPANTS Probius suggestions (Make Pylons more important early)

Hello,

I am a long time Probius player since release. I've made many posts/comments on Probius. Currently I feel like the current changes are warranted:

  1. Make his level 13 level 1. His auras should start at level 1. The reasoning behind this is that allies will immediately understand the importance of playing around his Pylons.

  2. Remove the shield talent aura. Replace that shield aura with a aura that gives you shield as you do damage. It will be more in line with his other auras that require you to be offensive and don't give an immediate boon without action.

  3. Give his Q 2 charges. You can W > Q > W > Q. Or W > W > Q. Or Q > Q for ranged poke burst. He has no auto and and his Q should be his 'auto', while also playing to his combo strength. Can increase the cooldown of Q per charge to compensate. That's up to the hots team.

These changes will make him much more consistent, give veteran and new players a personal benefit to playing around his pylons which in return make a much more rewarding Probius experience.

He will have the ability to be a threat without slowly deploying W's with the ability to potentially land 2 quick Q's in a row to make up for no auto. Or Q poke an enemy, place a W, and threaten a W Q combo afterwards. Or he can do two W > Q combos in succession.

I have kids and I understand that you have to leave sometimes during a game. I also would understand if I joined a ranked game and left i put my team at a HUGE disadvantage so if I HAD to leave i'd be willing to take harsh punishment, even if it was a week ban from HL. It would make me choose times that I really thought I had to join a ranked game. I bring this up because out of all 6 of my ranked placement matches, 5 had quitters at the beginning and 1 of the games had two people leave. I understand this whole carry meta everyone talks about but if im truely supposed to be only a gold player I can't carry a team with two players down.

So the other day I was formatting my laptop to get it nice and clean. I reinstalled HotS on it, launched it and the trailer began. I was thinking to myself. Shouldn't there be a new opening trailer to the game? That one doesn't represent everything HotS has to offer. There are no Overwatch characters and it overall seems a bit dated. Maybe the closest to the full extent of characters you can meet in Heroes is the tracer trailer.

Part of me is saying that because I know how well blizzard make those trailers and I'd love to see a new fresh look into that.

Queues have been amazing at high master, sometimes they go over 20 minutes but you always get good games. Just wanted to clarify that we don't need a fix here, I am afraid blizzo will implement changes to all minor regions as if they were the same.

Heroes Data Parser - extract game talent/abilities into XML and JSON format

This is command line tool meant for developers who need the game's talents, abilities, icons, and other hero information from the game. This tool will extract such information from the game's files into XML or JSON format.

This tool is cross platform and will work on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

I try to ensure that all the extracted information is the exact same from ingame, however I can't read through every single talent/ability and check if all the numbers are accurate. If you see any inaccuracies, please let me know.

Yrel's abilities feel weird with quickcast

I expected them to be like Hanzo's [Storm Bow], where you can click and hold it to charge or click it once to instantly use the ability. Instead, they work like Alarak's [Deadly Charge] where you click it once and it channels without holding, needing to use it again to release it. Is there any way to change this?
