Overwatch Contenders 2018 return with Season 2!

Reminder, the bottom 4 teams from the season will play the top 4 teams from the respective region's Trials in relegation matches, to determine who plays in the next Contenders season.

This has so much potential. Zarya got an 80's skin for Halloween, I'd love to see Hammond get a 70's one.
Hs landmines could be little disco balls, his mech could turn into a giant disco ball, and he CAN HANG FROM THE CEILING WITH HIS GRAPPLE, and when he pops out he's wearing an afro and a little white suit.

I mean, Wrecking Ball is just so uninspired. I get that it's what the folks in Junkertown know him as, but for gameplay purposes, who the hell will have time to say "Wrecking Ball" while making call outs? Hammond is much better. Or I guess Hamster works too. That is all.

EDIT: You knock back people in ball form if you're at top speed.

 

A bit more info:

  • The number in the lower left corner indicates how many nearby enemies there are. The adaptive shield gets stronger if you activate it with more of them nearby. It's 100 base shield, plus 100 additional shield per enemy, not sure if there's a cap.
  • The mines from his ult can be destroyed via damage, and seem to have a small activation delay.

In Hammond's reveal, the Junker Queen poster has been fully revealed in the background. It appears that she has blue hair with a reddish streak of warpaint across her eyes. From the looks of her, I'd say she can't be a tank, or a support, and is most likely to be a damage character.

Edgy humans eventually get boring, I'm really happy there's a new animal hero. This is the one thing I've been hoping for every hero tease. Hopefully this means Blizzard aren't against adding even more animal-like heroes.

This is absolutely INSANE.

I was worried the team were running out of ideas but this has completely blown me away. Slamming into enemies while swinging around, pile driving to pop people into the air... There really are no words for this hero design. I'm completely smitten.

I'm super impressed by what the Overwatch team have created here, and I just had to show my appreciation. This is incredible.

June 2018 has arguably been the best month Overwatch has ever had.

So far this month we got:

  • A shot at all skins ever
  • A chance to play every event mode ever
  • A rebalance of a niche hero that made her viable, and also offered a gameplay tool that offers a new level of creative plays.
  • A rework of what was possibly one of the least-enjoyed maps of the game
  • Long-awaited role queue in the form of LFG
  • Endorsement system that has so far brought a new level of positivity to the community.
  • Hamster destroyer droid of hell
