Anyone else hate the fact that Letter Scraps are required for 100% completion?

Seriously Rockstar, you couldn't have used that time to add in Vigilante missions instead of this pointless Nintendo Style Collectahon?

Did they learn nothing from the infamous "Flying Rat" hunt from GTA IV?

At least collecting spaceship parts get's ya a neat little dune buggy.

Question about offline?

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 09:09 PM PDT

I was thinking of picking up GTA V on the Steam sale this week, but after looking into it a little more I found that there are a lot of people talking about being unable to play with no internet connection. I don't have internet access at my apartment, (and because of this I didn't build my PC to connect to the internet at all) so how would I go about playing it offline? I genuinely don't care about the MMO like aspect of the game, I just want to mod the game and run around as an LSD officer, maybe play the zombie survival mod, something like that. If I need the internet even just to verify a login to the pointless Social Club that will be a deal breaker for me.

Question about DLC and controls (Used to play (GTA4) on PS3 going on PC)

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:50 PM PDT

I was thinking about buying the game only for the story mode, is it worth ?

Also, there's so many bundle option on Steam I get lost, if I just want to play alone, are DLC needed? (Are they only for online?)

Also, I used to play on PS3, is it hard to play with a keyboard/mouse or should I switch to a controler on PC?

Thank you.

[PC] “Corrupted game data. Please reboot.” Error Message.

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 03:26 PM PDT

I play on PC and I just ran into my first problem. I come to play Online Mode, but then I'm stopped by an error message along the lines of, "Corrupted game data. Please reboot." And before all of this, I made sure ASI and mods were completely off before going into online mode. Did I do something wrong? Is there a fix to this?

Story Mode Character Wheel: Online Character slot - how does it play?

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 10:09 AM PDT

In story mode, the bottom slot in the character wheel is for your online mode character. Two questions regarding that.

1) If you switch to your online character in Story Mode, is there anything to do? I've tried Director Mode as well as the AddonPeds mod to play as characters that aren't Franklin, Michael, or Trevor. However if you do that, you can't do anything besides wander/drive around. Shops don't work and you can't even use things like the movie theater or vending machines. And for AddonPeds (not sure about Director mode), any cash you earn doesn't register (probably because the game doesn't have a place to save that data).

Since the online character slot shows as a character on the Character Wheel, does that mean you can actually play the game properly (aside from voiced main story missions)?

2) If I disable all mods so I get into Online Mode to make a character, go back to Story Mode and use the character wheel to change to my online character, and then save... does that mean I can exit the game, turn mods back on, and then play my online character in story mode?

FPS locked to 30 on PC

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:26 AM PDT

I just purchased GTA V for PC and I noticed my FPS is locked at 30. I have an i7-6700k and a GTX1080. There's no reason for my FPS to be so low...

Is the Vagner the best budget supercar?

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 04:31 AM PDT

Recently started playing again and need to purchase a new super, is the Vagner the best budget option as that's what I've gathered from Broughy's lap and speed testing.

VisualV & NV/NVR R* lighting glitch, lessor known issue?

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 02:40 AM PDT

[Solved] ↓↓↓

Natural Vision exclusive install has this issue as well as other any other reshade/enb hauling the VisualV .dat settings

Upon some testing I noticed that VisualV causes some janky problems with sudden lighting changes in the Rockstar editor when looking near the sun or bright areas as if there were a threshold gap being crossed and its pretty problematic, so I tried it with Redux's visualsettings.dat and no spontaneous changes with light, but at this point I've narrowed it down to only the .dat and nothing else like 'settings', 'timecycle', and so forth and I've gone ahead and compared both sets of data but I'm not sure if anyone else has already touched up on this topic or not and since it can be somewhat classified as a bug I have hopes it might be notorious enough for a few people to recognize, thoughts?

Also note that the .dat file modified for Natural Vision also has this problem with many other overwriting files considered

Reference

After a few discussions of running in circles I did not make what I wanted clear enough for people to understand so if you're still confused, what I'm trying to find is what line of code, text, what ever tickles your ass inside the visualsettings.dat created by VisualV also to be paired VisualV's modified version for NV/NVR that causes this specific lighting bug.. and no changing ENB's is not what I'm trying to do nor adjust the .ini files which were already tested to be irrelevant.

Fun little note, Redux's .dat file just lags a shit ton where the lighting bug would occur whilst VisualV just breezes over it and gives visual error

Solution update>update.rpf>common>data>visualsettings.dat

'[Adaptation.min.step.size] 0'

'[Adaptation.max.step.size] 1' or less than

'[Adaptation.step.size.mult] 0.0'

anything above 1 seems cause this issue and is kinda non-existent in single player as far as I know, might be a rare case regarding R* editor but still 100% fix-able
