Greetings fellow Heroes of the Storm fans! Are you looking for some next level fun? Well, we have great news! Nexus Gaming Series is the largest amateur North American league for HotS and Season 5 sign-ups are now OPEN!

 

If you are looking to up your Heroes of the Storm gameplay experience, the first thing you need to do is join the NGS Website and Discord! Don't worry, playing in NGS is 100% free and open to players of all skill levels. You will need your battle.net ID in order to join, so be sure you have that ready to go! Make sure you register with your main account. No smurfs allowed! Matchmaking will be done once all the teams are signed up, and we will need your main battle.net ID in order to properly place your team.

 

OK, I've joined the website. Now what do I do?

 

Create your own team
- Teams consist of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 players.
- All players will count towards your roster. We do not differentiate sub players and main players.
- If you do not have a full team, you can advertise in the #lfm_team_recruitment channel in our Discord.

I found a team! What happens next?
Season 5 signups will close July 22nd. We will then spend the next 2 weeks doing team placements. Teams will be divided up across 5 divisions with the goal of pairing teams of similar skill levels together. Make sure your HotsLogs profile is set to public. This will help us ensure we create the most balanced playing field that we can!

 

Season 5 will begin on August 6th! We look forward to seeing YOU in the Nexus!

I think Azmo rework was intended to reduce the frustration when playing against him.

  • Q is easier to dodge (in the past they mentioned something similar coming to Chromie as well)
  • Less W summoning (they regret making summoners)
  • Less global splitpushing with D (braindead mechanic that's annoying to deal with)
  • D now also has to be used smartly and not to be spammed on cooldown. Demon decays faster, so you want to cast it only in an empty lane that's clashing.
  • No more infinite laser shenanigans (another annoying mechanic that's easier to execute than harder to deal with)

This also reduced some fun playing as him but that's inevitable since there's almost direct correlation between the two. And get ready, cause that's coming for all specialists.

Give Healing Fountains Armor to Prevent Early Game Well Sniping

Some heroes like Genji are able to avoid enemy forts/towers and kill enemy healing fountains as soon as the game begins. While this strategy isn't super common, it's incredibly annoying when it happens because there is almost zero counterplay.

In order to combat this annoying and unfun strategy, I suggest giving healing fountains 50 armor per nearby tower. So with two towers up, healing fountains have 100 armor and are invulnerable. Killing one tower reduces their armor to 50. Killing both towers removes armor completely. This solution eliminates early game well sniping by requiring the enemy to kill at least one tower before it can destroy your well.

Procraft's thoughts on the new Azmodan!

Hey everyone, I've made previous posts regarding Azmo before the PTR, during the PTR, and now after the PTR. The new Azmodan is finally out, and I'm incredibly excited!!

The day the PTR was released Blizzard buffed multiple parts of Azmodan. They answered a lot of our concerns with these buffs, which I cannot appreciate enough.

The new Azmodan has amazing aoe teamfight damage, his new laser is actually useful now, and I truly feel as if I have more options and build diversity. The new Azmo is crazy good on Braxis, and clumped up maps! He even has a lot less mana issues now!

I still feel as if both of his ults are extremely underwhelming. None of his ults matter at ALL. Tide of sin is just a small supplement every 20 seconds that's it. My main power is in my stacking and level 1, 7 and 16 talents. I don't need my ults to perform well at all.

Also, the aoe on demon warriors is almost non existent. The dot aoe is so low it might as well not even be there. I wish they could turn up the aoe damage. My passive is really awesome with battleborn, but without battleborn its just not as good. If there were a demon warrior/lieutenant baseline quest that granted a form of battleborn baseline, that would really help balance it out.

They also removed 10% of Azmodan's base health with the rework. I agree he should have less, but not 10% less. Can I please get back 5%.

Also, I feel as if the laser bonuses should apply even if the target dies. For example, if I have Cydea's kiss and my target dies while under laser but the burst of damage doesn't go off, I don't get healed.

Again, I love this rework, Azmo feels fresh, and his damage in teamfights is amazing. Keep up the good work Blizzard.

And turn them into niche assassins.

It's really a shame they are changing one of the unique aspects of this game. Summoners and pushers are great when balanced and allow real counterplay. Meanwhile keep making high mobility heroes with tons of escapes to neglect abilities and then complain about the monotonous meta with the same first pick and first ban heroes.

Change my mind.

3 Bans Now Supported In "HotS Complete" App

The new 3 bans is now supported in the draft tool!

We are also close to the next Goal milestone at 55 subscribers, and the one I'm really looking for at 60 is the ability to see how the Heroes base stats scaled from levels 1-30.

Raynor Banshee reposition shouldn't disrupt channeling

I also really liked those home screens, but they were seriously an incredible undertaking that took a lot of people offline for a long time. Plus, we have these incredible artists creating beautiful concept pieces that really deserve a chance to shine.

Furthermore, there is so much more we want to show you, and that stuff is equally deserving of space on the home screen -- stuff like upcoming events, and all the other content that we're always working on. Oftentimes, we'll be making cool things for you guys and have no obvious way of telling you where to check it out aside from patch notes.

In the end, having the 2D homescreen allowed us to show off our beautiful art and surface to you the things you might be looking for without taking 15 people offline for a few weeks to do it.

And that's more time for those people to make even newer, even cooler content. ;)

And I don't talk only about Xul's skeletons or both Azmodan's demon units. They are also continuously nerfing Nazeebo's Gargantuan.

Also, why they don't make skeletons more meaningful for Xul gameplay instead to be just raw push power?

Probius pick rate is 1,7%, and they just don't care to make him more playable.

about my 2 week ban for afk that happened almost 3 months ago, which was my first suspension, despite the e-mail telling me it was my second.

Here is the GM's message about it: "I can understand why you have confusion about this. However this specific penalty was applied by a specialist team at a higher levle than the games masters, Its possible the wording was incorrect as this was your first penalty to result in a suspension, however the time of 14 days was correct and in line with the decision of this specialist team."

First of all, it is well known now and Blizzard announced it themselves that the penalties for AFK now are automated based on their new system, whatever it is, and what GM said here directly contradicts it. And even if such a team really exists, the GM makes it clear that suspensions for AKF is not something a GM even looks at, hence in my case he doesn't even know why I got a 14-day suspension for my first ban, but he still just goes with it, based on the decision of this team (which is now is supposed to be AI).

Then, I don't even know why I was suspended in the first place, and here is GM's answer to that:

"I can undestand you wishing to dispute this, as your multiple tickets show, however this action has been approved and upheld. We will not look into overturning this for any reason. We also cannot discuss details about the suspension in any form, this is for security reasons ".

So, at no point will they ever tell me the reason for my suspension for "security reasons". How am I supposed to change my behavior if I don't know what was wrong with it and Blizzard absolutely refuses to tell me? And what are these security reasons that they are so afraid of? Telling people the reason they got banned will make them go rob the houses of everyone they played with, or what? Why this is not a concern when GMs show examples of toxic language then? Why it really seems like a bs to me?
