How should I play the game?

Posted: 19 Jul 2018 11:41 AM PDT

I am not saying my playstyle is wrong, but I have a lot more fun just building a country that works, discovering things, and making a nice civilization than playing to win.

But I like winning too, and I have really only ever won by kicking the trash of my next closest opponent and then spreading out until my military size forces others to be nice to me.

Is there a way to reconcile this?

Next DLC Coming Soon?

Posted: 19 Jul 2018 04:22 PM PDT

Since the release of R&F, it seems the devs have been completely focused on bringing the iOS version of the game up to par with PC and with today's cross-compatibility update, I'm predicting some new in-game content soon(ish). In that vein, lets engage in some good-old wild speculation on what we'd like to see.

I personally have wanted a DLC pack that just adds new leaders to already existing civs. They would have to be the vanilla or R&F civs, since adding leaders to DLC civs might cause complications. America, Britain, France, Russia, Rome, Japan, and China all have a huge pool of significant rulers to choose from. Plus, the devs wouldnt have to design a new civ from scratch--just change the border color, add some new mechanics, and (probably the most labor-intensive) make some new animations/ voice acting for the leader.

Still, a completely new civ wouldn't be a bad thing. Since they said in R&F that they wanted to look at lesser known/missing parts of the globe, western/northern africa is lacking (Carthage, Morocco, Mali?), and the entirety of the americas still have only 5 civs (still holding out for Gran Colombia). Scythia technically covers most of it, but a new central asian civ would be interesting (Moguls, Tibet?). Europe is always a bit crowded, but the southeast (Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania) and northeast (Sweden, Finland) could be fun.

Lastly, a scenario pack may be likely since R&F didnt have any new ones. I don't care too much about scenarios, but they could lump that in with a handful of city states and new natural wonders like they did with the vikings scenario pack.

These are obviously just my thoughts but I'm curious what other people would want for the next DLC

What about a civ that has no unique unit but multiple unique buildings/traits?

Posted: 19 Jul 2018 09:06 AM PDT

Tbh I'd always trade my unique unit to having more unique buildings/traits. Those are more worth anyway, imo. Sure these units can make an easy domination victory by the time you're able to train/recruit them but what about those who don't want to wait until then or don't want to dominate someone by military strength?

Is/was there a civ that has/had the potential for this?

[Suggestion] The ability to "Ban" certain religions within your Civ

Posted: 19 Jul 2018 04:24 PM PDT

A bit of an internal-government feature:

Pull up a list of all religions in the game, and have the ability to "Ban" or persecute followers of that religion in your cities.

Would lower your population count in all cities, probably restrict population growth as well. In the later game, if you haven't decided to reform, it'd also have a big effect on tourism.

Would make Religious "warfare" more interesting than it currently is (I find myself avoiding Religion games simply because I hate popping and popping and popping these Missionaries).

Is there a mod to disallow only certain Civs from being in my game?

Posted: 19 Jul 2018 07:50 PM PDT

I hate having Venice or Austria in my game since they eat city states in a way where they can't be liberated. Are there mods that either let me remove them or overhaul these two specifically? These are really the only thing I hate about Civ 5.

I'd also appreciate any mods or content related to these civs or this topic in general since it may be of help to me in a way I didn't anticipate. Thank you!

Hi everyone. Of 3 game I've made in civ 6,I've lost 2, and at the third lowest difficulty, never ever happend that on civ 5. Any suggestions on what I could do to improve myself, as I'm sure it's my style of playing?

So far we have Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and even Okinawa, as civ start positions, so I thought it was only fair to complete the set. Introducing Chosokabe Motochika, leader of Civ 6's Shikoku!

Weird bug in civ 6?

Posted: 19 Jul 2018 12:46 PM PDT

So this might just be part of the game, but I keep getting attacked without being denounced first. This always happens in twos and is always a formal war, not suprise. It usually doesn't even happen with someone who's upset with me at all. It'll be, say, Russia (neutral) and France (green smiley) back to back out of no where. This is happening on low difficulties that usually have very non aggressive NPCs.

Romania Unique Unit and Infastructure Suggestions

Posted: 19 Jul 2018 05:10 AM PDT

Hey everyone!

I'm gonna start working on a Romania Civ 6 mod likely around September time, and was just looking for a few suggestions for unique units for them.

The leader would be Vlad 'the Impaler' Tepes so something from the Medieval/Renaissance era would be the most helpful but any suggestions are good suggestions.

Mainly looking for Unique Unit suggestions, as I already have an idea for the Fortified Church to be Romania's unique building/improvement, but I'm not married to it so Unique Building/Improvement suggestions are helpful too.

I already have ideas for unique abilities so not looking for suggestions for that today.

Thanks!

Dynamic Unit Formations?

Posted: 19 Jul 2018 08:57 AM PDT

Are dynamic unit formations a good idea? Like based on the terrain you can employ a different formation and get an attack buff. Generals can get promoted and learn more formations that units certain tiles away can benefit from. Is it practical?
