I am endlessly grateful to this subreddit. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 02:10 PM PDT I love Factorio to death, but that is the problem. I always end up overplaying it and then getting bored, so I stop. Then i log on and see a post on reddit about this new fa who is addicted to this game and it fills me with new determination to keep going. Thanks to this subreddit, I have enjoyed Factorio infinitely more. Does anyone else experience this cycle or fun-boredom-reddit-fun? Just curious. Maybe no one does and i'm just being pathetic, Who Knows! [link] [comments]

Are all these mega-base posts with vanilla / uncustomized map settings or set on rich? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 11:54 AM PDT I lurk a lot and come across these crazy builds were you might see 300+ furnaces processing 1 type of ore. Am I looking at maps with 5mil+ patches with rich resources turned on, or are people feeding these mass furnace builds with 5-10 outpost? I ask because it seems like I end up burning through my first few outposts by the time I finish setting up logistics for my final outposts. (e.i. I burn through a few 200k iron patches by the time I finish finding and setting up the other 10 outposts for copper, stone, and uranium.) On top of having to return to the main base and tend to other production. [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 03:47 PM PDT So I've read quite a few tutorials and 101s for combinators, even trying in get on simple things, but I am still having a hard time grasping it. If someone could link/post an explanation with pictures of the example being talked about (!showing the combinators screen!) it would be extremely helping. Basically every help thread/post I have come across talks about how to set it up and maybe post a screenshot of how they placed but doesn't show the setup menu. Anyone who currently is using them if they could screenshot the setup and all combinators screens it would go a long way in helping. Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 09:15 AM PDT Hi! In about an hour VERTORIO has its first big event, we celebrate 250 members, this is a huge milestone for us, and couldn't have done it without everyones help! Its gonna be a ribbon world with both marathon and death world settings, everybody is invited, from noob to pro, come check it out, even if you just wanna shoot some biters :D A huge thanks to the guys from both fMMO and GM8 for helping out on a ton of server stuff! There is a cap of 50 people tho (we like chaos, but with these harsh settings we need to still have at least some control :P), and to give all our members a chance only VERTORIO Discord guys and girls can join, since the password will be posted there! This also doubles down as our first reddit post, and trying to think of a nice joke to close it of, but just too hyped to think!!! Hope to see you there :D love, VERBUGA [link] [comments]
Any chance of a native freebsd version? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 04:18 PM PDT Just wondering if there's any chance of a build for freebsd? Allegro apparently supports it, and sdl does too, so there shouldn't really be portability issues. Yeah there's wine and the linuxulator, but the linuxulator is currently on a too-old version to work with the latest version of factorio (I'm working on rectifying this but doubt it happens soon); wine incurs a performance penalty and isn't quite native the same way. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 07:40 AM PDT Hello! I'm a noob who recently got really addicted to this awesome game. Haven't felt this since I first tried minecraft back in 2012 tbh. Anyways, I'm not not spending enough time with my girlfriend now and wonder how co-op works so I can include her lol. A couple of questions before I buy it for her. Can I invite her to my current save, or do we have to start a new one? Can one of us continue alone? Also, any general tips/experiences on co-op in factorio would be highly appreciated. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 03:39 PM PDT I did some testing to find out the speed of various Bob's inserters on 0.16.51 and Bob's inserters 0.16.8 and thought some of you guys might be interested in the results. My test was simple; counting the number of ticks (using combinators) it took to move 1500 stone bricks between 2 chests at different positions. Here's my setup. I only tested once so I definitely welcome contradictory results. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 06:54 PM PDT Is there a program that you can us to edit blueprints outside of the game? If so, can I get a link. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 02:36 PM PDT Hi All, I'm looking to screenshot my base using a full sized option at a high res. Like this from the link below. https://i.imgur.com/leCoBbe.jpg I've looked through all of the posts using the terminal commands like this. https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/6f1gr6/psa_how_to_take_massive_screenshots/ However on a Mac I don't know where this command saves the file. There is no Factorio folder (or doesn't seem to be). I've also tried this mod. https://mods.factorio.com/mods/aaargha/LargerScreenshots But there are no buttons on the screen and no way to interact with it apart from the Mod menu. Has anyone achieved this on the Mac? Thanks [link] [comments] |
