Unpopular Opinion: This Subreddit is just as bad as the official forums. Posted: 10 May 2018 01:20 AM PDT Bring on the downvotes, because I know they're coming for this. I used to frequent the official forums like a year or two ago. I thought it was the best place to discuss the game at the time. I wasn't terribly familiar with reddit yet. I got tired of all the bickering and nonsense that takes place there and had heard that /r/wow was a much better place to be. At first I really enjoyed it. People seemed nicer and more informed. After spending about a year here I've realized it's just as bad. There's still bickering, there's still uninformed players with bad attitudes. The only thing that really seems to get upvoted is stupid memes. In fact, the lack of meme posting is actually a huge plus on the official forums. I see people on here talk crap about the official forums as if this place is so much better. I've had awesome, intelligent conversations both here and on the forums. I've seen hateful garbage being spewed both here and on the forums. I guess what I'm getting at is ultimately I'd much rather be here on reddit, but lately the amount of complaining and relentless crappy memes has been almost unbearable. Am I the only the one that feels this way? Is everyone else totally happy with this subreddit lately? EDIT: To be clear, I sincerely thought this post would be immediately buried in downvotes. I felt the need to vent a little and share an opinion, one that I was sure was going to be quite unpopular. I'm genuinely surprised and pleased to see that so many others agree. In a strange way, this has made me feel more welcome here. [link] [comments]

Ok wtf happened to Lilian Voss? Posted: 10 May 2018 09:35 AM PDT I'm here doing the Tirisgarde Sound Horde quests and she is acting like fucking Minerva Ravensorrow, what the hell? She wasn't a stupid psycho bitch before, man. [link] [comments]
You know, I think people are getting a little carried away hating on blizzard... Posted: 10 May 2018 01:27 AM PDT Looking at this sub it feels like the toxicity and hyperbole is getting out of hand, no matter what part of the game we're talking about there's this huge push to just shit on everything. Any story developments? "Doesn't fit my head canon, its bad writing" like please, I'm reading all this discussion and I'd be surprised if any of you could defend your ideas about quality in writing beyond broad misconceptions about what it means to write badly. I like that character choices are controversial, and that theres an interweave of perspectives on the entire conflict. We datamine anything one faction gets? "This is objectively better than what the other side got! Our stuff is shit!" Near on constantly, its like none of you people understand subjectivity beyond it being the reason no one can tell you you're wrong. Blizzard sticks to its guns on a design decision? "Theyre lazy fucks who hate us and the how dare they suggest they're anything but monsters for not caving." Like man, there are reasons not every piece of community feedback is gold. There's just so much salt all the time that its hard to enjoy being a part of the community, anything you enjoy just exists as a target for someone else's nerdrage. I like the way BFA is shaping up, the story is intricate and evokes a strong sense of conspiracy lurking below the surface. Characters are developing in very active ways, that challenge our preconcieved notions about the setting. Theyve been very succesful at thematic consistency, with corruption and the notion of cosmic balance at center stage. There's plenty of spectacle to enjoy as well. In terms of gameplay they're moving towards the game feeling more like an rpg again, the allied races are all magnificent- especially the void elves and lightforged, which are a great setup for upcoming storylines with an amazing aesthetic (if i mained alliance, VE brewmaster monk would absolutely be my main.) The new leveling zones looking amazing as well, especially with the spooky ambience in kul tiras. [link] [comments]

[BfA Spoilers] Well, I guess the playerbase knows how Alleria felt now... Posted: 10 May 2018 02:45 AM PDT Alleria:"Ah Vereesa it's so good to see you after all these years! How is our sister Sylvanas doing?" Alleria:"..." Playerbase:"Oh so we are going to AU Draenor again? So we'll see Grom and Yrel again? Blizzard Writers:"Yep." Playerbase:"Wow I can't wait!
