| Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #47: Mineshaft Posted: 10 Jun 2018 06:08 AM PDT LAST WEEK'S THEME: RESORTGoldReally felt like this one seemed like the most complete resort here, mostly because of when I think of a resort, it's more than one building. It's a large place which offers various things to the people that stay on it. While everyone did that, this one seemed to do it best, with the large building which I assume is the hotel and the paths connecting it to other areas on the island. Starting with the island, really loved the look and shape of it. The two mountains with the building in between them was very nice to look at. I also really liked the shape and feel of the building, really I have nothing bad to say about the building. As for the rest of the island, I will say some of it felt a bit bare, but most was very well built. Good job! SilverAnother island but this one much smaller with a different style. The thing that drew me towards this build was how natural it looked! I have mentioned in previous challenges that I am particularly biased towards nature builds since I really love them. This one is no exception (however, the other judges agreed it was second place as well, so this didn't affect the standings!). I really liked the pool and the elegant island but I'll focus more on the building because I really enjoyed that part of the build. The green glass really helped tie the building with the rest of the island and the blocks used in the building were the same as the pool. This didn't make me feel as if the building was out of place or anything, which is always good! The interior, with its large open design was really good and I liked how everything was very polished and there wasn't spots to the interior that felt untouched. Great build! BronzeI hope you didn't build this in survival, because if you did I can only imagine the time spent gathering quartz... I really liked that you used quartz though and in a good way because I feel we don't see many really good quartz builds here. The thing with quartz is you have to have a lot of depth in your build to make it not completely white. I find with your depth and also the pixel art, you succeeded however I still find in some images the build still seemed a lot too white. I also really liked your road/roundabout parking area. With the concrete, it really makes it pop. I could go over everything else you built on the island but I felt they were all really good. My only problem was that I felt this build belonged on a exotic island but with some of shots, that wasn't being conveyed (which may have been intentional). So the landscaping, or rather the lack of it, is my only complaint for some of those small buildings off to the side of the large quartz one. Good job though! Honourable mentions IntroductionToday, we're going to take a structure that has been in the game for quite a while, but give it a makeover! Whether it be to add more to it or instead maybe take the general shape of a mineshaft but use a different design, it's up to you! Also, as for the poll that was last week, we had over 50% say that they were interested. We'll try and get something planned for hopefully next challenge for a community build! New Textures People have been asking about the new textures. As of now, the textures are only in the testing phase and will possibly change in the future. We have decided that we'll wait from allowing them in the build challenge as of now until there's a more official release of them. This may change next challenge as we, the judges, haven't had a full discussion on the matter but as of now, this is the ruling. Happy building! Inspiration ChallengeResort Build a mineshaft! It just can't be almost exactly the same as a mineshaft now. Rules

| [Urgent] My mod is being profited of by some company! What do I do Reddit? Posted: 10 Jun 2018 07:08 AM PDT Hi. I'm new to Reddit. I made a mod for Minecraft. I don't profit of it in any way. A site asked my permission to host the mod. I allowed them to. However after a while, they made a custom mod installer with ads and a virus that changes "hosts" so any Minecraft site would redirect to their site! They also began releasing their own updates for the mod, including a Premium feature that unlocks some of its content for paying money to that site! Then they set up another website dedicated to the mod and made a company based at the Seychelles (offshore center..?), then registered the mod trademark on them! Then those guys filled a lawsuit against me because I was using "their" mod's name. So what do I do? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 10 Jun 2018 04:56 PM PDT Is there some sort of history with this? It kind of feels like that was the point of adding that block, but then they never carried through for some reason. I'd even be happy with a special bookshelf block that can store books and parchments, and one that's just for show if the problem is it creates lag or worse. Does anyone know if that was ever the plan, or if it's a planned feature that will be added some day just not now? [link] [comments] | ||
