I've just started drawing Halo art and I was wondering what you all think.

A big box book store released something a little early. Time to do some reading

I hope halo infinite is a bit more dark than halo 5

Posted: 22 Jun 2018 05:03 AM PDT

Not dark as in depressing and boring the whole way through, it's a halo game after all, we need some comedy and badass stuff. However, when you compare halo 5 to games like reach and the 1-3 it seems kinda watered down. For example, spartans are more shiny and look like toys, and there's no blood. Hopefully halo infinite can have halo reach style spartans which look much more realistic and better than 5's ones imo, and I also hope it has blood. Now obviously, this is all just my opinion so what do you lot think?

EDIT: I also don't mean dark in colour scheme. I'd love to see bright vibrant colours on the halo ring.

Halo 3 playlist

Does any one else feel that the halo 3 throwback playlist should be a ranked playlist and permanent playing it has been the most fun on halo 5 I've had in a long time

Can we take a moment and appreciate the soundtracks?

Posted: 22 Jun 2018 01:07 PM PDT

The halo franchise has always had that tone of tranquility but even in the heat of battle, the music can turn to an epic tone. Ive always really loved it. Especially the soundtrack in halo 3 and odst. Odst's soundtrack made you feel stranded and lonely, because you were and just how the music was performed made the entire atmosphere so much better. I would have to say halo 3 and odst was the most memorable but I gotta say Halo CE and Halo 2 had amazing soundtrack also. Even today all of them sound so nostalgic and really brings me back.

Halo Infinite Trailer (Reclaimer/Marathon Symbol?)

Posted: 22 Jun 2018 01:22 PM PDT

After rewatching the Halo Infinite trailer for the 100th time, something kept sticking out to me. I couldn't shake a certain image I found in the Halo Infinite trailer. When the screen below was released it further grabbed my attention.

Halo Infinite screenshot

What a beauty. I got some major Bassnectar vibes at first and then I just kept feeling like I've seen this in Halo somewhere. The closest symbol I could find is the old Marathon logo/Reclaimer symbol (before it was updated in Halo 4).

Reclaimer

At work I played around and compared the two. Not perfect but the dimensions almost work out perfectly. I'm not very good at Photoshop so please forgive me in advance for my spotty work. I didn't see any posts or videos on this topic before.

Side by side with structures blacked out

So there it is. Boredom at your finest. I don't know what this means, maybe it's just a shout-out from a designer or a total accident.

To put some tinfoil on, maybe it refers to 343 Guilty Spark, he does kind of have this logo in his face-hole.

343 Guilty Spark face-hole

Shout-out to this dude for "sparking" that thought. Hehe

That's it, have a great day!

Is Halo 3 ODST for the MCC worth it?

Posted: 22 Jun 2018 12:42 PM PDT

I know I'm late to the party but should I buy the ODST campaing for the MCC if I already own a copy for the 360?

Dual Wielding in Halo Infinite

Posted: 22 Jun 2018 07:46 PM PDT

Don't just downvote. Read.

I know one of the biggest issues with dual-wielding was that, by themselves, the guns were underwhelming, and together were overpowered. It made the dual wieldable guns essentially useless alone. I have a pretty legitimate solution for dual wielding to be in Halo Infinite, and for it to be "balanced".

1) Make all the guns balanced, and useful by themselves.

2)You can only ever carry TWO GUNS. So you can carry a primary and a secondary gun, OR you can dual wield. This balances dual wielding by basically sacfricing range in 2 ways: No zoom (assuming Smart Link will still be in Halo Infinite), and no ranged secondary weapon.

3) Never spawn dual wieldable weapons next to each other, unless it is intentional map design (SMG's together as a sort of Power Weapon.)

Basically, dual wielding WOULD kind of be overpowered but balanced because it's not easy access (refer to point 3), and it's like running around with only a kind of longer range shotgun.

Kind of related, but I would like to see campaign levels (maybe flood levels) that are designed with dual wielding in mind. Like maybe a moment where the flood returns, and there are seemingly endless infection forms and MC picks up two SMGs. I just think that would be dope.

No wonder why Halo 3 Classic Throwback can't keep a good population, it's nothing but oddball!

Nostalgia, despite being fairly new to Halo.

Posted: 22 Jun 2018 06:08 PM PDT

Do any newer players of Halo still somehow get a feeling of nostalgia and respect when playing the original trilogy? I started with Reach and played up until Warrant Officer grade 2 I think, then didn't really play any Halo games until 5, which I mainly just played Warzone modes for. Within the last two months though I played through all the MCC games including ODST and the original trilogy made me feel sad in a way, since I missed out on the multiplayer. I know I could probably just play MCC's multiplayer but it probably wouldn't feel the same as what I imagine it felt for veterans of the series.
