TIL Spider Jockeys Haven't Been in the Game for More Than 2 Years Posted: 26 Jun 2018 07:12 PM PDT Today I learned that due to a bug, spider jockeys haven spawned naturally in Java edition for more than two years, since at least 1.9.4. I knew I hadn't seen one in a while! But, two years?! I voted on the bug tracker, but it's not even assigned. It was even reported by King Ray! A whole mob not in the game for two years and Mojang's apparently not going to do anything about it. [link] [comments] | ||

Is vanilla Minecraft worth it for someone who hasn't played in years? Posted: 26 Jun 2018 01:04 PM PDT Hi! The last time I played Minecraft was when it was still developed by Notch himself and infdev/invdev were a thing. It didn't have many survival elements back then and last I checked up on this game, I think obsidian gates were the new hotness. Now I assume in the last ~8 years or so there has been a bit of progress in terms of game mechanics. Is it worth it checking out vanilla Minecraft as someone who has seen the basics back in the day already? Or should I use the game as a modding base and check out something else entirely? Thanks.
