Weird question but zombie pet? 7 Days To Die

Weird question but zombie pet?

Posted: 11 May 2018 03:30 PM PDT

Has anyone ever tried to keep a zombie as a pet? Will it actually stay if you built a steel reinforced wall around it? I'm asking because yesterday I took out a zombies legs and arms and it just kind of laid there and growled at me. It was strangely funny. I was about to name it but my buddy headshot it with a crossbow.

Will it eventually die or despawn? What about a deer or rabbit. Or worse a zombear???

Are their build limits?

Posted: 11 May 2018 03:27 PM PDT

I'm planning a giant build... like epic gothic cathedral scale and was wondering what sort of build limits there are? I've been through the skyscraper POI's, so I know I've got some decent height to play with, but have read things where people just hit invisible limits on building giant structures.

I plan on modding the steel based block upgrade to hold as much weight as their navisgane bridges (yes, those are special blocks they added to span more distance).

I also plan to do all this work while streaming if anyone is interested.

PC - Looking for players (server online @7pm est)

Posted: 11 May 2018 02:30 PM PDT

We are restarting our server tonight (last play through was ~140 days) and are looking for more active players

We currently have ~8 players (3-4 groups of 2; groups will be limited to 2; can go solo)

Random gen // Vanilla
Player Killing set to 3 (All players are killable, including allies)
Air Drop: 24 Hours (No Markers)
Game Difficulty: 5 (highest, will show 6 in the server select)
DayNight Length: 120 Minutes (This is up from 50 minutes)
Day Hours: 16 hours (This is down from 18, 6 AM is the end of night)
Blood Moon Count: 14 PER PLAYER (This is up from 8)
LootRespawn: 20 (This is down from 30, but due to the increased time it's longer, 40 hours IRL of active game time)
Max Spawned Zombies: 80 (This is up from 60, 80 is considered safe, we might stress test this later to go higher)

Server Rules:

Groups/Teams: Limited to just two players!
PvP: We consider this Friendly PvP... This means it's up to you if you want to kill some one on sight. We have a few players that do not want to PvP at all. We will try to work with these players, it's RandomGen, so this might not be an issue at all. No raiding offline players, kind of takes the challenge out of things...

Let me know if you're interested.

The goal is to have an active, challenging server, with friendly PvP for those interested.

[PS4] Inspired by this Sub I started a new map

Posted: 11 May 2018 08:16 AM PDT

After reading some more posts on this sub over the last few days I fired up the game and found a seed, can't remember off the top of my head, and went to work. The first 10-15 minutes was all gathering and crafting until I spotted a deer and chased it, the deer glitched onto a rock and couldn't get away. So I started smacking it with my axe until I was attacked by some passing zeds. The next 5 - 10 minutes was me backing away and hitting the 3 zombies with my axe. Once I shook them off I was able to kill the deer, and moved on my way. Until I found it, a house in the middle of nowhere. It had a locked but rickety front door which I smashed down and replaced in short order. Inside was a fridge, a storage bin and a forge all ready built in. I put down my bedroll and started to get acclimated. I was planning to use this house for at least 3-4 days before I set out for better surroundings. I went upstairs and didn't notice the door to my right, which a zed broke down and killed me. It was a side door to the house, so I respawned, took him down. Replaced the door and put spikes at the bottom of the stairs of the side door. Once I fixed the walls and doors I went out for more gathering. As I came back to the house, that's when I saw it....a bear right at my front door. I had to get rid of it, just to give me an exit out of the house for gathering, I had laid spikes at the side door. I crafted more arrows and a club and attacked the bear.

When I re-spawned away from the house this time, I was able to get round the spikes and into the house and get my gear back. The bear then got stuck in the window of the house and I used this chance to pepper with arrows until it died. Happy with this I spent some times crafting iron and getting clay from outside, it was time to get more gear crafted. For the next 20-30 minutes or so I am doing my own thing, slipping in and out of the house. Then I come back from 10 minutes gather to see ANOTHER BEAR. This bear is ready when I open the front door and I am mauled. I gave up for the evening at that point.

But all in all I had a blast and can't wait to jumping into a new map either tonight or over the weekend.

Careful! Some water sources may be contaminated, and pose a health risk.

Posted: 11 May 2018 08:35 AM PDT

Been playing this game for about a year now. Whenever I see this tip on the loading screen I've always wondered is it possible to find a fresh clean source or water that doesn't require boiling?

The tip indicate that it IS possible by the word SOME.

I've never even tried drinking untreated water so I don't know if this tip is misleading or is there a percentage chance of dysentery with every untreated water you drink? Or is it possible to find a completely safe water source?
