Is facotrio still worth it to get? Posted: 06 Jul 2018 09:17 AM PDT I was really into factorio when it was in its beta but never ended up getting it. Is it worth it to get it now? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Jul 2018 05:15 PM PDT My power grid wasn't ready to handle the power draw of 200 smelters. Used the 70 or so efficiency modules I had on had to drop the draw some, but it is still at 18MW. I think my total draw before adding the smelters was around 10MW. :O It does feel good to not have a bunch of coal belts spaghetti'ing up the place... [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 10:04 PM PDT Just a "showerthought" how old are you guys? I mean everytime ive posted or seen something on here, everyone (or atlest 95%) seems alot nicer and a lot more polite than any other gaming community ive seen/been a member of. How old are you now? And how old were you when you bought/got into factorio? I can start with saying im 17 and bought factorio just after i turned 17. I have almost 1000 hours after 7 months. EDIT: wow did really not expect more than max 15 comments. Ive read every comment and you guys have some really good points all around. I dindt make a poll bcs i dindt expect this much attention, and i really dont know how i would make it anyway. EDIT VERSION 2.0 the poll you all have been asking for: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8M6TMRS The answers: https://www.surveymonkey.com/results/SM-CFGCV72WL [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Jul 2018 07:22 PM PDT I think everyone has some feature they'd like to see added to the game. Some are more or less reasonable than others, but let's post ours. No specific goal in mind, not even as a request to the developers, I just think other folks' thoughts in this way can be very interesting in and of themselves. So what's on your wishlist? How to spiral out indefinitely with Recursive Blueprints Posted: 06 Jul 2018 11:40 AM PDT I was wanting to learn circuit networks while building my first mega base and wanted to make a Recursive Blueprints setup that just keeps plopping down my turret wall blueprint so my factory expands its borders automatically, but the logic involved in designing the circuitry myself is just slightly beyond my current capabilities. Would anyone mind providing a blueprint of a simple spiral out algorithm for me to learn from or break it down for me how to make each function? Aa a side request, does anyone have a good way/mod to remove cliffs automatically or at least stop them from generating any more in an existing map? I tried hex editing the save files (which works for enabling/disabling biter expansion), but it doesn't seem to take. Maybe a console command? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Railworld - Expand earlier for more resources? Posted: 06 Jul 2018 12:59 PM PDT Is the best plan in railworld to get some bare minimums going and find bigger resources or should my main base stay at center allowing me to create outposts in every direction? [link] [comments]

Necessity of Advanced Oil Refining Posted: 06 Jul 2018 08:01 PM PDT I will preface this post with the fact that by no means do I consider myself a factorio expert but I do have ~500 hours in the game and sometimes struggle to remember what the first time through was like. As a "veteran", whenever I start a new map I breeze through the early stages up til blue science. At blue science I'll usually get a small oil set up going, save some of the excess outputs, and then make exactly enough red circuits to research advanced Oil processing. Once that is complete I'll go back to my little oil rig, tear it down, and build a proper system. I recognize I only do this because I know what I will want later from experience and that I will need the petroleum. However if I remember correctly, on my first play through I used standard oil processing for quite a while until I realized there was an advanced version and was upset I had to redo the awesome (it wasn't) system I had built. Fast forward to now and standard oil processing is nothing more than an annoyance. So my question is: do people find uses for using the standard formula in the late game? Does the hurdle serve a purpose in the early game progression or to new players? tldr: Why are there two types of oil processing? [link] [comments]

Jamming inserters and supply train? Posted: 06 Jul 2018 07:51 PM PDT I'm trying to make a supply train to supply me with more material as I expand on a rail world. I'm currently using requester chests, loading into rail cars. The problem I'm having is that if a chest/car holds multiple items the inserters will jam due to the cargo wagon being almost full of the item. Is there a way to solve this without setting the inserters to a stack size of 1? [link] [comments]

Pipe flowrate problems? seablock, all bobs and angels. Posted: 06 Jul 2018 07:45 PM PDT Hey. im currently on my seablock world, and is currently rearranging my base. But i have a problem with the flow rate of my pipes, and i was wondering what the max flowrate for fluids (and gas if its different) is? Im trying to make all of 1 fluid run in 1 pipeline with a storage tank on 125.000 max compacity, with overflow rate aka the rest will be burnt/claryfied. But my slag farm cant get all the gases out, fast enough even with pumps. Pls help. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Jul 2018 06:47 PM PDT There is no train on the vertical rail way. I'm building a one direction system. [link] [comments] |
