Because hoarding items allow you to get richer, then prettier, then shinier (skritt-approved) so you can blind the Elder Dragons and use that advantage to save Tyria. Yes, that's how it works.

For the sake of our framerates

ANet, please consider adding the following list as well to the 'Character Model Quality' filter (besides the default armor models):

  • Default weapon models
  • Default backpack model (or completely hiding it)
  • No cosmetic auras
  • Default mount models

When I'm doing a world boss event or WvW, and set this option to 'Lowest', I don't want any of the above to unnecessarily consume my precious framerates (which I'm short of anyway).

And when the legendary armor for example, arguably one of the most prestigious item is already hidden by this option, I see no point why the above list can't be replaced with default models as well.

SAB platforms are nice, don't get me wrong, they're very practical. The problem is that, although they serve their purpose as platforms, they don't really work well when you want to make something that looks like it is part of the non-SAB environment. Right now the only alternative which I can really think of is Slab of the Solid Ocean which is pretty expensive per slab.

Please, please, PLEASE consider adding cheap non-SAB platforms to the game, ArenaNet. It would really open up a lot of opportunities for decorating guild halls in many ways. They could straight up just be re-skinned SAB platforms but with non-SAB textures and that wouldn't take much time to implement!

Meta and relative strength aside, what’s your favorite weapon combo/build?

Personally, I really like warrior berserker spec with axe/torch and x/shield hybrid damage mostly focused on berserk mode and primal bursts. I just really like the concept of an axe-wielding flaming berserker tearing up the battlefield. I'm trying to find a way to make it work in pvp without being too squishy or useless. I was curious as to what specializations and weapons you all like.

I'm confused as in what order to do content (story/lore)

I recently purchased PoF. I kinda wanna play it, but don't wanna spoil myself more than I already have. I was just exploring and trying to get all core mounts, and everything was absolutely confusing. Every NPC dialog contained 5 different names I never heard before. So yeah, I'm thinking about waiting a bit on PoF and do previous content. But oh my god.

It seems to have a good time in PoF I should know the events of Living World Season 3. Which kinda requires Heart of Thorns. And I'm guessing HoT also requires previous knowledge from LWS2 and Scarlet's War, and of course your personal story. So I kinda have to do everything in order. But that's a big problem for me! Doing my personal story and watching some videos on Scarlet's War would be ok for me, but then I would have to buy LWS2. And am not only out of gold, but also don't think that's a good investment as a new player. Buying gems is out of question. Sigh, back to youtube videos. Then I would have to buy HoT. I was kinda hoping to delay that purchase for a few weeks to make sure I'll stick with this game. And then back to watching LWS3 videos. And only then I would be able to play PoF decently? Argh, is there no way around that? Any advice?

I'm absolutely lost on what I should be doing as exploring more Crystal Desert areas seems not only unrewarding, but also weird cause I don't get what the hell is going on. My short term goal was to get the first 4 mounts, and now that I'm done I don't know what to do. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Best method for inattentive farming?

Howdy folks!

I picked up a 2nd account during the sale, and I figured I'd use it for something constructive - inattentive farming while I work on my 2nd monitor!

I believe this is acceptable - I am not AFK farming or anything. If I am wrong, please kill me with fire.

What is generally the best class/build/location for this? Any input is greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Weaver/Tempest builds for wvw roaming?

I like how both specializations play, but conflicted as to which one to run. I like running weird off meta stuff, so I'm currently thinking of gearing up my ele with celestial gear and having more zerk/power bases trinkets. Planning on also running staff unless I run tempest then it'll be most likely dagger/warhorn.

My goal is to build my ele to be fairly tanky but still supply some decent damage, while also having some healing power to have stronger sustain from my heals. (And the celestial could help condis be a tad more impactful) Would appreciate any advice y'all have or build recommendations, thanks!
